I loathe the Scottish Government

I loathe the Scottish Government. I want to see the SNP/Green Party coalition roast in hell! They can take any MSP who voted for the Gender Reform Bill or the Hate Crime Laws with them. Is it now a hate crime for a Scottish Woman to say that?

The greens have apparently been into Bute house and are out of government. 🥳

Excellent news!

Jeezitneverends · 25/04/2024 11:38

I’m not getting too excited about what today’s news means but hopefully, just hopefully this might be the start of the house of cards falling 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

This is hilarious. We need more comedians taking the piss out of our politicians in Scotland.

All they can do is barrel from crisis to catastrophe. A truly incompetent shower of politicians. Scotland deserves better. Holyrood is a shambles.

Unbelievable! I remember being so happy when Scotland got devolution, but now I just wish the whole thing would disappear as it’s become blindingly obvious that our politicians are a shower of self serving see you next Tuesdays who couldn’t run a bloody raffle 😢

“if we got separation there would be no need for the SNP, makes you think.”

@Dineasair I’m curious about this view, and have heard it a fair bit from people saying “vote Indy then you can get rid of the SNP’ because I reckon if they were ever to nudge the dial in favour of separation, the unquestioning, tribal hordes would forever give them a vote on the back of this alone (as many do now) and totally neglect their actual failings in governing the country.

The inevitable economic chaos would be forever explained as big bad England Westminster cheating Scotland out of its rightful settlement (hints of Brexit on steroids here I fear) and once again, the SNP would attempt to bat away its own failings as “someone else’s fault”.

Whilst this might eventually lose them support, I really worry for the actual damage it would have to do to get to that point?

What I meant was that it made me wonder if it was actually self-sabotage. The SNP, who I have voted for all my life until I recently left the party, need the hostility to fuel their ambitions. The SNP in an independent Scotland would maybe have a much lesser role in Scottish politics as they are so focused on separation. Maybe they remember what happened to Churchill after the war.

😂 I caught the end of PMQs just as Patrick Harvey asked a question.......honestly sounded like a scorned teenager!

I'm glad greens are out some of their policies completely ignored the reality of large areas of Scotland outside the central belt.
Also glad SNP has egg on their faces and how much this will push Independence referendum a long way down the path!

Greens are showing their true colours aren't they? Not fussed about missing the climate targets, the ferries, the bottle refund fiasco, but banning puberty blockers for children - that's their line in the sand.

I think that the Greens are more interested in the agenda of whoever’s providing their funding than anything to do with preserving the planet, which should actually be their whole reason for existing. I don’t believe that they are a force for good anymore, maybe completely corporate owned, and the Lib Dem’s aren’t far behind.

Ooooh @Morwenscapacioussleeves good political theatre!

Fourfurrymonsters · 25/04/2024 13:21

I’ve always voted SNP. Every time. I used to really admire Nicola Sturgeon but her last year or two in office was an absolute shit show. The SNP now are a shadow of their former selves, making terrible decisions right, left and centre. The GR bill and prioritisation of some men’s feelings over women’s rights was the last straw for me. Now in my mid-50s I can’t any more. Politically homeless here too.

treadingonlego · 25/04/2024 13:32

  • and they'd have been putting all the good raffle prizes to one side for themselves.
Linearforeignbody · 25/04/2024 13:38

I’d also like to know why Murrell was given 48hours notice for his re-arrest.

Linearforeignbody · 25/04/2024 13:39

And why won’t Air Miles Angus reveal what he has spent on international travel?

annabelindajane · 25/04/2024 14:55

And have all the mums with young children caught up with the LGBT plans to have LGBT champions in schools to chat to children as young as 4 ?

Again if you wish to catch up with this look on Wings - I’m not an independence seeker but Wings have been brilliant at calling out these queer policies .

musicalfrog · 25/04/2024 15:39

This is wrong on the BBC isn't it? The government had nothing to do with stopping pbs.

I loathe the Scottish Government
INeedAPensieve · 25/04/2024 15:40

@annabelindajane I'm the same, have been impressed by Wings and how dogged he's been about the SNP and greens.

I created a thread about his exposé on that charity in FWR; it's crazy they are allowed in primary schools! Also, even after the shocking Cass report they are saying puberty blockers are "wonderful" on their website. Activists and ideology should stay out of schools.
