Thanks Hocus. Dd is off to Florence with her best friend tomorrow and they will be celebrating as her best friend got an excellent result in her IB. Good luck to anyone else getting IB results today!

It looks fantastic, MrsB. I'm glad your DD had a lovely time - it looks like something my DD would adore too. Thanks for posting the pictures!

MrsBartlet · 06/07/2015 13:08

Lol muffinmonster - dd and I did say we could set ourselves up as party planners after this Grin

Horsemad · 06/07/2015 16:17

MrsB - gorgeous party setting, looks amazing. Smile

DS is much better thanks, he was a bit apprehensive going back, but was fine this time.

DS is 18 today!!!! He's dragged me out shopping for new clothes for him, he's never been bothered about clothes before, what's happened???! Confused Grin

Littleham · 07/07/2015 16:41

Happy 18th to Horsemad's ds. Smile

What a beautiful party MrsB. I love the book theme.

Two of my dc are on holiday with friends (Spain, UK), one is on a school trip (France) & just one at home. It feels weirdly silent. Funny how you wish for silence but when you get it..... However I am receiving text updates.

DD got her IB results on Monday, they are lower than the requirement for Cambridge, but they have not rejected her, yet, so we are now in a waiting game to se if they will take her or not. I wish they would make a decision if they do not want her then she can get on sorting out her insurance, but we may have to wait until the A'levels are out. I think she will be telling them to take a running jump by then. Smile

MrsBartlet · 09/07/2015 12:19

Sorry to hear that welshpixie. Lots of the girls at dd's school who did the IB missed their first choices including several with Oxbridge offers. Somewhat ironically, dd's best friend who was rejected by Cambridge scored more highly than most of the offers given out by them! Did your dd get enough for her insurance and would she be happy with that?

What a shame welshpixie. It is a crazy system isn't it? I guess they are waiting for the A Level results to come out.

What is her insurance? Might be a good idea to plan a visit during the summer holidays.

Hope they accept her welshpixie, fingers crossed for her.

welshpixie · 09/07/2015 16:17

Thanks everyone, her insurance is unconditional for Leicester she is seriously thinking about telling Cambridge no.It doesn't help we are in the process of moving house and at the moment we are staying with my parents, if something can go wrong this last week it has done. She just wants it sorted and I have to say the admins in Leicester have been so nice and accommodating she just wants some stability bless her.

Horsemad · 09/07/2015 16:19

5 wks today until A level results Shock wish the results were all announced at the same time.

NiceCardigan · 10/07/2015 12:38

Sorry to hear that welshpixie it's not very nice to have waited for results and still have no conclusion.

Horsemad · 10/07/2015 15:18

What is she wanting to study welshpixie - is it medicine?
