Hello everyone, new thread for the final push.

OP posts:

nicknames OCR B seems to be the only science out of step. It's caused some confusion along the way! They also do triple in 6 exams rather than 9.

TheDrsDocMartens · 15/06/2016 06:29

RS & Chemistry today. Then Physics Friday.

hewl · 15/06/2016 06:58

Dd disappointed with history as there were whole chunks that she didn't get to write about. She had 15 chapters in text book and exam was on 2 of them.

Chemistry today. The school have entered dd into foundation unit 2 which I wasn't happy about but felt I had to bow to their knowledge. We'll see!

BitOutOfPractice · 15/06/2016 07:17

hewl DD felt the same. The paper didn't touch on two of the three major topics she studied at all. Seems so pointless to me!

thesockgap · 15/06/2016 07:28

Chemistry this afternoon, then that'll be another subject completely done!
He was saying last night, with 25 exams down and 5 to go, that he was 5/6 of the way through, but after today he'll be 9/10 of the way! Think he really is starting to see the light now. It'll be such a relief to get them out of the way.

Iwantacampervan · 15/06/2016 07:41

Chemistry 2 & 3 this afternoon - then only 4 more to go!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/06/2016 07:47

Will be interesting to see if he does those worthwhile things TheSecond or slumps into a long lasting sleep Grin

I did think 'how crazy' 9 exams for science, But the way they have split them, so that 2 and 3 are taken consecutively makes it seem less. I think that p3 and c3 have less new content than the predecessing modules.

Trufflethewuffle · 15/06/2016 08:23

Waved the boys off this morning. DS3 has chemistry this afternoon, then just physics on Friday.
DS1 and 2 have their last AS this morning so we are near to the return of normality, whatever that is.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/06/2016 08:35

Nearly there Truffle :)

NorbertDentressangle · 15/06/2016 08:56

Today is the first day that I've actually felt that the end is in sight!

DD has 3 exams today ( General Studies and 2x Chemistry) which just leaves Physics tomorrow and General Studies again on Monday.

I'm getting ready to breathe out the most massive sigh of relief!

hewl · 15/06/2016 09:33

Dd has a fab party to go to on Friday night, I'm forever grateful to the mum who organised it as I am crap at doing parties!

ExitPursuedByBear · 15/06/2016 10:04

DD has far too much going on this coming weekend and I am concerned that it has shifted her focus from revision. She keeps telling me that she is 'buzzing for the summer' but I keep throwing a damp squib into the works expecting more revision.

Plus my broken toe means I cannot do her horse for her in the evenings so she is having to do that when she gets home from school before starting revising.

Chemistry and Physics are her least favourite subjects but she could get an A if she buckled down to some serious cramming. I doubt that will happen now.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/06/2016 11:09

Buzzing for the summer Grin She needs to buzz back to her hive Exit and keep making honey! The horse stuff will be good for her though.

I'm hoping the Tassomai binge has helped. dd was working through her revision guide this morning and declared that she knew most of it. Time will tell.

ShanghaiDiva · 15/06/2016 12:06

DS has FINISHED!
AS maths paper S1 went well today and that's it! Am enjoying a lovely glass of sav blanc on DS's behalf! (he is only 15!)
DS doesn't finish school until 8th July, but school trip starts on 24th June and the last week is just house competitions so he can now relax. A level maths lessons start this week and he has AS Chemistry (which he loves) so the next 10 days or so should be fine.
Good luck to everyone who still has exams!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/06/2016 12:18

Yay Shanghai! How fantastic. All done

ExitPursuedByBear · 15/06/2016 12:47

Luck you Shanghai!

Enjoy the Wine

BitOutOfPractice · 15/06/2016 12:59

Just about to take DD in for her penultimate exam. How exciting does that sound?

ShanghaiDiva · 15/06/2016 13:13

Yay BOOP - you will soon be enjoying the wine!

FantasyAndHope · 15/06/2016 13:28

DD has had R.S went well she said now for chemistry which she isn't prepared for. Then after today only 3 exams left Shock DD is happy than after today she's on the home straight

BitOutOfPractice · 15/06/2016 13:53

My birthday celebrations tomorrow will be on hold until after Friday's last exam then the wine shall indeed flow

derektheladyhamster · 15/06/2016 15:50

Chemistry 'wasnt too bad' I hope that's positive, he needs an A*!

NicknameUsed · 15/06/2016 15:52

Blimey thesockgap how many subjects is your son taking to have so many exams?

DD did 2 GCSEs in year 10 and one in January, so she had 7 subjects left - 16 exams.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/06/2016 16:16

For once DD actually said chemistry was "easy" Shock

She said that the exact question she had done from a past paper this morning came up word for word!

She's having the rest of the day winding her sister up and getting stuck into Physics tomorrow

EllenJanethickerknickers · 15/06/2016 16:24

DS2 said that Chemistry (OCR 21st Century Additional Science) went well! First time in ages he hasn't just said OK. Grin

Only one more left. Physics on Friday morning, yippee! Just a shame he's at his father's this weekend. Poor old DS1 isn't even halfway through his A2s, 4 down, 5 to go.

jodee · 15/06/2016 16:26

Hooray for your DS, Shanghai !

Happy birthday BitoutofPractice, that wine shall indeed taste all the sweeter.

Sooooo glad Chemistry out of the way, DS thought he did OK, just Physics on Friday and Resistant Materials tomorrow, and he has done no revision for either of them so far, seems to have run out of steam concentrating on History (he thinks that was OK but doesn't think he has written enough content).
