I'm quite disappointed I didn't book tickets for the fanzone. It looks like good fun. Grin

Haudyourwheesht · 09/06/2021 16:33

@cricket13

I'm just curious re: school graduations, leaving ceremonies, if there is official guidance on this or just individual schools making their own calls?

The impression I'm getting from our nursery is that they're following direct government guidance.

WouldBeGood · 09/06/2021 16:40

It does look fun @Haudyourwheesht!

It does, although my benchmark for fun is a LOT lower than it was in 2019.

Random question ladies (and any lads who may frequent the board). What do you think the chances are of our esteemed leader (or for that matter BOJO) putting rules in place between Scotland and England between now and 18th July. You may remember we have been massive law breakers previously and driven to England when such rules have been in place but you're kind of in control of your own destiny when you do that.

I don't drive and am umming and ahhing about booking EasyJet flights to visit one of my best friends while husband is away working (Glasgow to Gatwick) but I'm loathed to spend £140 for me and my 6 year old if I'm not going to be able to go! I hate the flamin unknown of it all Angry

cricket13 · 09/06/2021 16:51

@Haudyourwheesht thanks that's interesting, we keep being told they are not yet sure if parents will be allowed

rookiemere · 09/06/2021 17:01

@hilbil21 I'd think chances were practically nil of Scotland putting any blanket travel bans between here and England between now and mid July. Our rates are higher than England atm.

hilbil21 · 09/06/2021 17:03

@rookiemere I know that's what I'm thinking. EasyJet do say you can change your flight to any of their destinations at any time between now and September so think I'm just going to take the gamble Smile if I leave it much longer the prices will just go up and up.

duvetdrama · 09/06/2021 17:05

Anyone know how I can find out online when my second dose will be? I know I've seen a website being mentioned on here before but can't remember what it is...

titsintiers · 09/06/2021 17:08

Try here

vacs.nhs.scot/csp

duvetdrama · 09/06/2021 17:32

Thanks @titsintiers it says no upcoming appointments so guess I've got a bit to wait still for dose 2

LizzieMacQueen · 09/06/2021 17:36

@HadEnoughOfBears Out of interest, whereabouts roughly are you?

rookiemere · 09/06/2021 17:40

@hilbil21 definitely go for it, Easyjet are fantastic with their flexibility, although it would be nice to actually fly somewhere at some point in time with our much rescheduled flights.

If you need insurance I've just taken a policy out with stsysure which covers you if your trip is cancelled because of covid or track and trace.

@latissimusdorsi

Did anyone hear Humza being questioned on Fanzone yesterday? I heard bit on car radio where he said they couldn't make testing mandatory as it would disadvantage people who are digitally excluded. He then went on to talk about all the safety measures including Glasgow city council EMAILING all ticket holders to encourage them to take test, use of QR codes🤷🏼‍♀️
I heard this. Made me shout at the car radio.

Also, ordering food / drink is via an app. Ideal for the "digitally excluded" who can't possibly take a test.

Perihelion · 09/06/2021 18:55

DH just got his second blue envelope today. Booked for exactly 10 weeks after the first dose, on the 20th June. He's 51 and in Edinburgh.
From what I've read, bringing forward AZ jags is easier as they have millions in stock.

Coquohvan · 09/06/2021 19:06
@Coquohvan Would the Pushmepullyou need 2 masks? Could it get Covid at both end?
🤣 bigger question is where does my thermometer go 🤪

latissimusdorsi · 09/06/2021 20:25

Yes @Cismyfatarse it was like he'd heard this catchy little phrase "digitally excluded" and had no idea what that actually meantHmm

Sausagema · 09/06/2021 21:01

I could scream. My 4 year old has had their entire nursery career (jan entry) blighted by covid. They start school in August, so far there’s been all online rubbish for it, however next week they were meant to meet their teacher IN PERSON in the playground for a story. Due to increasing cases in the area (that went down to level 1 last week and no one in the school is isolating) it has been cancelled. I am so bloody done with this shite, there’s 15 of them OUTDOORS. What is going to happen do they think?!

WouldBeGood · 09/06/2021 21:19

Oh, @Sausagema that’s really shite 💐

randomsabreuse · 09/06/2021 21:29

That's rubbish @Sausagema!

The new P1s were in my DC's school today, so her class spent the day in the hall and at their forest school (playpark).

tigger1001 · 09/06/2021 21:47

@Pootle40

Can't watch a P7 leaving ceremony......just on video. This is bollocks. I should be thankful my son has dyspraxia as we get a whole actual 30 minute visit to high school tomorrow.
Yep our p7 leavers service is online too. Am sure it will be great, the teacher really does put in a great effort and the kids have been working on it for weeks now but it's just not the same.

No visit to high school either. Last years leavers still managed a tour but here we are a year down the line and this years leavers are getting less.

Am glad your wee one is getting a tour, it really does help them feel more at ease if they have at least been round the building.

The situation all round is just rubbish

WouldBeGood · 09/06/2021 21:49

It is getting worse.

What was the point of the vaccines? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sausagema · 09/06/2021 22:00

It certainly feels pointless right now. I got the vaccine to protect myself, others, but mostly to get my life back!
