"Re the masks in schools, I think SG have backed themselves into a corner over this.
You could be right, someone pointed out at Weddings masks are required in the service when everyone is sitting facing the front bit not at the reception when people are socialising and the booze is flowing."
So surely the only sensible and logically consistent thing to do is to make them optional in all settings and let people use common sense 🤷♀️ It frees up teachers to teach and children to learn, and stops the stupid contradictions like the fact a room full of strangers can breathe heavily on each other in an exercise class or dancefloor, but have to mask up to walk down the corridor or to the toilet, or as above when sitting in rows completely still at a wedding reception. Children can gather in houses in large numbers with no restrictions whatsoever, but in school their education is impeded by masks despite them being at minimal risk and their teachers being vaccinated. The rules as they are now are a poorly thought out farce that cannot possibly be making a dent in transmission. That's if transmission even matters anymore, which the SG seems to accept it doesn't by continuing to open up despite high numbers! Ironically as it dawns on everyone that this is little more than theatre it might make them more likely to question the point of them completely.
