4 already, goodness. :)

Yup, English Lit (OCR), 90 mins of heritage prose and poetry.

LineRunner · 21/05/2015 18:34

Yes, DS has poetry. He looks thrilled. Like this Confused

He says he did well in maths this morning though.

His exams seem to on forever. Half term next week, then another three weeks of the buggers.

Ginandtonictime · 21/05/2015 18:36

poetry - 45 mins comparison of known poems, 30 mins unseen poem ...

75 mins of purgatory ... but our first subject completed! Woohoo!

Littleham · 21/05/2015 18:40

Yes - in the morning. DD has the same face Confused

HSMMaCM · 21/05/2015 18:58

DD decided to go and watch the AS drama students doing their show this evening, as apparently you can't revise for English Grin

LineRunner · 21/05/2015 18:59

He's in his room but I suspect he may not be reading poetry. Possibly Reddit. But not pomes. Grin

SoupDragon · 21/05/2015 19:00

DS is revising for his FIFA 15 exam Hmm

He has nothing until after half term though :)

LineRunner · 21/05/2015 19:07

My OH's DD also has the same exam tomorrow. Two households in wonderful GCSE turmoil.

I think we're planning to watch Eurvision on Saturday night and get plastered. Smile

stayathomegardener · 21/05/2015 19:18

Signing in to thread 4.
English Lit here tomorrow morning too.
DD's English teacher has emailed to make sure she only answers one of the two question choices on part two this time!

spudmasher · 21/05/2015 19:28

Yup, English tomorrow. Dd was just telling me about how her teacher became tearful whilst discussing a poem describing a love affair. Something to do with Paris. She thought it was funny and says that she'll get the giggles if that one comes up!

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/05/2015 20:01

Checking in from HOME GrinGrinGrin

DD having a snooze and is prepared to waffle give it her all tomorrow "They're all about sex anyway" Grin and you can't revise for the unseen poem. I can't fault her logic.

auntpetunia · 21/05/2015 20:05

Quickly popping in to say hello. DS has English tomorrow but not poetry exam table says wjec gcse, he's adamant it inspector calls tomorrow. Not that he's revising. Oh no he's killing klingons Again

bigTillyMint · 21/05/2015 20:11

Woolly, that's great!

DD has IGCSE - poetry and unseen? She and her mate have been revising all day. ApparentlyWink

Bearleigh · 21/05/2015 20:30

DS is doing iGCSE poems tomorrow too. I don't know which board they swap around - and for some subjects he's doing 'ordinary' GCSE, not iGCSE.

That Paris poem is OK - I couldn't help but think of "We'll always have Paris" from Casablanca when I read it...

bigTillyMint · 21/05/2015 20:32

I have no idea what poems DD is looking at, but I think there's an anthology. They were talking about iambic pentameters earlierConfused

AutumnFades · 21/05/2015 21:11

WJEC English Lit. here tomorrow.

Littleham · 21/05/2015 21:32

WJEC board too.

The thunderclouds are building. Hmm

HSMMaCM · 21/05/2015 21:43

When offered hot chocolate, DD said "only if it doesn't have that skin on it". Now normally I wouldn't accept that perfectly reasonable request back chat, but she has some leeway at the moment.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/05/2015 21:46

AQA Eng lit for mine too - the sex 'relationships' theme in the anthology (includes 'Paris') and the unseen. She revised pretty much all day but we've just had two episodes of Enterprise which is far more to her taste. (Klingons rescued, not killed).

AuntP - some of the boards do the Eng lit the other way round from others. I think WJEC was the one which caused the thread about whether 'Lilacs' was appropriate as an unseen poem. So your DS is probably right that he has his appointment with the Inspector tomorrow whereas others have already done that.

Glad you're home with your DD, Wooley - a snooze will do her more good than re-reading poems, and she's right that at this stage there's nowt they can do about the unseen.

LineRunner · 21/05/2015 21:50

I think DS is planning to go off piste.

Horsemad · 21/05/2015 22:24

No exams for DS2 until after half term now Smile

cleanmachine · 21/05/2015 23:14

Flippin eck. Saw some of the relationship poems earlier today, some pretty racy ones in there. No more revision going on here as they're 'all crap' apparently.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 21/05/2015 23:35

dd has poetry tomorrow - Edexcel, seen and unseen - sounds almost biblical or is that just me?!
My friend's boy (who I've been tutoring) has similar but iGCSE

Hope they both get good questions for them - and the same for everyone here too X (that's my fingers crossed for good papers for tomorrow)

Then half-term!
Yay Smile

Twirlwirlywoo · 21/05/2015 23:37

My DD has Eng Lit tomorrow morning and then thats her until (IGCSE) History after half term!

I cannot wait to have her home.I have missed her so much.

LotusLight · 22/05/2015 06:46

Good luck to everyone today. My 2 have English lit (second paper) on a book and it's iGCSE. Not sure of the board - I cannot keep track. Last one before half term and only 45 minutes.
