Trump yesterday, Murrell today, who's next?
Interesting times indeed.

Bojo 🙏

Northernsouloldies · 05/04/2023 19:04

The snp have fucked Scotland with their crackpot policies. Hopefully sturgeon isn't far behind in being arrested and charged. Poor Humza having to deal with this with nobody to hold his hand. 😁

SirChenjins · 05/04/2023 19:09

Who are all these posters who live in your head and claim Westminster is great @ismu ?

ismu · 05/04/2023 19:16

PersonaNonGarter · 05/04/2023 18:18

to some far more serious allegations

Urgh @ismu your whataboutery is ridiculous. Peter Murrell is being arrested for what looks like theft or fraud - money stolen from donors by the party Chief Executive and Spouse of the First Minister.

Why are you pretending that Westminster has anything even approaching this serious? Who precisely in Westminster do you accuse of this?

Again, this is why Scotland is screwed. People genuinely think Westminster is the same or worse. It’s an intellectual giant beside Holyrood.

Possibly these ones?

SirChenjins · 05/04/2023 19:20

Not these - this.

From the way you’re talking there’s a widespread belief on MN that Westminster politicians are paragons of virtue (although to be fair, I can’t recall the spouse of any PM being arrested for financial wrongdoing). That, as you know, is simply not true.

LongWhiteCar · 05/04/2023 19:24

This isn’t about Westminster.
It’s about the SNP, Holyrood and Scotland.
It’s about the abuse of power, lack of integrity and transparency.
It’s about poor governance and not governing for the whole of Scotland.
It’s about low calibre politicians and their hangers on who wouldn’t last 10 minutes in the real world.
It’s about endless sound bites backed up with total incompetence.
What the hell does ‘progressive’ actually mean?
And God save us from the ‘Well-being Economy’ whatever the fuck that might be.
I can guarantee it won’t provide jobs, build ferries, alleviate child poverty or really dig down into why so many Scots seek total oblivion in the form of drugs and alcohol.
And finally, for now, it’s about a woman who claims to be ‘feminist to her fingertips’ selling every woman and girl down the river.

Great post which pretty much sums it up

Sunnyfunnytimes · 05/04/2023 19:28

I suppose SNP members were naive enough to believe that a married couple at the top of the party is not a problem

apparentlh she was told many times and Salmond publicly told her when she was elected that it was not acceptable and her husband had to be found another job in the party, she refused.

on a seperate note this is a criminal case, not a civil one. And there is every chance that sturgeon is implicated in this, she can’t be forced to testify against her husband, but if he is charged, then the police will be forced to investigate if she knew.

Hedjwitch · 05/04/2023 19:30

Anyone thinking this isnt about fraud at all? Given the SNPs protection of sex pests an offenders and their insistence on male rapists being in women's prisons,I fear a darker story might emerge. I utterly despise Sturgeon Murrell and the SNP but hope its "just" fraud

Yes I think it’s fraud, there is nothing to suggest it’s about sex Hmm

tobee · 05/04/2023 19:48

"SNP = jam tomorrow but never ever today ...."

There, fixed that for you.

this is just bollocks
Police Scotland made clear this morning the arrest was part of their investigation into SNP finances
and fwiw the Scottish Govt didn't send Isla Bryson/Adam Graham to Cornton Vale, that would have been a decision made a court level
but what is social media for if not to peddle disinformation in the name of a cause

NowThatsWhatICall22 · 05/04/2023 19:52

Crikey @ismu you put in a long shift today and you’ve certainly earned your party stripes, trying your best to link politicians in Westminster with a police investigation into the former CEO of the political party currently governing Scotland and husband of the conveniently exited former First Minister. Have a word with yourself.

Which faithful is here for the night shift to continue shamelessly defending the cult?

Are you thinking of the TRA with the red hair - whatsisname? The one who has gone very quiet of late? There seems to be something going on there. I’m

SirChenjins · 05/04/2023 19:56

and whose policies allow this to happen?

tobee · 05/04/2023 20:10

Hearing rumour he's been released without charge?

This was just confirmed on Sky News

ThatsGenderwang · 05/04/2023 20:13

tobee · 05/04/2023 20:10

Hearing rumour he's been released without charge?

He can go home to his own wee Mar-a-Lago and wait while the paperwork is sifted.

LongWhiteCar · 05/04/2023 20:17

I wonder if Nic will be there to welcome home her poor husband after such a difficult day.

tobee · 05/04/2023 20:21

Ah interested to see the "pending further investigation" mentioned on sky News app.

Sunnyfunnytimes · 05/04/2023 20:27

Doubt they will stay at home, likely in a hotel someplace or with family,

I don’t think it’s looking good, you could clearly see the police photographing stuff and bagging it up in the garden, prob need time to run tests on whatever they found

but you could dig my garden up I’d be bloody stunned if they anything Worth bagging and photographing unless having bind weed is a proper crime now 😂

ThatsGenderwang · 05/04/2023 20:29

God imagine the Polis going through your bins. The shame.

Whatthediddlyfeck · 05/04/2023 20:30

It’s pending further investigation, so what’s been gleaned today will be assessed and he could be pulled back in

@SirChenjins as I understand it court service decide which prison people are sent to initially than it's SPS who decide where they will be longer term
Scottish Govt stepped in to prevent trans women being sent to a the female estate after the row, and Sturgeon made clear Isla/Adam wouldn't serve time in the female estate
but again that doesn't fit the #SNPbad agenda some people on here like to push

Pattypop · 05/04/2023 20:45

Guess what, the Tories are corrupt AND the SNP are just as bad. Both can be true you know. People can loathe them both equally.
