Only another week to go for DD, but I know some of you have two weeks.

Me too. It would be a lot more interesting than what's usually in there!

thunderbird69 · 12/06/2015 12:32

Physics here too - penultimate exam

Had to text DS to remind him to get to the bus stop in plenty of time and then again to make sure he is on it. Fortunately he is, so I don't have to go on a mad dash out of work to pick him up and take him to school (as I did last week!!)

dingit · 12/06/2015 13:22

I'm grateful for dds 10 min walk. If she gets her grades, two buses for her next year!

Bearleigh · 12/06/2015 13:33

^DD is still laid back and happy, especially about a Philosophy question that came up today in the science and religion bit about do we still need religion.
She's a profound scientist atheist^

DS had that question too and loved answering it for the same reason.

tbtc that's good news.

Bearleigh · 12/06/2015 13:34

Forgive the crap formatting. Oh for an edit button...

Littleham · 12/06/2015 13:41

tbtc Well done to your ds. Good luck to him. Smile

HSMMaCM · 12/06/2015 13:50

Line runner I'm incredibly offended hides the gin

This thread has kept me sane for weeks.... DD just gone in for last exam and it's last time she'll be in that school as she is going somewhere else for two years now... I feel a teensy bit emosh about it, moving on, fresh starts etc, DD is oblivious apparently and doesn't feel the same way, which is good i suppose.

Collapses in heap

LineRunner · 12/06/2015 14:12

Kbear, it is odd, isn't it, after 5 years?

DS is going to have to get the train to College as opposed to his easy ten minute walk at present. God knows where he'll end up.

I wonder how Physics is going?

GloriaSmud · 12/06/2015 14:17

DD1 should be doing her last exam at the moment. I too had a little as I dropped her off an hour ago when I realised it's really her last day as a GCSE student. Next time she's at school will be in 2 weeks time for A-level induction day.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/06/2015 14:17

tbtc - that is lovely news. Smile

So is the idea of there being a gin day, even though I don't have any - being envious or dog-in-the-manger-ish only makes you miserable. We don't drink much (DH has too many meds going through his liver for it to be a good idea) but we do have a few bottles of nice cider - I should make sure one is chilling. We sip it from small wineglasses! Grin DD is as yet entirely puritanical (though if she'd done philosophy she'd have loved that question likewise).

LineRunner · 12/06/2015 14:46

tbtc Glad you got good news.

Juggling how's things on the home front? OH and I are determined to have a pleasant evening together trying not to be all stressed - but I just burnt the dinner I was making into oblivion. Grin I hope you have a really good evening with your family.

MEgirl · 12/06/2015 14:49

Last exam for us today as well. Waiting to hear how they did. I'm so glad that it is all over. The reactions from both boys have been slightly different but all in all feel they have done their best.

bigTillyMint · 12/06/2015 14:53

tbtc well done to your DS!

Hope DD's physics went OK, just History on Tues to go now thank God! She is very tired and desperately needs a break. I told her last night that I felt exhausted too as I have lived every minute of it with her!

JugglingFromHereToThere · 12/06/2015 15:10

I hope I didn't cause any confusion with my limes ... Envy
I should perhaps have thrown in some lemons too, that might have helped ... Grin
I'm a very visual thinker and was just playing around with them

dd back from last exam now. She's relieved and happy. I'm still feeling knackered.

Hope those celebrating in whatever way have a good evening & weekend and everyone has a good rest x

JugglingFromHereToThere · 12/06/2015 15:15

Thanks LineRunner Thanks
Yes, things are feeling much better here thanks. There's a definite sense of relief in the air all round

ErrolTheDragon · 12/06/2015 15:16

No, subverting the Envy as a lime was good (though I think it appears as a green heart on mobile devices, which is odd when people use it for boak!)

JugglingFromHereToThere · 12/06/2015 15:23

dd just said to me "thanks for being useful and everything" before going up for a shower and a sleep before the DGP's arrive.

Isn't that sweet of her? Smile

HSMMaCM · 12/06/2015 15:24

DD said core physics went badly despite the fact it was common sense last night hey ho. It's done now.

Adding myself to the list on the finish line.

HSMMaCM · 12/06/2015 15:24

Juggling. That's lovely.

bigTillyMint · 12/06/2015 15:31

Aww juggling, that's lovely.

LineRunner · 12/06/2015 15:34

HSMM I don't know if our DCs did the same Physics paper but DS is home and says the final question (9 marks) was a real bugger, so it may be that it has left your DD with a final negative impression?

He says the rest of the paper was ok.

And yes, there were Waves!

SugarPlumTree · 12/06/2015 15:50

TBTC that is lovely news. Juggling high praise indeed !

DD'S hair currently sprayed blue and I grudging have to admit it kind of suits her.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/06/2015 15:54

Wow, Juggling, that's the teenage equivalent of a medal isn't it? Star

ErrolTheDragon · 12/06/2015 15:57

As to hair colour - DH for some reason agreed to dye his green if she gets a certain number of A*, with a stripe for any over and above. That would definitely not suit a bald 54yo!
