@florafoxtrot sadly for many like me outside of Edinburgh with long covid England is a magical place as they have long covid clinics!

I'm having to get most of my information from a long covid Facebook page on tips on how to move forward.

titsintiers · 31/05/2021 20:23

@WouldBeGood

My second is 13th June
Yay, another little prick for you @WouldBeGood 💉
WouldBeGood · 31/05/2021 20:26

I’m sorry you’re still so poorly. I hope you can access support soon.

Just realised I had put this on another thread yesterday where an English person was complaining that Scotland was further ahead! So we are a bit ahead in first doses and a bit behind for second. So yes 1% is a lot of people but that works both ways.

Guys, HELP!

I have a boring but important (to me) question:

Is Glasgow its own region? Or is it part of Strathclyde?

Google tells me both are true...and I need to be sure for a work thing.

Haudyourwheesht · 01/06/2021 09:33

Glasgow city is its own administrative region. I don't think Strathclyde exists any more, does it?

Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the health board.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 01/06/2021 09:44

That's what I thought! But a client told me I was wrong...

Thank you!

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 01/06/2021 09:49

SoMuch it depends on the exact question really, and the exact location(s) in question, and possibly how an organisation defines its component parts.
In terms of local authorities, the administrative region of Strathclyde hasn't existed for years, possibly decades.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 01/06/2021 10:18

Thanks - it's industry specific so I've gone with their own descriptors.

Scottishskifun · 01/06/2021 11:40

Anyone know what time the info is today?

Is it a podium one or a parliament one?

I hope the whole take into consideration proximity to other councils/hospital reliance goes from last year especially as vaccination is showing low hospital rates!

florafoxtrot · 01/06/2021 11:56

Scottish Parliament briefing from 2.30pm.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 01/06/2021 12:48

Oh thanks for that, I didn't know there was an update today.

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 01/06/2021 13:20

parliament briefing will probably be nearer 2pm as there's no topical questions today

dancemom · 01/06/2021 13:53

2:15 according to Twitter

Glasgow to move to level 2 and most of central belt to stay in level 2.

Haudyourwheesht · 01/06/2021 14:27

Islands going to 0.

dancemom · 01/06/2021 14:31

• 478 new cases of COVID-19 reported
• 16,489 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
â—¦ 3.1% of these were positive
• 0 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
• 10 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
• 106 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
• 3,267,290 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 2,075,231 have received their second dose

It's disappointing to hear that progress in most of the central belt is being 'paused', and quite a big psychological blow tbh. NS admits that the link to cases is pretty much broken and hospitals aren't under pressure, yet cases still seem to be the driving factor in decisions. Since we're now trawling people who aren't even sick for positive results, I expect that cases will remain high for some time, maybe all the way to Autumn when the seasonality of the virus will kick in, so it doesn't leave me with a lot of hope. I know that functionally there isn't a huge difference between levels 1 and 2, but at least a step down to level 1 feels like movement towards an end goal rather than being stuck in limbo indefinitely.

Just scrolling through this thread and misread this as

Does Glasgow have its own religion.

My immediate unconscious thought was - yes, yes of course it does Grin

florafoxtrot · 01/06/2021 14:41

Sorry @SoMuchForSummerLove! My time was half an hour out Blush

UmpteenthTime · 01/06/2021 14:43

Can someone in Glasgow go on holiday to one of the islands?
Can you leave a Tier 2 area to visit a Tier 0 area ?

florafoxtrot · 01/06/2021 14:46

Yes. In level 2 there are no travel restrictions. They do ask that you take a lateral flow test before travelling to the islands but that's guidance of course.
UmpteenthTime · 01/06/2021 14:48

Thanks, that’s great news.

Iluvfriends · 01/06/2021 14:52

Glasgow level 2 from Saturday....thank god for that.
