Both DH and I have had mild sore throats, slightly runny noses and feeling under the weather for the past few days Confused.
But both double jabbed and temperatures within normal range so just ignoring it.

Presumably this means we should go straight to hell on a hand cart.

RedactedTaeFeck · 17/06/2021 10:07

Just checked and my bmi at that point would have been around 16. I think in latter years it was more based on appropriate bmi rather than just a weight limit.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 17/06/2021 10:47

16! Wow.

RedactedTaeFeck · 17/06/2021 11:22

I've been 5'10 since age 16, it took me to age 18 to get over 8 stone, when I started work at 17, I was about 7 and a half stone. Until my 30s I was still only about 8 stone.

RedactedTaeFeck · 17/06/2021 11:28

About 9 stone in my 30s pre kids, not 8.

Looking pretty good, thanks @dancemom

WouldBeGood · 17/06/2021 18:54

Posted on railing, but worth sharing good news: risk of Covid falls sharply 21 days after first jag

SoMuchForSummerLove · 17/06/2021 19:57

That is good news - I'll have to have a proper read, does it take into account Delta?

WouldBeGood · 17/06/2021 20:02

It is good news. Here’s the link Evening Standard

Tbh I’m even less worried about delta now I know the symptoms are like hay fever 😂

WouldBeGood · 17/06/2021 20:36

Further good news. Big Indian study

My, I’m a veritable Pollyanna this evening

florafoxtrot · 17/06/2021 20:37

Thanks for sharing @WouldBeGood. That is really reassuring.

Few weeks to go until second jab!

WouldBeGood · 17/06/2021 20:41

We’re getting there @florafoxtrot! 😊

Covid briefing at 12.15 today

Thanks @dancemom
Wonder what that's about?

dancemom · 18/06/2021 10:37

Random for a Friday, probably to lecture about watching the game safely and condemn the fans who travelled unsafely 🙄

Just saw this image on the Zoe site. It's a map showing the percentage of people vaccinated per area. I don't know how it's split or why England is divided up so much more, but I was quite astonished looking at it, how so many areas haven't got that high a % of people jabbed. Obviously there are variances in terms of ages in uni towns, maybe more hesitancy in multicultural communities, etc.

It's not as uniformly great as I would have thought.

There's often a Friday one though, isn't there? It's when JS used to be wheeled out in place of NS to make some ill advised comments that they spent the weekend trying to row back from. And now it seems to be Tues (NS in parliament) and Friday (podium press conf). I imagine it'll be something about the football. But on Tues she also said something about reports on what "beyond zero" would look like, and a review of physical distancing too I think. So maybe those will be launched/ mentioned? (DH hopes so, as they are frantically trying to work out their timetables for the next year (uni teaching) , so knowing if they are still working on a 2m distancing or 1.5m or 1m would be really helpful in knowing what's possible and how many rooms and staff they need!)

latissimusdorsi · 18/06/2021 11:38

That's interesting @SoMuchForSummerLove

wonder if it's anything to do with ethnicity? I've read that certain ethnic groups are not coming forward for their jag in the same numbers as rest of the population.
Scotland only has 4 % bame population but I think in England it's about 3 times more and obviously varies a lot by area.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 18/06/2021 11:47

Yes I guess that must be a factor. Interesting though eh?

titsintiers · 18/06/2021 11:49

The thing that jumps out to me from that map is Welsh coverage is high and there infection rates/ deaths are low

dancemom · 18/06/2021 12:31

Nicola Sturgeon begins with an update of the latest Covid figures.
The first minister confirms that a further 950 people have tested positive for Covid-19 - which is 3.5% of tests carried out yesterday.
This takes the total number of positive cases in Scotland to 251,911.
There are 128 people in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19, 12 fewer than yesterday.
Twelve people are in intensive care, unchanged from the previous figure.
There have been two deaths in the past 24 hours of people who have tested positive in the previous 28 days.
That brings the total number of deaths by that measurement to 7,690.

Today’s figures seem a bit better than previous few days. So glad hospitalisations and death remaining low.
