how utterly patronising and indicative of the dictatorial ethos of the SNP…who do these people think they are?!

That's the snp through and through. Public bodies are run as an extension of the snp.

NicolaSturGONE · 20/04/2023 21:46

But polls are only a small number of the electorate surely?

The next Scottish election is not til 2026 I think, unless of course the SNP no longer exists as surely they'd have to have an election then?

I think the next WM election is next year. SNP will definitely lose seats, Labour will most likely benefit and win the election and that will in turn change a lot of things in Scotland too, even if the Holyrood election is further away, because no more big bad Tories to protest vote against.

Sugarfree23 · 20/04/2023 21:49

I can not believe they have only lost 5%. Maybe too many swallowing the innocent until proven.

SirChenjins · 20/04/2023 21:50

Yes they’re only a small number of the electorate but they’re indicative of the wider population’s views. I have to say it doesn’t surprise me though - far too many will brush it aside as nothing has been proven (and it’s all a WM/RWM plot anyway…)

The Telegraph piece makes us look like a “ Banana Republic”

How is this going to pan out ?

Accurate then ...

54isanopendoor · 21/04/2023 10:16

I wonder when NS will be questioned.
By the end of this month, surely?
Will the powers that be want it timed to coincide with a big 'event'
XR protest / Coronation etc Or will that be a day to sneak out the news?

Sugarfree23 · 21/04/2023 12:58

I think it's likely to be a week on Monday. Purely based on Peter was Wednesday, Colin 13 days later Tuesday, Nicola Monday 13 days later....make her sweat it out a bit longer 😀

Pantsonfiretoday · 21/04/2023 13:05

You've got Tricia Marwick (ex SNP MP /ex Holyrood presiding officer and Chair of NHS Fife ) setting the example by berating people for not obeying "wheesht for Indy" even whilst her own niece N McGarry's (ex SNP MP who has been found guilty of embezzlement of Woman for Indy funds) proceeds of crime case is being heard. It's mind blowing for me. These are the supposedly morally superior people running Scotland. What a brass neck she has. They want us all to sit down and shut up.

Marwick's happy to tweet "I joined the SNP in 86. Elected to the Scottish Parliament in 99. SNP elected as minority govt in 2007. We made sure we never dissented publicly. If you feel you are more important than the SNP and if you think your views matter then get a grip. I don’t want to know you. "

But then it would start to get buried under the local elections and the start of the Coronation shenanigans, they wouldn't want that, would they?!

Sugarfree23 · 21/04/2023 13:16

No local elections in Scotland this year. I always thought they were annual events but apparently not.

I only realised that when I was looking to make sure I had childcare for all the May holidays, and school wasn't closed on a Thursday.

NicolaSturGONE · 21/04/2023 18:40

Will NS and PM be invited to the coronation? I know sometimes former leaders are invited to such events.

HirplesWithHaggis · 21/04/2023 23:11

Interesting question. According to https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a43521581/king-charles-coronation-guest-list/ "The Telegraph reported just 20 MPs and 20 peers will be at the coronation, and that list is not public yet. However, here's who's confirmed so far:

  • Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murthy, the UK's Prime Minister and his wife. The Daily Mail reported no other Cabinet members except Sunak will be given a plus one.
  • Humza Yousaf, the First Minister of Scotland"

No mention of Nicola, though both she and Alex Salmond are Privy Councillors.

King Charles Coronation: The Complete Guest List

Here's who we know is confirmed to attend the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla on May 6.

These people are incompetent, authoritarian fuckwits.

Sounds like a dictatorship.

HyuNis · 22/04/2023 08:18

Telling people their views don't matter and there can be no public dissent Hmm
I thought the cornerstone of a democracy was " I may not agree with your view but I will fight for your right to hold that view"?

Remind me what country we live in?

Sugarfree23 · 22/04/2023 08:46

I got laughed at on here when I said Scotland was a dictatorship. I just don't think many SNP voters could see it.

You'd never here the SNP backbenchers revolting or complaining about anything, ever!

Rainbowshit · 22/04/2023 13:12

Apparently the times are reporting that Maree Todd's husband was one of the oartners at the firm that audited the SNP's accounts....

OP posts:
Rainbowshit · 22/04/2023 13:13

He resigned last year along with 3 other long standing partners.

Curiouser and curiouser.

maree Todd had responsibility for GIDs at Sandyford disnt she?

NicolaSturGONE · 22/04/2023 22:21

I see she's going with the "my husband had a heart attack, this isn't fair" defence.

A heart attack doesn't change the story, and, like it or not, the Times has every right to report that story..

Now we know the real reason for the government emergency alert on mobiles tomorrow
