Yip I'm out with masks. No more.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:30

Travel restrictions stopping from Friday, cos they have to cos England.

Mask wearing to be retained in some public settings for a "short period" to be reviewed in 2 weeks.

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 14:32

Short period is utter bollocks.

We were told kids would be wearing masks in schools from August 2021 for a "wee while".

So that was until 28th February 2022.

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 15/03/2022 14:32

I was actually just saying that I'll be 'forgetting' to wear my mask a lot more now, and probably won't bother at all in places where people don't know me like shopping centres. They don't work to control infection and they can fuck right off if they think I'm wearing one to 'send a signal that the pandemic isn't over' because if bloody well should be now that COVID is no worse than flu.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:33

Indeed @FoxyFoxyLoxy

Contact tracing until end April.

ResilienceWanker · 15/03/2022 14:33

I'm actually feeling quite positive about Tuesday (I know, I know, I'll get off the thread and douse myself in some cold water or something). I just think there would be far too much backlash if there was any u turn on the restrictions going. And previously I have expected tightening of restrictions and so on (like the extension of vaccine passports in January) which didn't come to pass because of it being disproportionate and so on - so I think the SG may be getting less gung ho at going too far from the rest of the UKs approach given the negligible/ negative effect keeping restrictions has been having.Plus, elections.

Though of course, I'm happy to come back and eat my hat next week when we're put back into essential shopping only wink...

Well, my prediction above from last week aged well. What the actual fuck was I thinking. Anyway, I've just deep fried my hat and am downing it with a can of tennents super.

And the log cabin lady can get in the sea too, frankly.

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 15/03/2022 14:33

And yes, anyone believing 'two more weeks' REALLY hasn't been paying attention!

SayYouDontMind · 15/03/2022 14:33

Oh bugger was hoping the masks would be off Sad I think I might not comply.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:33

Oh god aye to the head of NHS Grampian. She is super annoying.

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 14:34

@mibbelucieachwell

Indeed *@FoxyFoxyLoxy*

Contact tracing until end April.

Yeah right. Nobody is scanning or checking in or anything. I also find it really hard to remember who I was in contact with, don't you? Grin
mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:36

Douglas Ross asking (after a lot of waffle) about face masks. But without referencing the lack of data to support her decision. At least he's asking what the criteria for ditching the face masks will be.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:38

Yes I have a terrible memory.

I might not remember to report a positive test either. That's how dreadful my memory is.

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 14:38

She can also take the word "prudent" and shove it sideways.

Scottishskifun · 15/03/2022 14:41

Really hate it when I agree with Douglas Ross!!! He's right why are we wasting millions on routine testing when that could be spent tackling backlog!

I have exemption anyway but gutted I'm going to be stared and no date just the unicorn 2 weeks........ah the irony that it's a symbol of Scotland!

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 15/03/2022 14:41

@mibbelucieachwell

There might be a sudden epidemic of memory problems. Well if it's good enough for Nicola.....🤣
mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:41

@Y0uCann0tBeSer10us It hadn't occurred to me to forget to wear a mask but as you say, it would be easy to forget to wear one when you have a poor memory.

I'm really pleased Jackie Baillie is asking about the delay in positive immuno suppressed people getting the anti virals.

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 14:43

I predict my memory is going to get a lot worse, starting around... now.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:43

I heard from a friend that the anti virals aren't sent out at weekends.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:43

Well, stress is known to affect memory function.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:46

NS now claiming to follow JCVI advice GrinGrinGrin What a brass neck.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:47

Long covid clinic Q now being asked @Scottishskifun

Scottishskifun · 15/03/2022 14:49

Long covid clinic Q now being asked *@Scottishskifun*
What excuse did she give this time? I turned over before I caused expensive damage to the TV!
FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 14:50

We've spent all the money on Janey Godley adverts and an app which didn't work. Soz.

ResilienceWanker · 15/03/2022 14:51

@mibbelucieachwell

I heard from a friend that the anti virals aren't sent out at weekends.
That's outrageous! Given there's a very tight timescale in which they can be taken to be effective, I'd have thought of all things to prioritise, that would be one of them!

I, luckily, remembered to take a screenshot of the 21st March removal of masks date... and pop that in my calendar to remind me. But I haven't managed to look at any news since then, and I've got a very bad memory, so probably just as well that nothing has happened to change that date.

mibbelucieachwell · 15/03/2022 14:53

@Scottishskifun It was a silly Q as GPS are encouraged to provide 'holistic' support and the details will be in the SG covid strategy document.
I'm sure that knowing that makes you feel a lot better. Hmm
