Best of luck Horsemad, hope it goes well! I can't believe its only a week since DS finished, feels like much longer!

Horsemad · 24/06/2015 10:41

Thanks for all the good wishes, these threads have preserved my (borderline) sanity these past few months! Grin

circular · 24/06/2015 12:51

Apologies Littleham - won't mention it again

Prom next week here. Much lower key that in yr11, also different school but even so Dd Won't wear same dress or shoes. Still waiting for my orders on how many I am likely to be driving there and back.

Horsemad · 24/06/2015 16:34

That's it, we are finished, woohooooooooo! Grin

Took DS for lunch then a rabies jab and an ice cream and he's now plugged in to his PC, so I'll not hear from him now until he wants feeding again Wink

Exam was fine he said, so that is that Smile

Thanks all for putting up with me Smile you are all brilliant. Flowers

hellsbells99 · 24/06/2015 16:55

Well done to those just crossing the finishing line. Just dropped DS off at school as they had hired a red double decker bus to take them all to the prom venue. Feeling a bit maudlin now.

Horsemad · 24/06/2015 22:35

Ha ha Littleham, thank you Smile I love the double decker bus idea NiceCardigan! DS is being driven to his prom by me! Grin
Miffy - cheers, it's a good feeling, isn't it? Smile

circular · 24/06/2015 23:49

So glad its all over for everyone.
Love the bus idea too.

MrsBartlet · 25/06/2015 06:36

Phew - well done to those who had to stick it through to the bitter end! Now relax Grin

Dd missed her prom last night as she has a horrible cold and had a bout of dizziness which kept her awake all of Tuesday night. She was very worried that she was going to get labyrinthitis again but I am hoping it is just because her head was all bunged up. Since she had labyrinthistis in Y11 she does have a tendency towards dizziness as a symptom when she is ill. She seemed a lot better towards the end of yesterday but she would not have been well enough to go out. She wasn't too bothered as they had a prom in Y11 as well.

They did the double decker bus thing for the Y11 prom - it picked lots of them up from a pre-prom party that all the parents attended as well so we were able to get photos. It was lovely. It is an indication of how unfussed they all were about this prom that none of them had booked any transport and were all using parents and taxis!

Happy holidays all!

Phew! ds1 finished yesterday too. ds2 has been doing GCSEs too and they both had very early and very late exams in the schedule. So between them have had 36 examination papers over the past 7 weeks...!

I need a drink.

AmazingDisgrace · 25/06/2015 08:17

Well done everyone (and the DC Wink ) We made it! Now the wait...

Decorhate · 25/06/2015 21:10

Just finished tidying up after having a dozen or so here for drinks pre-prom. Glad we are not the post-prom venue!

Presentation evening at school here tonight. DS got an award for 'services to school' which was nice (I think it's for being in various bands and choirs, in his case).

Prom next Monday - got very confusing, as there are two venues nearby with similar names, and headmaster mentioned the wrong one in his speech. Have visions of half the year turning up at the wrong venue.

DH and I are off on a holiday (just us) next week. DD2 is providing chauffeuring duties for DS prom night, so need to make sure they know where they're going.

Decorhate · 27/06/2015 07:47

Dd's Y11 prom was in a converted barn with similar name to posh hotel. Ticket didn't make clear which it was. Hotel was not impressed when hoards of teens turned up!

circular · 27/06/2015 18:09

Prom here not till next week. So low key, DD couldn't even remember date an time till yesterday. Still no arrangements made as to who is travelling with who.
Had leavers day this week, seemed fairly indifferent.
Still has to go in for some concert rehearsals and instrument lessons over next couple of weeks, so not really feeling 'final' for her yet.

Awards evening is done, prom is done, various 18th parties including Dd's still on-going.
I'm not sure DD has had much time to unwind yet and I know she is still having panicky exam type dreams. Roll on our holiday...

HocusUcas · 27/06/2015 21:47

DS has been away for a trip with his friends this week. Apart from me saying tell me you landed safely and him replying "landed safely" absolute radio silence until (as predicted) - phone call this evening to say all going well and "Oh just one other thing - would it be ok for you to pick me up from the airport" Grin . At least he is alive and doesn't sound too shattered.
