Even although I did Modern Studies at school I never really say the importance of the Second Chamber until the ridiculous policies SNP have tried to push through.
The one that opened my eyes was the Named Person stuff. That would have been so open to abuse.
Looking at those figures how are Labour able to keep trading (is that the right word) with £5m losses in a year?
I can't get my head around the idea that SNP have 63 NEC members. Any one of them could be held liable for ALL the SNP debt. And if you were going to pursue that debt logically you'd pick the person who's going to be most likely to be able to pay up.
I can't even understand why none of the 63 have gone through the figures with a fine tooth comb before agreeing to be a NEC member.
It's not even like becoming a director of a company where the buck stops with the company.
Sunak does have a point that people should have a better understanding of maths.
But I think that people need to understand finances and statistics rather than higher level maths, few people need to understand calculus, and higher geometry etc.
But everyone should be taught about interest rates, compound interest, how to budget both small business and family budget. If you can understand that then you'll under the country needs to budget too.
