I’d leave her in the car if you can @mondaywine. You won’t be in for long as it’s super slick.

Lockdownbear · 23/05/2021 15:54

I assume she has a phone and could call you if she needs too?

Most people seem to be in and out quickly. I don't know if something went wrong the day DH and I got ours but we were a full hour in the place (inc the 15mins before we drove off time)

WouldBeGood · 23/05/2021 15:59

Oh my goodness, @Lockdownbear, that’s rubbish. I was just told to wait in car for 15 minutes after jag. I must’ve been in the place for 10minutes max

mondaywine · 23/05/2021 16:13

Yeah she has a phone so could get me in an emergency. It’s typical. I rearranged as this date suited work better but changes to Mr Wine’s working day means it doesn’t actually suit me!

rookiemere · 23/05/2021 20:12

I had my second one on Saturday- it was very slick and (yay) no side effects this time.
Visited DPs today - first legal visit since September although could have claimed we were up in a caring capacity previously. Ironically this is the first visit where I actually did some caring as DM had her cataracts done during the week so I was putting her eye drops in. She still refuses to let DF go anywhere but at least we were able to get us all a takeout carvery.

I'd like to rail about the nonsensical road signs, poor DH gets a mouthful of invective every time I see them " Covid 19 - Level 2 , Be prepared , Save Lives". WTF does that actually mean ? Are they suggesting one brings a portapotty to stop dangerous toilet visits, or where a hasmat suit when visiting loved ones ? It feels like living in 1984 with double speak.

WouldBeGood · 23/05/2021 20:14

I think the road signs encourage national bonding as surely everyone makes rude gestures and swears at them? 😃

Good news on the second jag and seeing your DPs @rookiemere

The road signs are nuts. Not sure what they actually want people to do.

RABT Convoy is the one that makes me giggle. Every time I read it as RABBIT, I picture a bunch of wee rabbits hopping up and down the road. Grin

WouldBeGood · 23/05/2021 22:36

😂 what does that mean, @Lockdownbear?

OP posts:
ElephantOfRisk · 23/05/2021 22:37

RABT = Rest and be Thankful I think.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 24/05/2021 08:13

Oh yes the road signs! 'Plan Ahead, Save Lives'. WTF am I supposed to be planning? ScotGov have made it pretty difficult to plan anything in the last year.

latissimusdorsi · 24/05/2021 08:25

Yes I too thought plan ahead was bit ironic! Plan for what🤷🏼‍♀️

titsintiers · 24/05/2021 08:28

A dystopian future?

RaspberryCoulis · 24/05/2021 08:35

@shouldistop

I think east Dunbartonshire will be back in level 3 very soon Sad
I'm in East Dunbartonshire and this will make zero difference to me. I am so done with it all that I am not going to adhere to it any more. Obviously I can't force a pub to serve me if it's not open. But people in and out of the house - definitely.

If you look at the wee map with the cases broken down by neighbourhood that tells a better picture. 16 cases in two areas in Bearsden - 8 in each - which turns them a scary red on the map. No cases at all in neighbouring areas, there have been no isolations at my kids' school although there have at the school covering the areas with cases.

Anyway, we need to stop looking at cases. Doesn't matter. At this stage, hospitalisations matter and those are flat. Despite however many weeks of everyone in Glasgow being seriously ill with it. Hmm

Flossy05 · 24/05/2021 09:34

@mondaywine my friend took her 12 year old and it wasn’t a problem at all.

Groovee · 24/05/2021 16:47

Oh I don't feel great. Hopefully a soak in the bath and an early night will help x

WouldBeGood · 24/05/2021 16:55

Oh, @Groovee that’s a shame. Get yourself tucked up, pop some paracetamol and get MrG to bring you a nice hot drink.

OP posts:
ResilienceWanker · 24/05/2021 17:02

Oh no... Sorry to hear that groovee. Yes, paracetamol and an early night sound like a Plan. (an actual sensible Plan, not a "plan ahead, save lives" kind of plan which isn't a plan at all 'cos you can't plan anything when your plan will have to change as the govt changes its mind).

LOL at the rabbits!

frasersmummy · 24/05/2021 17:16

Right I'm confused and annoyed

Some media outlets are saying the Euros will go ahead and NS has agreed in principle to 6000 people in Glasgow green

Other media outlets are saying Glasgow's case numbers are climbing towards level 4 lockdown..

Surely at this stage the Scottish govt should make a clear policy and tell us what their plans are..not just for the Euros

I notice test positivity in Glasgow is up to 4% and the r number is above 1. I can't see how NS can lift the restrictions and yet she can't have the Euros with level 3 or god forbid level 4 restrictions ...can she??

shouldistop · 24/05/2021 17:22

@RaspberryCoulis yeah I'm not paying attention now but I've really enjoyed going to cafes etc. again.

WouldBeGood · 24/05/2021 17:22

Surely we now need to go by ICU numbers, not just cases?

OP posts:
shouldistop · 24/05/2021 17:24

Yeah, as soon as vaccinations started making a difference it should be by hospitalisations rather than cases.

I agree with you here. Things seem to have gone very quiet since the election, with nothing really said so far on the next planned easing of restrictions in a couple of weeks. HY has mentioned that, actually, Glasgow may not need to be in level 3 if hospitals aren't overwhelmed, but nothing further about how that's going to be actioned. And meanwhile, as expected, councils around Glasgow in tier 2 are overtaking them on the "cases per 100000" measure, with nothing being said about what could trigger them being tier 3'd, or not. So hospitality must be terrified that they may have to bin next week's beer/ cancel shifts etc at short notice. But of course, if they decide to close in preparation, it'd be their own fault they lost the custom.

As it stands, if Glasgow is kept in tier 3 the footie could go ahead (I think) but no one would be allowed to travel into Glasgow to watch it, or use their 6000 space arena. Which would be fun - and definitely would go down absolutely fine with any fans and not cause rioting or illegal incursions into the city or anything Hmm
