Is the end nigh?

Solar panels and an electric tractor? Given that none of them have ever had a job, I think their views on how people live are very narrow and there is little understanding or empathy shown in anything. NS is purely a political animal, i'd be surprised if she thinks about anything else other than herself and how she can stay at the top. No doubt a job in Europe somewhere is on the cards and that other gobshite Angus will be shoo-ed in. I sincerely hope I am wrong.

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 19:31

They have absolutely no idea about living in rural Scotland.

@ElephantOfRisk

I won't go maskless either while it's still enforceable. In terms of trouble? Confrontation mainly, I live somewhere where mask compliance is high. I hope folk who voted for this shower are still complying?
I'm sure it happens but I doubt confrontation can be all that common. I've never seen it. I saw a server in a restaurant ask someone if they had a mask. The person said no I don't wear one with a breezy smile. The smile was returned and the person seated. 🤷🏻‍♀️ have literally never seen anyone taken to task in however long this has gone on.

Voting for a a party doesn't mean that you need to agree with every policy, idea, and law they pass so your final statement is a bit silly really. Lots of SNP supporters won't be complying and lots of Tories will. It's hardly a party issue.

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 19:54

I’m incredibly anxious about people questioning me in public as I already feel so weird about it all. It’s maybe hard to understand if your are lucky enough not to be affected.

OP posts:
forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 19:59

But who on earth would question you? Surely it wouldn't go beyond a shopkeeper or server asking if you had one? You don't have to prove exemption.

No. Smile. Move on.

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:00

I'm in the Glasgow ish area and then would say that mask compliance is lessening by the day. A huge chunk of folk not wearing them now.

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:01

You just don’t understand. Be grateful for that

OP posts:
forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:02

I don't see why you're allowed your fears but everyone else needs to just not be frightened of covid/ long covid. 🤷🏻‍♀️

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:05

Ah, it’s a personal snipe. Ok.

OP posts:
forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:06

I suppose I mean I can understand someone being frightened of an actual illness with potential long term side effects rather than having to say no to a complete stranger who has no control or power over me who asks me if I have a mask.

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:07

As I’ve said before, I have CPTSD and it’s triggered by masks and other stuff. It’s quite unpleasant.

Restrictions need to be proportionate.

OP posts:
forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:07

Not a personal snipe. A genuine question. You are exceptionally vocal that people just need to get over their covid issues.

If you have your own covid related fears then I would have thought you might have been a bit more understanding.

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:08

That's really a horrible thing to say @forfucksakenett and a perfect example of why I’m anxious.

@Lockdownbear

The new rules around who does/doesn't need to isolate are going to be "interesting" in the workplace where people can't work from home.

Here's a bonkers contradiction on that. Kid turns up at nursery with covid. Their nursery class don't need to self isolate but the staff do.
Who's looking after the kids when the staff are isolating?

Honestly there are more holes in the rule book than the average fishing net.

Well if you are lucky to get supply it may be ok. Otherwise it may be ok with part time staff who maybe missed the close contact.
WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:10

I have also had health anxiety in the past ;related to the above; and have made massive efforts to overcome that, hence my rational approach to risk.

Nothing is as scary as horrible people though.

@riverrunning

I'd love to see where the summer fun money went in Edinburgh, I saw one local school was offering to teach you how to make candles pot of recycled food or some such...

Why can't we offer vaccine incentives like the US is? I don't think we should be coercing teachers or anyone else either and I'm not an anti vaxxer, it's just too far.

What summer fun money?
forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:11

I'm not sure why that's a horrible thing to say at all.

You have no problem invalidating and belittling the fears of others. You have done so many times.

ElephantOfRisk · 12/08/2021 20:12

Well exactly. More unpleasantness on a thread that's meant to be guilt free railing.

I'm in the same boat @WouldBeGood and it's not covid related anxiety. It's restriction related anxiety. I'm not in Glasgow but well seeing it's happening in the SNP vote factory, people not giving a shit that it's their votes that have brought us this continued restriction - lets not worry about that though as some posters wouldn't give a shit if they were challenged anyway.

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:13

I'm more scared of long term breathing problems than having to say to someone that I don't want to wear a mask but I do suppose that everyone has different fears and they are all valid.

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:17

Well maybe I find it unpleasant when certain posters continually say that long covid is irrelevant. We need to get over it. It is harmless etc etc.

Guilt free railing isn't restricted to a singular viewpoint.

Groovee · 12/08/2021 20:17

Just been to the crazy golf that we booked for last October. It felt quite normal. Only had to wear your mask to be seated before golf then heading to the garden outside after. Edinburgh City Centre is definitely busier. It's just hard to play golf when you have a sore back and I couldn't get off the high bar stool.

ElephantOfRisk · 12/08/2021 20:20

It's not no, but neither is it fight club. have your own rail by all means.

I presume given your concerns you are still wearing a mask then?

We cannot have laws for the whole of society on the basis of a small number of people. It's just not right. There are more people still being caused problems with mental health etc related to stupid restrictions than there are that might be affected by post viral complications.

forfucksakenett · 12/08/2021 20:27

I am having my own rail. Here on the railing thread.

It sticks in the craw a bit when a poster who over the last few months has been particularly dismissive over people's fears and worries has a hissy fit when asked about her own fears about being potentially being challenged over not wearing a mask.

WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:29

That’s absolute bollocks @forfucksakenett

I want evidence based, rational responses by the State when removing basic freedoms. That’s perfectly reasonable.

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 12/08/2021 20:29

I did not have a hissy fit. I explained my mental health issues.
