Hmm, my DS's room looks like it's been burgled Shock He is the untidiest person I have ever met, yet is so good in lots of other ways.

I feel sorry for his future partner though...!

bigTillyMint · 05/06/2016 11:12

Horse, better not introduce him to my DD - the house would have to be condemned within weeksGrin

Horsemad · 05/06/2016 11:15

Grin I cannot get him to tidy up, he is a pain. I just shut the door so I don't have to look at it. Grin

Fairenuff · 05/06/2016 11:24

My ds sorted his paperwork out yesterday as a procrastination exercise to avoid revising. He's put everything he no longer wants/needs into the recycling and now has a huge pile of new poly pockets ready to re-use.

Today he's started transferring notes onto index cards ready for his last exam. I'm impressed. Four days and it will all be over. Can't wait!

Auntpetunia2015 · 05/06/2016 11:24

BTM horse room tidy??? What is this madness you talk about??? Bio hazard suit was needed to clean DSs room the other weekend!!

Not actually seen him much this half term he's been out, DD been out so I've been out!

Need to get him on track now we are back to school tomorrow re eating , he's put on loads of weight, and sorting uni visits. Will help that the girlfriend is away for 3 weeks so less of a distraction.

Today he's going to clean my car (he doesn't know this yet but he is)

One more exam here on Tuesday so hopefully some revision gets done.

Horsemad · 05/06/2016 11:46

DS's last one is 17th, got 3 more to do yet...

ono40 · 05/06/2016 11:59

Two more here but these are the AS's that actually count towards A level so there is a degree of pressure - roll on Thursday!

BTM best our DCs don't meet either - he has so much paper in his room that I can barely get in. I'm sure it is a H&S hazard. I wanted to change his bedding earlier but gave up, that will be a job for next week when it is all over.

bigTillyMint · 05/06/2016 12:17

FaireEnvy!

AuntP, I think I need you to get me back on track tooBlushGrin

Auntpetunia2015 · 05/06/2016 13:29

God faire how did you manage to get that achieved?? So jealous Envy

BTM always available to lead you back on track ...which track do you want though ...mine or the right one?! I'm liking mine at present WinkHalo

LittlehumHams · 05/06/2016 13:31

Threatening a scorched Earth bedroom policy works in our house. If bedrooms are not kept to decent standard they find precious possessions residing inside a bin bag deep in the bowels of the wheelie bin. Very satisfying feeling to actually follow through and they usually keep bedroom tidy afterwards. Wink Just don't do it the day before bin collection!

dd didn't go to Exeter as she still has lots of exams but hoping they put one on in the Autumn as it is fairly quick for us to get her there by car or train (only a few stops).

Fairenuff · 05/06/2016 13:44

I run a very tight ship AuntP Grin

But the real reason is that he wants things from me like lifts to work/friends/town and having his gf stay over, so he knows he has to show willing too.

nuttymango · 05/06/2016 13:48

Ds, wait for it, has his notes organised in colour coded folders, all highlighted in different colour pens according to why he has highlighted it and different colour index cards for each subject with the appropriate colour ink! He also keeps his room tidy apart from three mouldy cups, maybe that's because he's doing biology

Auntpetunia2015 · 05/06/2016 13:50

OMG nutty sounds like me when I did mine. Wish DS was more like that he's more scraps of paper covered in his illegible to everyone (including himself Shock) scrawl

bigTillyMint · 05/06/2016 14:03

DD does all the notes in fancy colours and stuff, but she does not tidy up. DS, on the other hand, regularly doesn't do his homework scrawls stuff on cards (I think) and watches videos/does past papers and his room is immaculate!

AuntP, I was thinking of getting off that track and getting onto the healthy eating/losing weight one (with your DS) Grin

teta · 05/06/2016 15:01

My dd's office ( used to be mine : now relegated to a ledge in the kitchen) is a model of organisation.Everything us filed, color coordinated and noticeboard is up to date. Her room is a disaster Zone with clothes everywhere and wet towels on top and often the smell of spaniel (it's ddogs favourite place in the world)

LittleHoHum · 05/06/2016 15:15

My house is more of a mess than their bedrooms (which are the by far the neatest rooms) as my old downstairs carpets are ripped up, wet paint everywhere and furniture is outside at the moment.

I wouldn't have a leg to stand on if I complained about their bedrooms.

My tidy colour cordinated dd is away at university. The dd still at home is more of a blitz it every now and then personality.

Auntpetunia2015 · 05/06/2016 16:27

Ha btm am still on that track 3 stone down in 10 months and still keeping it off despite the evidence to the contrary in regard to the alcohol consumption.

Well car is clean and DS has gone the beach and I can't blame him it's glorious here 25• and not a cloud in the sky. As he said ..there is always tomorrow to revise Biology!!!

bigTillyMint · 05/06/2016 16:35

3 stone, AuntPShock - I'd be happy with half a stone!

DD is currently sunbathing in the back garden with DS and her friend - looks like they will be doing a lot of that this week!

Auntpetunia2015 · 05/06/2016 16:57

btm did that in the first week !

Am seriously going to have to control DS though just been in his room and he's got an empty pie case a family pie 3 rich tea packets and bottle of Ribena in his bin!! No green no fruit no real protein. He's just taken his pc to the repair shop so he won't be on that for the next few nights am going to get him out on his bike and he's agreed to walk the girlfriends dog so going to encourage that and go with him so he doesn't buy crap and has a proper walk.

bigTillyMint · 05/06/2016 17:31

Who ate all the pies?Grin

HSMMaCM · 05/06/2016 17:50

DD has her final exam tomorrow. She's had lunch with her Gran, put up a tent she might need in August and spent the afternoon with a boy friend who is "not a boyfriend ".

OP posts:
HSMMaCM · 05/06/2016 17:51

No pie wrappers here, just biscuit packets.

OP posts:
Auntpetunia2015 · 05/06/2016 17:54

hsmm. DS ate all the bloody pies!!

nuttymango · 05/06/2016 21:36

DS eats a shocking diet but at least will eat some fruit. He's been revising in his girlfriend's garden today, unfortunately without suncream. As he's ginger he now resembles a lobster :(

HSMMaCM · 06/06/2016 08:53

DD is off to her final AS exam this morning. As far as I can tell, the only revision was a couple of hours last night. My last words as she left - check the back page.
