Starting this thread for those of us who are done. I don’t want to just rail or fight about it with those who still believe that government messaging is in our best interest. Enough is enough.

Not shallow at all, it's what proper folk do!

To be fair i've been blessed with reasonably good skin from my mum, well I've come to appreciate that it is after watching that series! I've done an honest appraisal - I wasn't exactly stunning to start with, but at 55, what i would get would be that thing he was doing with plumping the chin to decrease the jowls I can see, and i've got a heavy frown line because of the stress so a wee bit of botox or filler on that would be fab. I wouldn't go back to dying my hair though and I'm not going to talk about the body!

I get amazed that these people who have no time to do much more than wash and always scrap back their hair are given dye jobs that will look absolutely shit in 4 weeks time. Where are they going to suddenly get the time and money to maintain them i have no clue.

RaraRachael · 01/07/2021 23:30

Birdsandbeesmakinghay I found them pretty true to size. I've always been a 12 and they fitted perfectly

Messaging from England tonight very much for lifting all restrictions on 19th. Let’s hope we follow!

Mood from hotel staff/taxi drivers last night in Glasgow very much for lifting. Maybe the end is near..?

I hope so I don’t know how they can ask people to follow restrictions when they have allowed thousands into football stadiums.

Our neighbour from Hampshire was signing and handing out bottles of lager. It's a blue block, but his enthusiasm is infectious and well, free lager! Smile One freak saw his stuff on his veranda and tried it on but we ran it off because, free lager!

osbertthesyrianhamster · 04/07/2021 01:00

He's a sound bloke, too. And we didn't socially distance.

AlphabetAerobics · 04/07/2021 09:01

Heard on the wireless yesterday that today is the official THANK YOU day as deigned by our Supreme Leader.

I've rounded up the neighbours for a socially-distanced uniformed march through the village to celebrate HER.

Don't worry - I made them all get tested first even though nobody feels sick. It's better to be safe than sorry.

PS WTF???? National "thank you" day?

rookiemere · 04/07/2021 09:04

@AlphabetAerobics what exactly are we saying thank you for Hmm?

AlphabetAerobics · 04/07/2021 09:05

I'm not sure. But I've made rainbow uniforms to cover all bases.

Yes there's a positive article on the BBC with Sajid Javid pointing out that though cases will rise substantially, the ongoing restrictions are causing worse impacts on health, as well as the economy. And masks will be "personal choice". Obviously, we'll have to wait and see what is actually announced, but that acknowledgement that it's not just a "health vs economy" argument seems quite significant. Fingers crossed that NS doesn't lose her nerve on the 9th Aug. Cos even then she's been chatting about keeping masks in shops and so on.

Yay for lager osbert. That sounds fun.

And wtf is Thank You Day? Is this bringing back The Clap?

WouldBeGood · 04/07/2021 10:21

Dear god. I googled thank you day:

**
From 1pm, Covid-compliant street parties, picnics and Tartan Tea Parties will be held for people to come together and community choirs will lead a national sing-along at 3pm.**

WouldBeGood · 04/07/2021 10:21

And cheers to free lager!

Fucks sake. I'm glad I'm considered plague-infected so couldn't be expected to attend one of those, even if I had wanted to. I thought "people coming together" was still a no-no? Unless football, of course. And community singing is still out too, I thought. Definitely is in my church. Hmm But, hey, if it's "thank you" singing, that's fine...
WouldBeGood · 04/07/2021 10:46

How you feeling @ResilienceWanker?

In England they’re getting Ross Kemp, and Levi Roots to lead a community cookout..

RaraRachael · 04/07/2021 10:46

I think everybody has had enough. Here we are, obeying all the rules when football and other sports have large crowds enjoying almost normal conditions.
I think there would be mass protests if any restrictions were continued beyond the 19th. not that I'd put anything past NS

rookiemere · 04/07/2021 11:11

I'm almost glad it's started raining to put paid to any thank you street parties. Jeezo what a grim idea, I presume we don't have that w*nky song they're bleating about in England at least ?

ResilienceWanker · 04/07/2021 11:17

I'm very snotty wouldbegood Grin (well, you did ask!) Still a bit woozy but the temperature and headache have gone. My guess is summer cold again but waiting to see what the PCR wonks think...

Frankly, if this is what it takes to avoid a community cook out, I'm taking it.

WouldBeGood · 04/07/2021 12:04

😂 @ResilienceWanker. Hope you feel better soon.

Bloody Devi is out again, slagging off Javid 🙄 I genuinely think she wants us locked up for good. Crazed.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 04/07/2021 12:09

Scotland has 6 out of the top 10 worst areas in the world for Covid rates per 100,000. England has 2.
Congratulations to Tayside for coming top. Gin Flowers. So I'm not sure we'll be allowed any further freedom anytime soon. Hope I'm wrong though.

(as read in the Sunday Times)

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 04/07/2021 12:13

I follow Roddy Dunlop on Twitter and he was calling out Devi in that latest tweet where she seems to have wilfully misinterpreted what Sajid Javid said. At no point does he say 'COVID is like flu' (although I suspect it's not far off once the vaccination effect is consudered). He says 'we need to learn to live with it, as we live with flu', which is clearly a different statement but doesn't fit her agenda. A government advisor who at best doesn't read things properly before responding, or at worst deliberately misrepresents a statement to make a political point, is a very worrying state of affairs. It's not the first time she's done something like this either. I've honestly never come across a less professional scientific expert than Devi Shridhar and I'm glad thd SG seem to be finally moving away from her 'vision'.

WouldBeGood · 04/07/2021 12:19

Yes. Huge rates thanks to zero Covid Devi!

To be fair, the rates of testing across the uk are mentally high compared to other countries. We appear to be obsessed with seeking out asymptomatic, aka healthy, people to test positive, for some bizarre reason.

I remember some dangerous comments of hers re AZ vaccine - unfounded too. And then she threw a strop & blocked a scientist who questioned her

RaraRachael · 04/07/2021 18:37

Apparently mask wearing is going to be left up to the individual in England after the 19th. In Scotland it is still going to be necessary.

Why am I not surprised? Hmm

I'm seriously getting fed up on the nannying that's accepted in Scotland, except when it comes to being a disabled person who needs a practical form of nannying/social care, of course Wink.
