The enforcement side of things is a farse!

It will come down to EHOs who are already massively stretched, under resourced and not many local authorities do spot checks on nightclubs or events due to resources so its a bit of red herring other than possibly demonstrating it when their licence application is being done or in a risk assessment!

titsintiers · 29/09/2021 07:51

How's your holiday going @Scottishskifun? It's getting chilly here now

ElephantOfRisk · 29/09/2021 08:13

Misleading test and protect figures, who'd have thunk...

Misinterpreting data and presenting it in a misleading fashion to make the SG 'performance' during COVID better than it is is now quite a well established pattern. I honestly have no idea why anyone would take anything they say at face value.

They are a bunch of disingenuous fuckers

The SNP massaging figures? Surely not! With their data collection and reporting all they do have an established track record in is the final slicing and sleight of hand.

Coquohvan · 29/09/2021 11:54

Yet the faithful will follow like lemmings of a cliff. Hope this makes the news.

Lockdownbear · 29/09/2021 11:57

I can't believe so many people still trust them.

I really wish labour would get their act together, far too many won't vote tory because of Thatcher in the 80s

WouldBeGood · 29/09/2021 12:15

They have achieved some job creation at last: Social Security Scotland is to employ 2,000 more than forecast, so 3,500 people.

Seems a lot for a wee country!

What's the story here? How are they spinning things? I can't read the article without signing up, and I'm not doing that!

Labour have well and truly come off the rails now I think. I wouldn't vote for them for a million after the last week of misogynistic women-hating TRA subservient fucking ludicrous bollocks.

In basic terms, they excluded thousands of people whom they couldn't reach from the test and trace MI so it looked as if they were doing better than they were when actually the performance fell well short of WHO guidelines.

ResilienceWanker · 29/09/2021 13:30

Thanks!

So, basically, they contacted everyone. Apart from the people they didn't contact. Marvellous! Hmm FFS...

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 29/09/2021 13:31

Ha @ResilienceWanker when you put it like that it's crazy!

I won't vote tory due to the lot we have in now. Thatcher did a lot of things but even she can't be blamed for this lot.
ElephantOfRisk · 29/09/2021 15:08

Genuine non snarky question @ssd

In terms of your day to day life, what policies have the Tories implemented that affect that and what positive things have the SNP done to improve your day to day life?

I'm no fan of Boris etc but in reality, most of what affects me daily are things that the SNP have sole responsibility for.

I really wish there was a party that was left of center, without all the woke shite, that could be popular in Scotland but it's not happening...

WouldBeGood · 29/09/2021 15:08

I’m with you on that @ssd

OP posts:
ssd · 29/09/2021 16:05

Its not that i love the snp and hang on nicola sturgeons every word. I kind of hate thats assumed when you say youd like independence. The snp arent the only party here. Id love to be able to vote labour again. But the snp and the tories are all we have just now and if its a case of 10 years of tories, like its looking like it will be, at least, or trying for independence to get away from then then I'll vote for independence. I'd rather a strong labour government was in power but thats not happening anywhere. I dont mind some tory ministers, i liked ken clarke and john major. But this current crop makes my blood boil. They seem to be getting away with murder. And they aren't going anywhere. So right now, with no viable alternative, I'd like independence and we'll see how we go from there. Id actually like an amalgamation of moderate people from across the board to get together and sort this country out, i mean the uk. Then we wouldn't need independence. But it'll never happen.

WouldBeGood · 29/09/2021 16:13

I give you Brexit. That’s affected my life massively.

I don’t want independence though as I think that will make things much much worse.

So many of us are politically homeless. There should be an opportunity.

OP posts:
GoldenOmber · 29/09/2021 16:15

Also politically homeless. I went for SNP/Lab in last election, voted LD/Lab before that, now fairly pissed off with the lot of them. Every time I think “maybe I should give the LibDems another shot, what are they up to?” they’re doing something bonkers.

ElephantOfRisk · 29/09/2021 16:24

I don't want to get into a political argument but I was curious as to what the specifics were, anyone I've asked has never really had an answer. Health, Education, Social Care etc all sit squarely with the SNP. Most councils are SNP and also being run poorly. To be honest Westminster and all that doesn't really affect me so much as the devolved stuff so I care less about them. I didn't vote for Brexit but I think it's now become a convenient thing to blame everything else on.
I think the EU is about to change for the worse, I mean we've seen the way Macron chucks his toys out the pram and Merkle will be gone. It's just a different ball game to what was intended (or what we thought was intended).

Scexit would be worse, much worse. I thought for a while the independence side was gathering momentum but I can't see it happening soon. The percentage of people for it has not really changed since the last vote despite brexit and boris and all the other apparently significant stuff. I appreciate that is frustrating for those keen for it but personally I'm glad.

WouldBeGood · 29/09/2021 16:37

Brexit has affected my life adversely and removed the opportunities for myself and my children to travel, live or work in Europe.

Oh, on a different note, the SG is in court again this afternoon fighting against an interim interdict to stop the vaccine passports. In more idiocy, apparently a venue which plays music after midnight is a “nightclub” whether it’s an actual nightclub, bar or restaurant. However, if they turn the music off, bingo! Not a nightclub so no passports 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
