@Scottishskifun

Ranting at the calls to delay mask lifting.....head of NHS Grampian saying it should be delayed to remind everyone there is still a pandemic.....not that they do anything just so we constantly don't forget or get any mental break from this shit show!
Well ffs. Can’t we just all agree to wear T-shirts saying ‘I Promise I Know There’s Still A Pandemic On’ if it means that much to them?

So many people seem wedded to the idea that the pandemic would stop being a problem if only people took it seriously, and the main reason behind all measures is dial up the general Taking-It-Seriouslyness of the population. Just why?

patritus · 15/03/2022 11:27

@Scottishskifun has she (or any of the other experts) answered the question as to why ** Scotland has such high rates? That's the bit that needs somet new thinking tather than just banging the same drum which isn't workingHmm
I'm heard her being asked that a couple of weeks ago snd she didn't answer the question!

patritus · 15/03/2022 11:35

Oops sorry about all the typos Blush

Morning railers. I remember thinking when the SG gave a planned date for scrapping some of the covid laws as kind of weird. Why not just announce it to come into effect shortly after the announcement? Did they hope the numbers would go down between the last announcement and 21st?

The lovely Dr Chris Smith on radio Scotland this morning was explaining that masks as worn by the public don't do much. Risk from getting covid now the same as getting flu. I hope NS is taking note.

An angry taxi driver was ranting on about people being selfish for not wearing a mask. I bet he never gave it a second thought before covid.

WouldBeGood · 15/03/2022 11:58

I’d like her to be asked about the studies that demonstrate that the restrictions do not make a difference

Is she your woman who sits in her cabin with the log burner? She gives me the RAGE.

DH had a wee rant at her on the breakfast news this morning - it's all right for her in her wee cabin staying safe and getting her NHS salary, like fuck am I keeping masks just as a wee reminder of the pandemic, where does she think we've been living for the last 2 years etc etc.

GoldenOmber · 15/03/2022 12:26

I like that I know who you meant and I’m still not sure if it was her or one of the other ones! “Ah, frequent media talking head on why it’s too soon to lift restrictions - that the log-burner woman, the huge library woman, the nice home study woman, the man with all the bookshelves?”

runningpink · 15/03/2022 12:39

I refuse to wear a mask after Monday regardless of what is said today. I have had enough and they said the 21st so they need to follow through.

I reckon it was the 21st rather than sooner so the rugby was finished!

hilbil21 · 15/03/2022 12:44

STV news just said masks are likely to remain mandatory. They can F off Hmm

Urgh. To be announced by Nicola standing up in Parliament without a mask on herself, I bet.
mapleleavesreturn · 15/03/2022 13:17

Oh goodness yes would god forbid anyone should have to justify continued restrictions with actual data and not simply meaningless statements about cautiousness.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 15/03/2022 13:57

Just seen from Chris musson on Twitter that masks are defo staying in law 😭 it's fine I don't wear one anymore but things like nurseries etc they will need to just more shite for the kids

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 13:58

Queen Covid - stay at home (while I fanny about at my podium each day). Keep your distance (while I take selfies with anyone who glances in my direction). Wear a mask (when I never do).

Fucking joke of a woman.

WouldBeGood · 15/03/2022 14:07

I truly loathe her

OP posts:
GoldenOmber · 15/03/2022 14:10

Remember back when they told us they wouldn’t keep any measures in place a minute longer than necessary?

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 14:13

And there's growing evidence that each of the 4 nations in the UK has come through this in the same way, no statistical difference.

BUT there's an election coming up, and the SNP faithful need reminding how different and special we are, and how much the dear leader cares.

I loathe her more than Salmond. And THAT'S saying something.

GoldenOmber · 15/03/2022 14:14

Do they really want to go into elections with sky-high case numbers and masks still in place? I know some people think the second cancels out the first, but I’m not sure most of the population is seeing this as a stonking Keeping Us Safe And Happy success.

Scianel · 15/03/2022 14:15

If they don't lift the restrictions it'll be an absolute farce as if numbers are rising it's proof that They. Don't. Fucking. Work.
Thick illogical arseholes.

You would think, but I have been told this is wrong because “without the masks they’d be even higher.”

The fact that there is a country just to the south of us without masks where cases are much lower is totally irrelevant.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 15/03/2022 14:20

That bastarding log cabin!

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 14:20

But they are (boo hiss) English people. We Scottish people (yay, cheer) with our superior Scottishness cannot be compared with those people because we are SPECIAL and DIFFERENT.

SO fucked off.

hilbil21 · 15/03/2022 14:21

Read a great name for her yesterday.....Krankenstein. It's what I will be using going forward Smile

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 15/03/2022 14:22

I'm actually devastated by this news, and have just had a bit of a tearful argument with DH who doesn't understand and is all 'it's only masks...'. I'm actually surprised at how hard this is hitting me, but I think the point is it's NOT only masks (which are an inconvenience to me, but I could put up with them for a while), it's everything that the masks symbolise. The lack of normality which I desperately need back for the sake of my mental health, the fact that I still can't relax, that the restrictions are still there so I can 't get proper health care should I need it, and the fact that I'm so utterly powerless to do anything about this. It's clear that masks and other restrictions don't stop spread, we're in a worse position if anything, and yet we're all beholden to the whim of a few individuals who can literally do whatever they like and don't need to justify themselves to anyone. They just brush off demands for evidence, deflect and use dodgy statistics (or blame variants) on the rare occasions when they are challenged on anything. But apparently she's going to stop the requirement to take details at restaurants, so that's OK -because everyone was totally still doing that- It's just all so never-ending, we'll never be allowed to relax, and that is truly depressing.

hilbil21 · 15/03/2022 14:27

I'm not wearing one as of now. Will be exempt due to (mask wearing induced) anxiety if asked. Enough is enough.

FoxyFoxyLoxy · 15/03/2022 14:29

I'm with you @hilbil21. That's me done.
