Nicola Sturgeon Home?

TwentytoTwelve · 29/09/2026 19:32

When she was first minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon was often interviewed by the press outside of her home.

I can remember feeling shocked at how small her house was. I think it was semi-detached.

And it looked like it was on a housing estate or just an ordinary house.

Now, there is obviously nothing wrong with this. It’s just that I assumed because she was such a high-ranking politician and had so much influence and notoriety she would’ve lived in a better and larger home with more security.

And I’m not even saying this in relation to the money that her husband allegedly laundered from the SNP. Just in general, I would expect such a politician to have a better house.

Why do you think this is?

I find your intrusive curiosity about Nicola's marriage and living arrangements absolutely weird.
I know where Bute House is thank you very much and that it is the Official Residence of the First Minister.
It comes over that the pp on this thread that are consumed by such hatred must live very bitter and unhappy lives.

COnsumed by hatred? Ok....

More that we have been lied to, repeatedly, and the Scottish Government and SNP are taking the line of "move on, move on, nothing to see here" when actually there is lots to see here.

Unless you actually swallow the stuff about poor wee Nicola, totally unaware what her beloved hubby was up to.

What did he do to you?

TaraRhu · 01/10/2026 11:08

You don’t know the first thing about me. The separatists are the last people to be lecturing anyone about what it means to be a feminist. They’re the ones who campaigned for blokes to go into women’s prisons, changing rooms, loos. Utterly vile.

Small people with small lives.

Nicola is, and always will be, one of my favourite women.

The fact that a woman from a council house (aye her parents bought it, but so did many other people) became FM of Scotland for more years than any middle class man, is something that every single woman should be happy about.

I used that in my job working with disadvantaged young people. Boys and girls. This could be you. FM of Scotland.

Doesn’t matter what your upbringing is. A lassie from a council house runs the country and has been elected to do so more times than any other person.

And all these curtain twitchers care about is who she shagged!

Absolute, complete and utter weirdos.

England is not nearly far enough away from Scotland. I'd be happy to never see that corrupt, lying, bullying destroyer of Scotland ever again.
Btw
A femanist she was not!!

I know you like to name call. Some people would call it bigotry.

And some people think women who stick up for their rights are bigots. They’re word ‘bigot’ has lost all meaning.

LilyMumsnet · 01/10/2026 14:27

Folks, can we have a discussion and keep it civil without resorting to personal attacks please?

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 01/10/2026 14:52

it’s a widely held view is that NS stitched him up with the sex pest charges

Is it?

That's odd then, since it's common knowledge precisely who the individual who attempted to "stitch up" Alex Salmond is, has been for years, so I can only assume people who are under the impression this individual is Nicola Sturgeon herself either live in total ignorance of the world around them, actually are aware of reality and choose to ignore it, or simply do not care and continue to perpetuate this wholly risible nonsense simply because it marries with their pre-existing prejudices regarding NS.

Rent-free...

In related news, anyone who would like to support a judicial review of the shortcomings of the Branchform investigation can now do so, with a quick google [Without Fear Or Favour] for Rev Stu's gardening fund.

Indeed.

He's not quite as ridiculous as Clerkin yet, but going down that road.

Funny how the very same people who spent years lampooning the man as a gormless charlatan with a penchant for constructing elaborate, seemingly plausible, but ultimately baseless "conspiracies" about unionism and the UK's pervasive and insidious effect on Scots and Scotland, have now suddenly suddenly concluded he represents a bastion of rigour and is a leading light in investigative journalism, simply because he's now fully onboard the "wee nippy tried to stitch up Eck" train.

Reminder, this is the man who lost a battle of wits with Kezia Dugdale.

I like Kezia. She was exhausting though. 🤣

Also, he doesn't have a paying job does he?

He used to write articles for computing magazines back in the day when there was still a market for that format, and I think he was actually a Developer in some form for a while, but beyond that I'm unsure. I suspect donations to WoS are probably his main, if not only source of income though because he does appear to sink a lot of time into it.

Main source.

Plus he hasn't lived in or contributed to Scotland for many years.

He is also a massive misogynist.

Plus, he blamed the Liverpool fans for Hillsborough. And he was the first transphobe I ever encountered. I blocked him years ago and he took it badly as he followed me.

I, and many other feminist Indy supporters, got put on his " list", remember that?

I loved Kezia beating him.

Seen her in Morrisons in Portobello/Meadowbank. If so this is a very normal non discript area!

She's in North Berwick. We see her walking her dog (black lab) regularly.
