The end was not nigh,and still looking far far away, so here’s the latest thread.

Usual railing rules apply: all rails or good news welcome, no nauseating positivity or resilience wankery. 😃

What was she banned for? Have i missed a fight?

I had a shit sleep too. I've started using a tracker app that decided that the hour I was in bed before I gave up and put the lamp on again to read was a "nap", a nap that recorded no sleep at all. So it didn't then include it in the next cycle which started with me awake between 2 and 3.45ish still and then awake from 6.30 7.30 and then luckily because I'm not at work, I managed another hour after that.

Grin, i worked that out about 30 seconds after posting. In my defence, the cat has suddenly become a hoor for the pets and snuggies and is distracting me by shoving her claws into my leg every time I stop.

OnceUponAWhine · 16/08/2021 18:49

@WouldBeGood

The gym is so normal it’s weird! You can now even (gasp!) use a mat from the stack in the corner, and no weird rules about putting it back in an “unclean” pile
So 2019. Sounds good.
BridgetJonesPanties · 16/08/2021 18:51

parking bum

ssd · 16/08/2021 19:02

Its rubbish isnt it @WouldBeGood
Ive read that early waking can be a sign of menopause, just another lovely aspect of it Confused

I sleep really badly because I’m mental.

If anyone is interested, the Huberman Lab podcasts are really fascinating on the science of sleep, and lots of other things. I’m trying to improve my mind by listening

That would be something else to be thinking about and stopping me from sleeping! Grin.

@Scottishskifun

Parking my bum!

I have a good news one today I've managed a full day of work (all be it from home!) my first since end of March!

Daily fevers have mostly continued to stay at bay since 2nd jab other then when I really overdid it by attending a wedding and being on my feet the grand total of an hour! I'm starting to have small hope that it's permanent!

I can keep ontop of the other symptoms a lot easier when my body isn't reaching 38.8 each day! Bar the rotting smell which is still disgusting!

Oh, excellent news! Hope the smell goes soon though. It's a weird thing. Maybe the jag just gave your body something sensible to do to make antibodies, rather than mess around being antisocial and keep giving you a fever... The immunological equivalent of distracting a tantrumming toddler, who then forgets why they were tantrumming in the first place.

Glad you both had a good day groovee. Though hope they get the toilets sorted Grin. No handwashing facilities in the middle of a pandemic isn't a great idea! Have to say, I'm not a huge fan of sanitiser and don't use it in shops and so on unless there's someone there glaring at me, but I do like a good go with soap and water on arriving somewhere new, and then on leaving...

ElephantOfRisk · 16/08/2021 19:23

According to the app I had 99% sleep quality on Friday night. Might be true as I didn't have a nap on Saturday.

melatonin and weighted blankets worth a try for sleep quality if anyone hasn't given them a go. Weighted blankets sadly too hot at the moment!

There so so much advice about sleep out there.

I've been generally sleeping a lot better lately but then you get a night out of the blue where you feel you are back to square one. i'm trying to see if there is a pattern or whether it just depends what I have on and how anxious it makes me.

WouldBeGood · 16/08/2021 19:35

I have terrible nightmares and never sleep well. I feel dead sorry for myself 😃 It had got a bit better, but all this nonsense has made it worse again.

ssd · 16/08/2021 20:00

My problem ive figured it out, is tea. I love a cuppa and usually have one round about now, or even later, and i know I'll be up peeing during the night because of it....

WouldBeGood · 16/08/2021 20:02

@ssd 😃

OP posts:
ElephantOfRisk · 16/08/2021 20:14

I don't drink tea or coffee anyway and never have so the caffeine isn't so much a problem but DH can't have any after about 5ish so he's had to shift to green or rooibus tea and decaff coffee. Would any of that help @ssd?

I'm still up for the loo most nights though, which is just old age I assume.

ssd · 16/08/2021 20:20

I'll need to try decaff, but any i have tried is yucky!! I just really love a cup of tea, i hardly drink alcohol at all and tea is just something i love. Just a pity it irritates my bladder so much now i'm an auld bag Sad
