In my area the health board has set up a patient review into what services might help.......a review which has been ongoing for 6months+ I know as I've taken part in them! Great to try and focus it but suffers need stuff set up not continued chat about it! Especially when there is loads of data available from you know the English NHS where they have been running for 20+ months!

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:56

Does anyone know if the 'two week' extension on mask wearing is 2 weeks from March 21. Or from now?

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:58

How frustrating @Scottishskifun

GoldenOmber · 15/03/2022 14:59

From March 21st. She said expectation is until early April… although I saw Chris Musson there on Twitter pointing out that the government press release just out says “at least early April”
user1487194234 · 15/03/2022 14:59

Can't believe we still have to wear masks
Feel so down

Scottishskifun · 15/03/2022 14:59
@Scottishskifun It was a silly Q as GPS are encouraged to provide 'holistic' support and the details will be in the SG covid strategy document.
I'm sure that knowing that makes you feel a lot better. Hmm
Oh yes tonnes! 🙄 the GP I am unable to see.......
It really softens the blow of the 5k+ I have spent on therapies! I'm one of the lucky ones and now recovered to a good level but only via private route! Worth every penny but so many can't afford that and get zero support!

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 15:00

will be from 21st March. So through to 4th April - at least.

Chris Musson on Twitter - Sun political editor - is very good, the press release says that masks are here until AT LEAST early April. Not "until early April."

Make of that what you will. Anyone might think they were lying to us. Again.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 15:02

@ResilienceWanker Yes. I expect you find it hard to find the time to see the news when being cautious and alert to covid keeps you busier than usual. Thank goodness you're an organised sort who relies on your phone calendar for reminders of things like the expected date of the removal of mask wearing 'laws'.

I think you're another one of those people who finds their memory is suddenly shocking, aren't you @user1487194234? Wouldn't it be awful if you just forgot to take your mask with you.
GoldenOmber · 15/03/2022 15:02

I’m sure that will be nothing like the secondary school masks, which slipped from “up to 6 weeks” to “at least 6 weeks” to 6 months.

Bloody hell at that £5k cost Scottishskifun. Glad you were able to manage that and that it helped you, but you like you say, what about all the people who can’t?

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 15:04

Sarcasm/joking aside @Scottishskifun I hope you go on to make a full recovery Thanks

OnceUponAWhine · 15/03/2022 15:05

Meh, she can get to fook. Optics. Politics. Bollocks. I shall continue to think for myself by not wearing my mask and also continue to listen to the intelligent thoughts of virologist Dr Chris Smith.
I get the rage every time she speaks, there’s so much to fix in the day job, yet she’s so busy trying to stay relevant by acting different to rest of U.K. (this and her political nudges at Westminster in tandem with the Welsh councillor mayor). NS and Humza need to be held to account for the shitshow that is currently NHS Scotland, this is all a distraction.

Stop wearing your masks, think for yourself. Two weeks is here nor there, it’s all such nonsense.

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 15:06

Ok so the local elections are 5th May.

What's the betting Krakenstein relinquishes her grip around Easter weekend, in the hope of being perceived as Lady Bountiful at the ballot box?

Because if you believe this has anything do to with "the science" you're wrong.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 15:06

Uuggghh at the mask wearing. NS doesn't even attempt to justify it.

Literally, we don’t. Absolutely nothing legally binding that makes us. Obedience and being one of Nicola’s sheep are the only reasons anyone would.
GoldenOmber · 15/03/2022 15:08

Agreed Y0uCann0tBeSer10us. It’s not just the masks - I do find them difficult but was prepared to lump it pre-vaccines when we were still scrambling around for things that might help. It’s the idea that the government is now so comfortable with having the power to do things like this that it’ll keep those laws in place, just indefinitely, even when it is manifestly not helping, without feeling any real pressure to justify it with anything other than “being cautious”. And the lack of ability to do anything about it and the aaargh-ness of having been told “please be patient, just a little while longer, we’ll definitely lift them soon… just another few weeks… and another… and another…” again and again and again.

GoldenOmber · 15/03/2022 15:11

Don’t really fancy getting kicked off the train and/or fined on my way to work. Could tell the ticket guy I’ve suddenly developed an exemption I suppose…?

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 15:12

You could @GoldenOmber. And the ticket guy would likely give not one single fuck.

runningpink · 15/03/2022 15:15

I absolutely fu**ing hate her!
What a lying cow.

I refuse to wear one anymore. There is no evidence and I have missed out on doing so many things because of them.

Feels like the poor high school kids all over again, just three weeks then 6 months later still wearing the god damn things. This will be us meanwhile ever other nation is living life as normal

I am beyond angry.

Scottishskifun · 15/03/2022 15:15

@mibbelucieachwell

Sarcasm/joking aside *@Scottishskifun* I hope you go on to make a full recovery Thanks
😊 thank you.

@goldenomber yes they are completely stuck in limbo and the therapies I have aren't a magic bullet unfortunately but they helped ease symptoms along with the vaccinations. Each time I got a jab my symptoms would improve!

GoldenOmber · 15/03/2022 15:15

@FoxyFoxyLoxy

I have absolutely seen people get really grilled about it on trains, though, including once at Waverley where the police were standing at the ticket barriers to take people aside and say “you need to put a mask on, now, you can’t travel without a mask.”

I don’t so much mind in places where nobody bothers like the school playground (where we are still technically meant to wear them despite being outside and distanced Hmm) or in places like Tesco where I can just walk out, but it’s not quite as simple as “nobody ever bothers you” everywhere.

HoldingTheDoor · 15/03/2022 15:16

I knew that she'd pull this stunt with no actual justification. I loathe her. I've always disliked Nicola Sturgeon but over the course of this pandemic, it's developed into an utter seething hatred. It's clear that the masks make sod all difference in most settings at present. Rates are going up with mask wearing in place so we'll just continue to do the same old shit even when it's obvious that it's completely ineffective. What an embarrassment she is.

ResilienceWanker · 15/03/2022 15:16

Omg! Did she actually say that?! "Covid Strategy Document" my arse.

Don't worry, though, because there's been lots of funding offered to people to look further into what could maybe help people with long covid... and they'll be reporting on what further work could be done around the end of the month, so there will be more research and talking and "mixed method studies" taking place after that. And meanwhile ski is shelling out huge amounts of money on actual treatments FlowersAngry because she would, hey, like to feel better...like the impatient hussy she is... while lots of people are waiting patiently and correctly for all this talking to conclude and for The Caring SG to let them know what will be done in good time Because they have no other option.

Aaaaarrrrrggghhh.

IHeartMac · 15/03/2022 15:18

Why aren’t MSPs wearing masks in parliament when we have to wear them to collect kids outside in the playground Angry

ResilienceWanker · 15/03/2022 15:19

Very busy. Very, very busy indeed. And careful and alert, oh yes - very those too. Thank goodness for phone reminders, hey... Grin
