Only another week to go for DD, but I know some of you have two weeks.

fun OH's DD has a massive workbook full of them which the school gave her. There must be stuff online, too? She is likely to be in the same boat - keeps getting Ds in mocks / practices, and she needs that C.

She gets very anxious.

Oooh new thread!
Thanks HSMM.
Think it is a great idea carrying on,though DD's school had Prom before the exams so will be a little nostalgic hearing about all the dresses... Anything you want to ask, it's very fresh Smile
Re Induction days DD two choices are on the same day which is bad timing.

Biology AQA today ok, some of the 8 mark questions combined several topics (seaweed one) and time very tight, DD used all of her 25% extra.
Just two Maths to go next week.

switchitoff · 05/06/2015 18:02

DS says his Biology paper had 8 questions, the first of which was long and wordy. DS worked his way through the first question (he's a slow reader), then looked at the clock and realised he only had half the time left!! Shock So he had to go like the clappers through the rest of the paper. Says he only missed one 2-mark question out, so it doesn't sound too bad.

I can't believe all these schools offering weekend revision sessions! Goodness me, those teachers must be dedicated. DS is out with his mates now; there's no way I could get him to do any revision tonight.

And yes, the boy at DS' school whose mobile bleeped in the exam was disqualified for all the exams by that board. So a complete disaster.

LineRunner · 05/06/2015 18:06

There's a very unfortunate poster recently started a thread about her chaotic (her word) son's mobile going off today in Biology. Nightmare. I can't begin to imagine the stress and worry waiting for the result of the incident report.

BobOmb · 05/06/2015 18:10

1st chemistry exam today - think dd must be in the minority doing this board as everyone else seems to have taken biology today!

Dd is absolutely exhausted - she fell asleep at 8pm last night which is unheard of. She's still got 5 exams next week and 3 the week after - I can only imagine how tired she'll be by the end of next week.

tbtc · 05/06/2015 18:11

Is no one else doing Italian on the 22nd June? I'll be rattling around here all on my own while your DCs are partying!

CandyCrushLoco · 05/06/2015 18:12

That best guess paper site is dated 2014, just thought I'd mention it in case it's not likely to be relevant.

noblegiraffe · 05/06/2015 18:14

Bother, yes don't use that predicted paper, it's last year's.

This year's papers are here justmaths.co.uk/2015/06/05/best-guess-june-2015/

LynetteScavo · 05/06/2015 18:14

22nd June is Product Design here.

I was just printing of some Just Maths questions the school had emailed. As they were printing out DS pressed the off button and said. "If I don't know it now, I never will."

Anyone heard anything about Chemistry?

ErrolTheDragon · 05/06/2015 18:15

Oh no, poor kid. I really doubt many kids are stupid enough to try to use their mobiles to cheat, so these draconian rules will hammer 'chaotic' kids. I do hope there is some sort of appeal possible.

wed99 · 05/06/2015 18:16

DD said Biology was good - which was great after Add maths and the tricky Maths yesterday. We have 5 exams next week then History the week after. So pleased the end is in sight.

Littleham · 05/06/2015 18:16

The mobile thing is a bit harsh. It isn't as though they could cheat if it is in a bucket somewhere. What meanies.

My dd1 at Uni is still very ill and has had to miss her exams. Re-scheduled exams might clash with our holiday. At least we are in the UK so there may be a mad scramble to get her back. Yet MORE revision over the summer. Sad

Not quite sure who to worry about first between dd1, A Level dd and GCSE dd & neglected ds.

BobOmb · 05/06/2015 18:20

Lynette - dd did chemistry, she said it was okay and had no balancing equations (which she was happy about) but hasn't said much more about it.

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/06/2015 18:22

Thank you noble I'll email my friend a link to that website. I've had a look at the 2015 predictions and it does cover lots of the stuff she has been working on so fingers crossed she'll do it this time.

Thank you fun DD1 said she fully intended on de-stressing thoroughly Wink this evening. If Gloria is around I hope she isn't planning on going out tonight. She may bump into a large group of de-stressed Ancient History students Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/06/2015 18:24

No worries noble I did see it was last year and searched for this year's predictions. It's a great site so thank you for the link.

TeenAndTween · 05/06/2015 18:27

Little I know what you mean about neglected siblings. DD2 is only 10, and it has been hard giving her attention over the past weeks. Luckily she is being mollified by receiving a small present after each of DD1's exams (DD1 is getting one too - they are going down well).

BobOmb · 05/06/2015 18:33

The phone thing is one of our worries and is very much something dd would do - she could also be described as chaotic. We've got round this by leaving the phone at home and organising exact times and places to be picked up (her schools 15 miles away with limited public transport). It's like living in the olden days.

BobOmb · 05/06/2015 18:38

Meant to add as well that all watches at dd's school are being checked before exams to make sure no one's got a smart watch as that'll also result in disqualification.

stayathomegardener · 05/06/2015 18:43

With two exams to go may have to insist DD leaves hers at home.
Ughhh imagine being disqualified now.

Angelto5 · 05/06/2015 19:01

My son takes his battery out of his phone so there's no way it was going off in the middle of an exam-I thought he was mad but this thread has proved he's very sensible!Blush

HSMMaCM · 05/06/2015 19:04

DD always has her phone on silent without vibrate and never sets any alarms and doesn't have any pockets in her school uniform, so hopefully she's ok. I have told her to switch it off though anyway.

bigTillyMint · 05/06/2015 19:16

Littleham that sounds awful for you all. Sympathies.

DD seems OK, if mono - syllabic to me and has gone off to babysit. DS has just gone round to his mates so DH and I have the sofa to ourselves.

auntpetunia · 05/06/2015 19:38

Oh god the phone thing has been my biggest nightmare. But ds who could also be described as caotic has the advantage of having a scribe who takes it off him and leaves it on the teachers desk. It's always of silent anyway as not allowed in school to have them on. Biology was aparently easy as!

In school 9,30 till 12 tomorrow for maths revision and then I've been informed he's on study leave so only in for set revision sessions and the exams.

Have been told not to disturb him on Monday as he's planning on revising sleeps regenerative properties on 15 year old male! !Grin

Thank god it's the weekend and the back of these exams are now over, just got to keep going till 19th.

MrsSquirrel · 05/06/2015 19:52

DD is paranoid about the phone thing. She puts it on silent, then switches off.
