DD's third prom dress has been altered and fits beautifully (photo with her permission).

History on Monday as well. Crime and Punishment. German and Additional Maths on Wednesday.

I agree dingit - looking forward to the end of half term now. DD had a break to go shopping this afternoon as her eyes were looking red ringed and puffy.

Littleham · 29/05/2015 16:41

Lovely dress. Smile

SodiumReindeer · 29/05/2015 16:44

Lotus look on the bright side, it was a bit of biology revision.....

dingit · 29/05/2015 16:57

Oh good littleham, someone to talk about additional maths to on Wednesday!
Need to log on to full site to see that dress...

dingit · 29/05/2015 16:59

Stunning Hamm, when is her prom?

dingit · 29/05/2015 16:59

Hamm? HSMM

TeenAndTween · 29/05/2015 17:03

Lovely dress (my DD would adore that colour).

Fairenuff · 29/05/2015 17:10

She is gorgeous HSM, dress is lovely, really suits her.

Horsemad · 29/05/2015 17:12

Oh I love that dress HSMM, beautiful colour and your DD looks fantastic. Smile

tbtc · 29/05/2015 17:13

That's a beautiful dress. So elegant.

canny1234 · 29/05/2015 17:21

Thats lovely Hsmm!Your dd looks very poised.
My dd1's dress is bright green and strapless - thats why it needs to fit properly - Grrr Granma Canny.I think I will have to ask my sister to retrieve it from my parents house and send it back to us.

HSMMaCM · 29/05/2015 17:27

Canny - prom dress MkII was strapless and a bit of a concern. This one will stay put while she parties the night away. I did contemplate putting a couple of clear straps on the other dress, which she could remove/add if necessary.

and thanks for the comments. I think she's gorgeous of course, but it's nice to hear other people say so. She has had a really pants year and deserves a treat.

HSM, your DD looks lovelySmile

Went to see your alterations lady Spud (lovely!) and it's not as big a job as I thought - DD now just has to decide whether that's what she wants. She is very tired and was saying she wasn't sure about going to the prom earlier...

Littleham · 29/05/2015 17:43

Just out of curiosity.... Do most of you live in the vicinity of London / SE? Lots of people keep mentioning being in the London area.

Anyone else from the sticks?

canny1234 · 29/05/2015 17:53

Me!
Rural w.Midland sticks

Littleham · 29/05/2015 17:58

We might be related. Grin

My family originate from W. Midlands and I have 31 first cousins. Have never met anyone with more!

Horsemad · 29/05/2015 18:00

Lincolnshire, out in the sticks. Which has its good and bad sides! Grin

TheWordFactory · 29/05/2015 18:08

We split our time ( though not strictly) between Central London and the Home Counties ( where we are both rural and close to commuter train links).

The prom dress is lovely Grin.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 29/05/2015 18:14

Oh, I'm not far from all you stix people either - quite near to being a Fenlander. Was quite entertaining last summer when we were able to enter our Fen boy (born and raised) into the U14's Fell race whilst on holiday in the Lakes - he never heard the end of it!

GranSteadsRhubarb · 29/05/2015 18:24

We're out in the sticks as well in a place where cousins marry cousins and you daren't insult anybody because they are all related Grin

dingit · 29/05/2015 18:28

That sounds very grand word!
South easterner here ( very boring) but only 30 mins from city, 20 mins to gatwick, 45 mins to Brighton, so there are advantages Smile

LotusLight · 29/05/2015 18:32

Looks lovely. Girls that age look about 5 years older than boys... thinking about my scruffy 16 year old boys in comparison (although they scrubbed up reasonably well, into morning dress even, for their sister's wedding).

History seems to be what is being revised here today although they have breaks to play (not sure what game) on a big pull up cinema screen I bought earlier this year for an unused living room and has been very popular

(Outer London zone 5).

TheWordFactory · 29/05/2015 18:34

We're a long way short of grand dingit Grin.

Basically when we moved out of London we didn't sell our last flat but rented it out.

Years later the commute was seriously getting to DH and I'd been offered a part time position in one of the London universities that I really fancied trying and DS was toying with school in London at 13, so we moved back into our flat when our last tenant moved out.

We split our time as the week dictates/as we fancy. A lot of the study leave has taken place in the house because there's a lot more room and a garden etc.
