Hello everyone, new thread for the final push.

OP posts:
TheSecondOfHerName · 14/06/2016 16:17

Haven't heard from DS1 about the History yet but I'm guessing his response will be that it was "OK"

More importantly, that was his last exam!

thesockgap · 14/06/2016 16:29

DS said history was "pretty good" but he ran out of time so couldn't write a conclusion to the last question. He thinks that's probably cost him a good 5 marks. Other than that though he seems quite positive. He's even more positive about the fact that he'll never have to do History again!
He's got an NCS Induction meeting this evening so won't have much time for revision, but I'm going to get him up tomorrow as if it were a normal school day, so he can revise Chemistry from approx. 8:30 - 12.30 - well that's the plan anyway, no doubt it'll be interspersed with doodling on his phone, as usual.
The end really is in sight now!

raspberryrippleicecream · 14/06/2016 16:33

DD did the same topics as Exit's DD. She like the Hitler and propaganda question, but thinks she messed up civil rights. She is desperate to do well as she is hoping to do history at uni.

Oh well. History done and dusted for now. Physics 1 tomorrow.

TheDrsDocMartens · 14/06/2016 16:34

Excellent second

Haven't seen dd1 but I read for history (American west) and thought it was a bit meh, nothing I felt I wanted to know more about, they may have felt more attuned to it.

flatmouse · 14/06/2016 16:45

raspberry physics 1 is so late in coming! Need him to get on and revise physics 2 but worried about confusion. At least it will be limited subjects now.

FantasyAndHope · 14/06/2016 16:47

DD liked history
Now to revise R.S and chemistry
Anyone else's DC's got R.S yesterday

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/06/2016 16:57

oh wow TheSecond. party time in your house tonight!

chemistry has been suitably crammed for. dd managed to answer over 2000 questions since Saturday night on Tassomai Confused Getting her to chill now so her brain can rest a bit. School have a revision session before hand tomorrow.

HesMyLobster · 14/06/2016 16:59

DD says her History was . . . OK! shocker! Grin
She said it was hard, but she expected it to be hard and it could have been a lot worse.

She's done a couple of hours of Chemistry revision and now off to 3 hours of dance practise.

She was planning to miss tonight's lesson in favour of chemistry cramming, but feels like she needs it. I trust her to know what's best for her own wellbeing and to weigh that with impact on revision. Chem isn't until the afternoon tomorrow so she says she'll cram in the morning.

8 exams to go . . .

HesMyLobster · 14/06/2016 17:04

Oh that's brilliant Second!
Not jealous at all . . . Envy!

Does it feel like a weight has been lifted? How's your ds feeling? How are you celebrating? Wine

starfleet · 14/06/2016 17:18

History was "good".

I'm waiting to see if any of the Chemistry, Physics or even the last Geography paper elicit any response other than "OK/Fine/Good/Meh".

BitOutOfPractice · 14/06/2016 17:34

DD said history was hard but that she coped with it OK.

That's another one down, two more to go

Icouldbeknitting · 14/06/2016 17:47

The history verdict was "it could have been worse". Tomorrow is the last full day as they've got Thursday afternoon off for football/study leave and can go home immediately after their last exam on Friday. I can see the finish line now.

FantasyAndHope · 14/06/2016 18:02

DD is shattered and cannot see the finish line as she has two (technically 3) R.S and Chemistry and then two exams Friday. DD just wants it all to end she's so so shattered

catslife · 14/06/2016 18:48

Chemistry tomorrow here too and Physics on Friday. One exam for each subject.
Must be a different exam board fantasy as RS exams were all finished before half term at dds school. I thought your dd was taking iGCSE Chemistry and that iGCSE exams were all ended now, but perhaps I am incorrect.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/06/2016 18:53

I think we can see the finish line here, even though there are 6 exams to go. They are getting spaced out enough that one can be focussed on at a time which makes it a bit easier.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/06/2016 19:04

There is still Edexcel chemistry igcse tomorrow.

FantasyAndHope · 14/06/2016 20:04

OCR R.S tomorrow cats
She is doing igcse sciences aqa
No she has chemistry tomorrow and physics friday

NicknameUsed · 14/06/2016 20:13

DD is shattered and headachey. 2 chemistry exams tomorrow and 2 physics on Friday, then that's it. DD has some parties lined up, but she just wants to sleep for a week.

Only 3 more days now. Good luck to everyone's DCs.

raspberryrippleicecream · 14/06/2016 20:22

Flat mouse I know! DD is still concentrating on Physics 1. I think she'll focus on Physics 2 after that.

NicknameUsed · 14/06/2016 20:31

I thought most exam boards had exams on the same day. Physics 1 was before half term for DD (AQA)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/06/2016 20:33

it's pretty confusing isn't it!

littledrummergirl · 14/06/2016 20:59

Chemistry tomorrow for ds1. He says he's revised for it over the last couple of days and is ready.I've been at work so I have been pleasantly surprised. Smile

TheSecondOfHerName · 14/06/2016 22:09

DS1 went straight from his last exam into town with his friends, and then back to one of their houses. I just picked him up and he said the History exam was...

...

...OK. 😂

TheSecondOfHerName · 14/06/2016 22:13

I'm not sure it's sunk in that he's finished. He wants to go to the gym tomorrow then start writing a CV and covering letter to apply for summer jobs. Most of his friends have also finished apart from those who are doing further maths at the end of June.

flatmouse · 14/06/2016 22:34

DS had a chance to think back on history. Probably the most feedback he's had for any. Seems his only concern is not having time to check at end, but he knew what he wanted to write and wrote loads (let's hope it all relevant!).
His friends who were on double science are all finishing this week. He's triple (OCR B) so has physics 1 tomorrow, biology 2 on Friday then chemistry 2 Monday, physics 2 Wednesday. Just 3 boxes of work left on dining room table!
