Just catching up 😂 brilliant in thread foolery @WouldBeGood
Assumed you’d been drinking at breakfast until I clocked.

NowThatsWhatICall22 · 01/04/2022 16:05

@UnctuousUnicorns

"she threatened to shut the unicorn border"

Oh yes, I remember when in April 2021 when Glasgow was "locked down" until the 26th, and we weren't meant to leave the boundary or go five miles beyond it or some such bollocks, unless it was for "essential" purposes. Oh, how we chortled on the 12th, as we pootled down the M74 in our car and caravan, on our way to a lovely six nights in Northumberland, before DD3 went back to school on the 19th. Grin

Ha, same here. I remember Tebay was awash with fellow ‘escapees’ all giving a knowing look to each other.

Scottishskifun · 01/04/2022 17:54

@lizziemacqueen ouch!!!!!
I did a fix til June 2023 my standing charge is 23p each I don't know what the variable is but that's scottish power

mapleleavesreturn · 01/04/2022 19:14

Several helpful colleagues mentioning what a shambles Edinburgh airport is going to be this weekend!

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 01/04/2022 20:15

What does it mean that I read this headline (without the April Fool’s tag) and my first instinct was that it was perfectly believable. (Funny article btw, I’d recommend for a laugh.)

ResilienceWanker · 01/04/2022 20:41

Haha! That's brilliant youcannot Grin

"The Government source confirmed last night the trains would run on a reduced service during the weekly Gaelic lessons but was "confident no one would notice".
There speaks a journalist who commutes by rail frustratingly often...

Yes, someone tweeted it too and underneath had several comments saying it was so believable they had to double check it was a fools. Crazy times we live in, I would believe it on any other day than today Confused
@ssd ultraswim shampoo is worth the dosh if swimming regularly. Followed by a hair mask/conditioner treatment once a week at home. Its been many years since I was swimming regularly but used to train and compete as a youngster and that's what my mum used for me Smile

Try to avoid brushing it when really wet after swimming too - a really good towel dry first and wide comb as it can cause it to break more easily.
Thank you, will try this! My hair feels all matted and tuggy at the ends. EechSad

ssd · 01/04/2022 23:06

I just ordered the ultraswim shampoo and conditioner @Scottishskifun, also ordered a wide tooth combSmile

Hopefully will sort out my matted hair! I'll also stop forcing a brush through it at the baths hairdryer Blush

Scottishskifun · 02/04/2022 00:12

@ssd hope it helps! Yes stop forcing it as it will cause it to break!
Sometimes if mine is bad I use the wide tooth comb when there is conditioner still in (also have long hair) can make it easier and I plait it before swimming too Smile

Completely unsurprising news to railers on avoidable plastic pollution from lfts:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/health-60929956

One thing I'll say though is that since recycling is by council and non standard, who knows what the right thing to do in your area is?

WouldBeGood · 02/04/2022 18:14

The plastic waste is truly shocking @mapleleavesreturn.

To all railers who recommended a trip to England, it’s really great! So refreshing, it’s just lovely not to be constantly lectured, and to see faces.

@wouldbegood glad your having a good time! Yes it seems silly to say given same country but the atmosphere feels different and I found it a well needed mental break!

WouldBeGood · 02/04/2022 23:10

It really feels a different world @Scottishskifun. We’ve been out to a show, no rules, packed theatre, everyone singing along, squeezed onto tube after, all totally normal. No new normal or covid sense.

RaraRachael · 03/04/2022 08:13

Can't wait to escape mask madness for a week. Case packing this afternoon. I won't be wearing one in railway stations or trains this side of the border.
Few people actually seem to give a shit now. Nobody waiting for NS big announcement re the 18th - which will probably be extended for another 2 weeks "just to be prudent or cautious" Hmm

Scottishskifun · 03/04/2022 08:27

My area seems to be very mask compliant still but its a small town who at one point thought people from the city were bad and were checking driving licences for addresses before serving them etc 😳😵

JenniferAlisonPhilipaSue · 03/04/2022 09:07

not a rail, but how do we find out who our council candidates are and what they stand for? We only ever seem to get their names and party but SFA else about them.

Blimeyherewegoagain · 03/04/2022 14:00

Facebook seems to be how candidates are making themselves known here. Most of them have posted on the local page.

Sounds great! We are off to england for the Easter hols, I really can't wait!
WouldBeGood · 03/04/2022 22:11

Today, @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo, I was in museum cafe .. and they had jugs of water you could pour for yourself..!!

I found my recent weekend in London so good for my mental health. I'm glad you are having fun.

Scottishskifun · 04/04/2022 10:59

My rail this morning is bloody "party representatives" for the council elections not the actual candidates and how they allow some nasty undercurrents to be members of their party!

Got stopped by SNP members trying to get my vote.... I explained I didn't believe in independence so wouldn't vote for a SNP candidate......to which one told me I should go home then...... when I asked what they meant by that they said back over the border.....AngryHmm so I asked them if they found it acceptable for this type of comment in the 21st century was told they would get independence and didn't need "my lot" anyway.

I know majority don't hold these views and the person next to them was visibly embarrassed but we aren't even at a referendum and already getting crap like this when they stopped me!

readsalotgirl63 · 04/04/2022 11:03

That's appalling @Scottishskifun.

CuddlyCactus · 04/04/2022 11:07

Gosh I would report their racist comments to the local party.
I recall you are English and am assuming you are white @Scottishskifun ?
Imagine the reaction if they said that to a person of colourHmm
