This is now a personal attack though.

Yet you want to abolish mask wearing to suit the small number of people who are worried about being challenged for not doing so?

How very strange.

Some small groups are more equal than others I guess.

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:31

But does perfectly illustrate why I’m anxious about not complying with the norm, so thank you

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:31

I do not care if other people want to wear masks.

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:32

I’ll just leave it, dunno if you’ve been on the bevy it are just horrible, but there’s no reasoning with it

OP posts:
forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:33

Okay well I apologise for using the term hissy fit however your mental health issues surrounding not wanting to be challenged about not wearing a mask don't trump people's fears about covid which you have belittled many a time.

Why is it okay for you to say all that on heat enough every thread you're on?

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:34

@WouldBeGood

No there's no reasoning with someone who continually belittles the fears of others while expecting her own issues to be off limits.
shouldistop · 12/08/2021 20:37

I admit I've probably missed a lot of posts on here but I haven't seen would be dismissive of anyone suffering from long covid and I've seen her say that she has absolutely no problem with other people wearing masks, she just doesn't want to be forced too.

Scottishskifun · 12/08/2021 20:38

@WouldBeGood

That’s absolute bollocks *@forfucksakenett*

I want evidence based, rational responses by the State when removing basic freedoms. That’s perfectly reasonable.

Completely agree that it should be rational based and many of them are not rational!

Ones off the top of my head.....
Masks in schools when outside of school kids will interact with nothing in place (as they should)
Restrictions in a swimming pool..... Full of chlorine which kills everything.....
Masks for walking to the toilet in a pub/restaurant/cafe
Masks in a supermarket which are usually high lofty warehouse type buildings with good ventilation

My area is small towns and by god the mask police are still about. I have had comments in the last 3 months usually from a random person in a shop (not the shop tbf).

Long covid is horrible can definitely vouch on that one especially with the lack of direction and support. But research does show double vaccination reduces the liklihood ten fold which is brilliant news. I do get very annoyed at it being used as an excuse for everything by SG when they still are completely lacking in medical support for GPs, public and referral options.

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:45

I would completely agree that the mask restrictions are no longer rational. Some scientists and advisers think otherwise.

I hate wearing it but I do it because I can. @WouldBeGood can't for very valid reasons. Her fear of being challenged however is irrational. Even if someone had a go, which is unlikely, then it's an unpleasant moment for seconds and then you move on. Why is it not okay for me to say this but it's okay for her to continually suggest that long covid is basically a tough shit side effect and we need to remove the restrictions anyway because there has always been post viral issues 🤷🏻‍♀️

ElephantOfRisk · 12/08/2021 20:48

Yet you want to abolish mask wearing to suit the small number of people who are worried about being challenged for not doing so?

Eh? No, we wan't it to be personal choice like the rest of the country. No-one is saying everyone has to stop wearing one, yet it's okay for people with trauma or the death or whoever to be told to wear one?

You seem to be a hard of thinking on this one and dismissive or people's issues and no you weren't having a personal rail, you were dismissing others concerns because they don't fit with your narrative.

If I had to guess then i'd say that you aren't wearing a mask while complaining that other people aren't considering long covid and you don't want breathing difficulties.

ElephantOfRisk · 12/08/2021 20:50

How is being challenged irrational? Aren't people's mental health concerns valid? I think masks are a waste of time but some posters here find them a comfort. I would defend their right to wear one without challenge whilst still believing that we shouldn't be legally required to.

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:54

People with trauma have never had to wear a mask. There have always been exemptions.

All railing is about one's narrative not aligning with another's narrative surely so I'm not sure of your point there.

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:55

Yes. Completely valid. Just as valid as the fears surrounding covid and long covid which have been completely and repeatedly dismissed by certain folk.
ElephantOfRisk · 12/08/2021 20:56

No-one has dismissed anything, you are delusional. people have said that there needs to be proportionality.

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:57

It's as irrational as being frightened of covid.

If you catch covid are you likely to die? No. (

Are you likely to get challenged for wearing a mask? No. If you are is it likely to escalate? No.

Yet we are allowed to rail and worry about not wearing a mask but to be frightened of covid is ridiculous?

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:58

@ElephantOfRisk feel free to scroll back through this thread and countless others. You won't have to go too far.

Mistressiggi · 12/08/2021 20:59

I do think Covid as a risk has been poo-pooed regularly on this thread. I do think I am at risk from Covid - chances are I'd be fine but there's certainly no guarantee of it, people in better shape and younger have been hospitalised even post vaccine - but I figure that's the nature of the thread so I'm not going to argue about it. It's like going on the Christmas bargains thread and saying Santa should be abolished.

ElephantOfRisk · 12/08/2021 20:59

@forfucksakenett

All railing is about one's narrative not aligning with another's narrative surely so I'm not sure of your point there.

Well yes they have in practice because people suffering from trauma don't want to stand out and be asked why they are except. People suffering from trauma may not have discussed this even with family and partners so again would need to explain.

It's then easier just to avoid going out and limiting your own life.

And again, it's not fight club it's guilt free railing. So rail your own rail and don't start picking on other people who don't agree with you - it's pretty simple.

I appreciate that I'm not obeying that either now but there are obviously reasons.

ElephantOfRisk · 12/08/2021 21:01

why should I do that? It's you that is making accusations about others with no back up. So if you aren't prepared to back it up then i'll continue to dismiss it as nonsense.

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 21:04

It’s a shame the thread has gone bonkers.

I accept that @forfucksakenett’s rail is against me. I did say all railing allowed.

Now, maybe a cute story about something like a baby @shouldistop? I remember when DD went to school she didn’t realise she had to go back after the first day - oops!

OP posts:
titsintiers · 12/08/2021 21:05

My wee one was the same @WouldBeGood she came home delighted that school was 'done' only another 13 years to go sweetheart.....

shouldistop · 12/08/2021 21:06

Hope you're ok would. When does your boy go back to school?

Baby ds did not nap well today, had to put him to bed at 6pm so suspect I'll be up at 5 Hmm Big ds is very happy he's going back to school tomorrow.

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 21:06

Yes @titsintiers! 😂

I made sure to make things clear to DS!

ElephantOfRisk · 12/08/2021 21:07
