It's all happening... 🍿

Sturgeon's husband arrested.

Ooft - interesting times!

Did they honestly think they wouldn’t get caught? What was their thinking - the PM has Chequers so the FM should have a camper van and a villa in Portugal?!

Notapartyanimal · 15/04/2023 23:46

Jewellery purchases apparently also being investigated. What have they been up to ffs?! Clearly so much more to come. Gift that keeps on giving...

Twitter saying that the SNP are nearly out of money and also rumour that Angus Robertson has resigned. Maybe explains why he declined to stand as party leader..

They were talking about airmiles Angus so thought Robertson? We are talking twitter here though so who knows?

Also so someone suggest that the campervan was so sturgeon could be bonnie prince charlie and escape over the sea to skye but the bridge was shut and there were no ferries 😂

Maybe the rings were seized rather than taken off! 😮

BigBoysDontCry · 15/04/2023 23:58

But her dad says the money isn't missing so that clears that up for us all.

If I were going to fiddle the books a campervan really would not be my go to item.

Ooh fantastic! 👀
The snp shit really is starting to hit the fan!
Did they really think they could get away with this?

May be not but it certainly introduces an element of farce that makes it more fun to watch.

Awrite · 16/04/2023 08:27

Total and utter hubris.

SirChenjins · 16/04/2023 08:43

The result of a one party state

HyuNis · 16/04/2023 08:48

I'm not familiar with Wings over Scotland until I saw them mentioned here. What are their politics, anyone know?
Are they pro independence but anti SNP?

Awrite · 16/04/2023 08:52

@HyuNis - that's my understanding of Wings. Lives in Bath but has contacts within the SNP it appears. Seems to know what's going on well ahead of time.

TheBelmont · 16/04/2023 08:54

He’s pro-Alex Salmond version of Indy. Thinks the current bunch of SNP cronies have ruined the chances of Indy hence his contempt of them.

Awrite · 16/04/2023 08:54

Was banned from Twitter for a long time. I think for being pro women's rights. Well, anti TRA stuff anyway.

Sugarfree23 · 16/04/2023 08:56

It's not just the result of a one party state, it's the result of two people having far too much control and nobody else being able to criticise or rebel against that leadership.

Very very frightening how much control was in the hands of a couple of people. How they were so single track minded that so much stuff is in a complete mess.

Viviennemary · 16/04/2023 09:00

I have just read about the villa in Portugal. Is it being suggested that's a bit fishy too.

HyuNis · 16/04/2023 09:05

Ah that makes sense, thanks @Awrite @TheBelmont

Hedjwitch · 16/04/2023 09:09

I really hope that people who voted SNP are feeling embarrassed at how gullible they have been. Certain friends of mine swore blind that the SNP were the best thing ever despite any evidence to the contrary!

Sugarfree23 · 16/04/2023 09:14

Where are all the people who swore blind at NS would never break the nonsense covid rules, while BJ was having a party.

I think this stuff is far worse than what BJ did.

ThatsGenderwang · 16/04/2023 09:15

One thing's for sure - this will be deeply personally humiliating for the former First Minister of Scotland. If the investigation is in any way competent, she'll be asked to provide copies of personal bank statements, receipts for jewelry and other goods & assets, and the timelines, as if she were under investigation for fiddling the broo.

I remember the conversations I had in the run up to indyref with friends and family and here on MN where nats were saying they were voting yes to get away from the corruption at Westminster. 🤭

I said that Scottish people were just human and power corrupts and would do so on Scotland too.

Have to say I'm enjoying this current situation. 🤭

You’d be lucky. They are probably already declaring this a westminster plot.
