Are you ready? What's everyone got planned for Thursday? I'm going to my school to check on results, then wait for DD to call me from her school, with her news.

It's going to be an emotional day! Possibly not personally with DD, not expecting any top results, but she does already has Maths and English in the bag. She had what she needs to move forward and that's all that matters.

I have another 120 kids at my school and one or two who I care very much about. Can't wait to be there for them.

DS2 (yr10) took 3 early, as well as the seperate science and Maths modules. Poor thing is really nervous, although sleeping through it ATM! The 3 he took early, History, RE, English Lang are the ones DS1 got 100% in, so he is worried about if he gets lower than an A. I have told him I shall be proud of him whatever, he worked hard, is a bright lad and Science and Maths are his thing, but I don't know, it's become a bit of a competition!

We can't go in until lunchtime because they want the year 11s to have picked up their's first!

Good luck to everyone's DC!

DizzyBeeisSchoolShoeShopping · 23/08/2012 09:18

Good luck to everybody waiting for results, I hope you all get what you need.

TaggieCampbellBlack · 23/08/2012 09:24

I have had the call!

5 As
5 B
1 D (french)

She's gutted she didn't get A* for geography or an A for Art. But has done better in english, maths and sciences than expected.

Phew!

MaureenMLove · 23/08/2012 09:29

Get me! After 6 years, I've made it! Grin

Though, to be fair, anyone starting a GCSE thread, was probably going to be on Discussion of the Day! [gcse]

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 23/08/2012 09:31

See? See what it's done to me! I'm putting [gcse] instead of Grin. PMSL. I really need to relax a bit!

I'm getting texts and Facebook messages left, right and centre now. Poor old DD. It's her big day, not mine!

I refuse to put it on my FB status. If people want to know, they have to ring me!

Well done to your DD Taggie.

MaureenMLove · 23/08/2012 09:39

Right! I'm off! Good luck everyone and remember, there are no problems, just solutions!

OP posts:
LineRunner · 23/08/2012 09:41

I'm off in a minute, too. Aaaagh.

Taggie, that's great. (Will she need to re-take French or did she get another language?)

alistron1 · 23/08/2012 10:05

Well done taggies dd ;)

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 10:06

Am here now. Just waiting for ds to come back out.

Ormiriathomimus · 23/08/2012 10:07

Blimey! I guess DS1 and I ahould be getting nervous too Hmm But never even thought about it TBH. Oops! He's only in Yr 10 and apart from Maths he hasn't completed any GCSEs - just done modules. If he hasn't got a C in his maths he needs shooting!

I wonder if he knows today is D day......suspect he wouldn't care

Zippylovesgeorge · 23/08/2012 10:09

Mines gone to collect his - waiting at home (alone) with Mumsnet for company!

MrsCobbit · 23/08/2012 10:14

Well done Taggie, well done Maureen on Discussion of the Day - outside the school now - am crapping myself - somebody send me a gin!

EmpireStateofMind · 23/08/2012 10:23

Well done Taggie, good luck Mrs Cobbit. Here is a Wine to keep you going!

Students here got their results at 1pm (we are in Asia). That's when the exam board allowed the school to send the results out.

MrsCobbit · 23/08/2012 10:26

Thank you

UmmOfUmbridge · 23/08/2012 10:28

Whoop he got his C in maths! A's in his A level subjects plus a B and the rest C's!
Absolutely delighted :)
Good luck everyone waiting x

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/08/2012 10:32

The long and the short of it is that ds has got into college but his results were not what he hoped. He's very upset right now. :(

alistron1 · 23/08/2012 10:35

Well done Umm!

TOWTH - I hope he feels better about it soon. At least he's got his college place. it's a horrid feeling though, bless him.

UmmOfUmbridge · 23/08/2012 10:44

Ah TOWTH - hope he feels better about it soon. He's into college and in a year or so nobody will care about his results.
Ds was hoping for better in a couple of subjects but he also did better is some so it evened out.

SuperB0F · 23/08/2012 10:45

Well, dd1 got just one A...and eight A*s GrinGrinGrin

I'm so so proud of her, bursting with pride. Coming from a family of skint wastrels well, me anyway and overcoming a lot of hardship, I'm absolutely dancing for her. Bloody amazing kid.

TaggieCampbellBlack · 23/08/2012 10:51

Thanks all. I am very proud of her.

B0F. Blimey! Grin

Good luck all.
