The railing never ends.

No resilience wankery, all railing welcome, along with good things or humorous asides.

So did he actually say anything of importance ?

ecceromani · 15/12/2021 18:00

@Lockdownbear

So did he actually say anything of importance ?
Get you booster Get your booster Oh and he said get your booster

Which I've done 2 weeks ago so nothing of any value to me

Lockdownbear · 15/12/2021 18:09

So as predicted a load of finger wagging

OnceUponAWhine · 15/12/2021 18:20

Lots of ‘we’re jagging’ which sounded like ‘we’re Jammin’
With some Chris Whitty doom-laden figures thrown in.

Then Doris dashed off for a cheese and wine picky tea with colleagues.

ecceromani · 15/12/2021 18:22

I had hoped he was coming on to resign Hmm

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 15/12/2021 18:43

Christ our dear FM Twitter feed. Use the independence money if you are that worried

OnceUponAWhine · 15/12/2021 19:40

Apparently our dear FM and other ministers have volunteered to work in vaccination clinics over the Holyrood break.

I’m now rethinking getting my boosterXmas Grin

OnceUponAWhine · 15/12/2021 19:46

Urgh, I’ve just seen that gripe @IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021
Peak political posturingXmas Hmm

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/12/2021 11:42

Aw for fuck sake she's updating Parliament at 12.

What fresh hell will today bring

Lockdownbear · 16/12/2021 11:50

Auch she canny let BJ have a finger wagging session without her having one.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/12/2021 11:51

Parliament though? Scares the shite out of me when she goes there.

ResilienceWanker · 16/12/2021 11:58

Xmas Grin I know what you mean! Though, to be fair, it is her actual job. Can't really blame her for spending time there!

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/12/2021 12:01

I know 😂 I want to go to panto on Saturday so just hoping we make it that far.

rookiemere · 16/12/2021 12:19

Wondering if should try to get the relatives up this weekend and celebrate Christmas early.

WouldBeGood · 16/12/2021 12:20

I think that’s not a bad idea @rookiemere.

I do think there will be lockdown announced soon tbh.

Yeah today is Grim.

I just have my mum coming and she's local ish so not too worried. Have not yet finished my shopping so I am worried about that.

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 16/12/2021 12:36

Doesn't sound like any extra measures being announced today thankfully, just a stern speech about how omicron will dominate tomorrow, we're all going to die and there's no evidence that omicron is milder (well that's not true straight off the bat). And apparently she wants to press Westminster for extra money to close down 'support' businesses.

I can't help thinking that she's undermining the message with this hysterical tone. I agree that there is a large wave of infection coming, and reducing contacts slightly is probably sensible, but all this wailing about the apocalypse will just turn people off and they'll stop listening altogether. At this point people are just scunnered with it all and you have to bring them with you, not lecture, restrict and talk down to them like children.

WouldBeGood · 16/12/2021 12:41

I agree @Y0uCann0tBeSer10us.

This increasingly hysterical tone does not inspire confidence and is not good leadership.

Making noises about a circuit breaker except she has no money to pay for it and the last circuit breaker/ renamed/ extended / footered with lasted 9 months.

Nobody will fall for the circuit breaker nonsense again

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/12/2021 13:02

Covid doesn't scare me but these politicians fucking terrify me.

The devastation her so called "circuit breaker" will cause scares me more than this pandemic ever did.

HarrisMcCoo · 16/12/2021 13:10

No longer wanting us to socialise with three different households now, just read online... My initial mistake might end up being right after all. Total of 3 people per household at this rate....or no visitors at all at Christmas!🙁

Took LFTs for myself and my DC before heading out to hospital appointment this morning, checked our temperature etc. All safe to go. A little common sense when leaving our homes to go into crowded areas in the community is all that is needed. We are all aware this virus in now very transmissible, we just have to get on with living.

Panicking us all won't help.

hilbil21 · 16/12/2021 13:29

@HarrisMcCoo where did you read that?

hilbil21 · 16/12/2021 13:30

Not that I'm sticking to it. I'm out on Sunday (fingers massively crossed) with 9 friends Grin

rookiemere · 16/12/2021 13:35

Rookiepere has poo pooed my suggestion of moving Christmas forward and pronounces there will be no lockdown. However this is the man who gets all his news from the online Daily Telegraph, so I don't know how much to read into it. < he got a free subscription when he ordered wine a couple of years ago and he has never been the same since>

In other news he has supported my suggestion that we go out for lunch on Saturday to popular place that DS likes where it's hard to get a reservation. Suddenly there's lots of availability and I sincerely doubt our planned mid Jan trip for DHs birthday will take place.
