This WILL be interesting. Even if it doesn’t rid us of the SNP from Holyrood, it will provide a good barometer of public opinion on the recent exploits of the SNP.

Farewell Blackman and Black!

They included 16 - 18 year olds, who I think are more favourable towards independence?

Misthios · 04/07/2024 19:35

16-18 year olds would also have been pre-schoolers the last time we had a Labour government, they are just not familar with anything other than a conservative government, or a SNP one here. Vote for what you know? Dunno.

Prediction of SNP returning 10 seats

Excellent news.

treadingonlego · 04/07/2024 22:07

I've just been squealing over the exit polls!! What a delight to behold!!

whatcom22 · 04/07/2024 22:10

Ooooh I really hope that's true re SNP exit poll - but wonder if a lot of them will be v close...

flyingwingsabove · 04/07/2024 22:12

I was going to go to sleep with a 5 am alarm but I am quite excited. Too much to sleep I think.

whatcom22 · 04/07/2024 22:14

Our seat declared 4:50 last time is I'm going for 4.

Misthios · 04/07/2024 22:24

Fuck me. 10 is even better than I’d hoped for. 10 out of 57. How are they EVER going to spin that as a good result? Even 20 is a poor showing.

Imagine if they get 9 and end up in single figures! 🤭

BlueThursday · 04/07/2024 22:25

I honestly believe a pp got it spot on they will claim the school holidays and postal voting was rigged against them

BigBoysDontCry · 04/07/2024 22:27

I'll be happy with under 20 but can't wait to see the smug lazy grifters out on their arses. I do hope my MP is one of the ones losing.

So only SNP voters can afford to go away in the school holidays? 😂

What joyous news! Single figures would be the icing on the cake.

I'm still fearful for what labour are going to do to womens rights, but at least the subject is tight at out in the open now, days of no debate are hopefully long gone. The fight continues.

treadingonlego · 04/07/2024 22:30

They're already spinning how a Labour victory will boost support for independence

I'm not always a fan of Wings over Scotland, but this was a comical read.

This is a class line 😄 -

'You could literally vote for Proud Edward and his army and you still wouldn’t have any less likelihood of getting independence than you will if you vote SNP.'

apples24 · 05/07/2024 04:27

SNP predictably held my constituency but overall looking very good.

Also, just saw that John Nicolson is out!!! He was my MP previously, lazy, invisible in constituency and with strong misogynist vibes. So great news he's gone.

medianewbie · 05/07/2024 04:51

How to check who's declared yet pls?

BlueThursday · 05/07/2024 04:53

SNP lose to LibDem here

I got the info from our council FB page @medianewbie

ThomasinaLivesHere · 05/07/2024 05:01

SNP lose to labour in my area. At one point the revised prediction was 6 seats for SNP but it’s gone up to 8. That’s such a result!

flyingwingsabove · 05/07/2024 05:15

SNP hold in my area. Disappointed but not surprised.

You’re in my constituency, wasn’t he awful. Blocked hundreds of us on social media for pointing out that his campaign photo was 25 years out of date, vain little man. Still see him swanning about Bearsden, clearly not representing his new area.

quite pleased with our new mp.

Jeezitneverends · 05/07/2024 05:30

Mine has yet to declare but I’m exceptionally happy to see so many SNP losses, amd one in particular makes me absolutely gleeful

BlueThursday · 05/07/2024 05:46

Douglas Ross loses to SNP
