My SNP MP has blocked me on Twitter, presumably because I asked him some difficult questions about the GRR bill. Given he's a weasely fool, he will have no doubt removed any reference to the SNP the second things started to get a teeny bit difficult.

I cannot wait for him to come knocking on the door asking for my vote.

Northernsouloldies · 16/04/2023 16:21

Haha, I hope you got satisfaction from that. It's great to see these people squirm and avoid. 😁.

tobee · 16/04/2023 20:11

"Why do Scottish voters never learn? They let Labour get away with it for years, now they've repeated history with the SNP."

This is not unique to Scottish voters

Notapartyanimal · 16/04/2023 21:56

Last check of twitter before heading to bed seems to suggest that Nicola may be resigning as MSP tomorrow!

If she is, you'd think she'd be more careful by now who she speaks to as everythign is geting leaked. Twitter is full of rumours, I'll believe it when I see it.

If she's a list MSP, iirc, how is her seat refilled as it wouldn't be a by election would it?

Definitely popcorn worthy but still think it's the twitter drums rather then reality!
Would be a proper turn out for the books if it does happen!

I do find the spiralling SNP quietly satisfying though after so many friends telling me they wanted independence because they wanted rid of Westminster and the SNP was completely different......they definitely have gone silent the last 10 days!

readsalotgirl63 · 16/04/2023 23:07

She is MSP for Glasgow Southside so it would be a bye election

Rainbowshit · 16/04/2023 23:58

When are we due the next round of polling? 🍿

I wonder which of them has more dirt on the other?

NatashaDancing · 17/04/2023 01:15

It's getting better and better!

NatashaDancing · 17/04/2023 01:23

It's as if each day each newspaper gets its own new bombshells. The Times was first with Blackford going cap in hand to the MOD. The Sunday Mail had that video of Sturgeon and now The Telegraph gets this.

Sunnyfunnytimes · 17/04/2023 08:55

Some of the stuff coming out is incredibly damning, the video of her saying the finances are the healthiest they have ever been is really concerning.

either she’s so utterly gullible she didn’t check and that’s what she believed as her husband told her that, so was incompetent, or she was covering and is dishonest . But why would you not then invite scrutiny if you believed it was in good shape. And the fact someone videoed her saying that and saved it says a lot.

overall it looks very bad indeed.

SirChenjins · 17/04/2023 09:00

What’s so bizarre is that it’s a relatively small amount - if it’s just the £600k then that’s not much in comparison to what they were pulling in salary-wise over the years. If I was going to risk my job, livelihood and freedom Id be doing it for far more than £600k.

Sugarfree23 · 17/04/2023 09:01

The person filming her clearly didn't believe her and it wasn't the first time they'd had that conversation. Hence being able to set up a secret camera. They obviously aren't sitting their with the phone out.

BigBoysDontCry · 17/04/2023 09:04

It looked like it was a video call and they were recording their screen so may have had their camera off.

What’s so bizarre is that it’s a relatively small amount - if it’s just the £600k then that’s not much in comparison to what they were pulling in salary-wise over the years. If I was going to risk my job, livelihood and freedom Id be doing it for far more than £600k.

That’s assuming he made off with it. As you say, I would want several million at least to potentially cushion my new life somewhere without an extradition treaty.

But in the meantime there was a Scottish parliamentary election. They are expensive things to campaign for so if this money was diverted, against election rules, to getting the SNP (and Nicola) elected then that could have had an influence in us getting an SNP/Greens government and, to my mind, that is far more serious.

600k is a relatively small amount, but if there’s truth in this, this certainly isn’t!

Nicola Sturgeon accused of diverting 'jaw-dropping' £17.6bn away from the NHS

The First Minister was accused by the Scottish Tories of not utilising Barnett Consequentials from Westminster designated for the NHS and instead spending it elsewhere.

Oh Nicola, what a mess!

BigBoysDontCry · 17/04/2023 09:45

I and others posted on here years ago about the diverting of funds specifically given for the NHS. Apparently it was fine because the money can't be ring fenced and our glorious SNP know best what to spend the money on. 🤷‍♀️

Catsolitude · 17/04/2023 09:53

One day we will look back on this time and wonder why we, as a nation, politics and party colours aside, thought it was a good idea to let a husband and wife team run a party where dissent is prohibited (in the SNP’s constitution- no backbenchers agitating), and run this country where there is no 2nd chamber for checks and balances and why so many people were completely blinkered.

Whether you love the SNP or not, none of this was a good idea.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 17/04/2023 09:56

Rumours are that it’s not that the 600k is missing that is the issue, but where it went.

tjere are a lot of rumours.

I had exactly the same thought. This really is small beer by white collar/political fraud standards.

I can assure you stealing 600k is always an issue. There maybe other issues, but stealing 600k is always an issue.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 17/04/2023 10:06

That’s true, @Sunnyfunnytimes hut it’s not usually enough to bring down a government or split a party.
