Only another week to go for DD, but I know some of you have two weeks.

Brilliant gin!

LotusLight · 17/06/2015 17:40

Lovely photo.

We've postponed our photos until the weekend as the house is full of decorators making comments.

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2015 17:47

Aww at those photos.

I forgot to take any last week and DS will not put the uniform back on now. Sad

He's had a week of lolling about and relaxing now. he's getting on my nerves.

dingit · 17/06/2015 18:11

Gin, hasn't he grown Smile

Sparkling, I wonder if that will be me this time next week, although she does have a full week.

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2015 18:27

Well next week he has 2 6th Form Induction days dingit so he will need to apply himself for those.
He's constantly foraging for food and has been on the PS4 an awful lot. There is talk of leaving the house tomorrow to go 'out' somewhere but I'm not in all day so will not be involved.

We had a bit of an argument today and we are communicating by text currently.

dingit · 17/06/2015 18:32

I can see that happening with us.
Next week she has dentist, day mooching in London with boyfriend, Wicked with me, hairdressers for highlights ( her first everSmile), and then Prom day.
Her induction days are the following week.

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2015 18:38

Ooh yes the Prom is on 3/7. It cost £25 but they have to take money for 'photos and drinks'. Confused It's only at the school too.

That sounds like a nice week for her dingit. Ds1 has a dentist appointment on Friday which is unreasonable apparently. Hmm

bigTillyMint · 17/06/2015 19:51

Sparkling, you have made me feel better - we have just had shouting/screeching and are currently not talking!

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2015 19:55

Ah lovely Tilly, was it about anything exciting?

I asked DS to do some of DS2's paper round as DS2 had come home from school not feeling well. You would have thought I had asked for the moon on a stick. The attitude. Angry

bigTillyMint · 17/06/2015 20:05

Nothing exciting. It's the attitude here tooAngry

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2015 20:12

Hopefully it's temporary Tilly. He has been really good throughout the exams- I thought there would more arguments then.

dingit · 17/06/2015 20:13

Dd and I are best mates ( at the moment anyway). We've been running together Smile
Me and ds on the other hand grrrrr. He has major gititis.

bigTillyMint · 17/06/2015 20:16

Mmm, she was pretty good through the exams although there was the odd outburst. It's to do with self-centred toddler-like behaviour. Hopefully it'll calm down again as the stress lifts.

Their Prom is also £25 - contribution towards the cost. No mention of photos/drinks so far.

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2015 20:24

Any 'after Prom' goings on? Ds not going to 'after prom' so he says. That would have been even more ££ and involved needing a lift home from the middle of nowhere at 4am.

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2015 20:24

How old is DS dingit?

LynetteScavo · 17/06/2015 20:29

DS wasn't happy with physics (OCR) today. He said he couldn't do three of the questions. He talked at length about the questions but I have to admit what he was saying meant nothing to me. Blush He said the last physics paper was much easier.

He's in a really good mood today though. Only product design to go now!

Prom ticket was £35- it's in a hotel nowhere near where we live. Us mums wanted a limo for the 4 boys. The boys couldn't have cared less, so we stropped, shoved our credit cards back in our purses and told them DH would give them a lift.

The year book is somewhat of a saga....I paid: the money was refunded. DS said he didn't want one....they are now £15....but do I care? Hmm

dingit · 17/06/2015 20:31

He's 13, nearly 14. We've had a big row at the orthodontist today, as he hasn't been cleaning his teeth properly, and his brace is going to have to come off. He's still stomping around now as he has to put special bands on for bed. Deep joy.

LynetteScavo · 17/06/2015 20:32

DS wants to go on a post exam pre prom camping trip. In random woods. When DH and I are both at work.

The answer is NO but I'm waiting for his friends parents to say no first so I don't look like the bad guy. Wink

dingit · 17/06/2015 20:34

Lynette our prom is the same £35, yearbook £15. It's about a mile down the road, I told dd she can get the bus Smile

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2015 20:34

Year Book here was £20. DS was not in school when the photos were taken and they wrote the bits about themselves. So there's his school pic with a generic 'good luck to all' type message. Hmm

The things some of his mates have written in the back mean we haven't been allowed to see it and probably never will. Great. Hmm it looks very professional.

Sparklingbrook · 17/06/2015 20:37

OMG dingit I have a 13 year old DS who has just had an 'anchor' fitted before he gets a brace in August. Foul mood as well.

He has been given the teeth cleaning lecture and shown pictures of not very good cleaning by the orthodontist. Scary.

Good call on the camping trip Lynette.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/06/2015 20:46

AFAIK DD's school doesn't do a yearbook. Perhaps they do one in yr 13 along with the prom then.

Dingit, sorry your DS is being a git. Maybe he's fed up with himself for being an idiot about the cleaning. They really do have to be good if they've got a brace - avoiding sugary/carbonated drinks too.

Littleham · 17/06/2015 20:48

My dd is going away soon to a Youth Hostel with friends. Slightly scary. Have done the full list of 'mother safety talks'. She looks at me like this - Hmm

LynetteScavo · 17/06/2015 21:33

Lovely photos Gin! Smile

HSMMaCM · 17/06/2015 21:50

DD is going to an after prom at s friends house until 3am and has helpfully arranged a sleepover at someone else's house, so I don't have to get up in the middle of the night.
