Just looked at house of gods hotel, it looks lovely. Sending it to DH Grin
DH and I usually go through to Edinburgh for a night in December for a show / dinner / Christmas markets / drinks etc. Baby ds will be turning 1 in December so I'm hoping he sleeps through reliably by then so we can leave him with MIL.

runningpink · 13/05/2021 07:10

Did Nicola mention anything on Tuesday about masks for Scotland at all?

WouldBeGood · 13/05/2021 08:14

I don’t think so @runningpink.

@shouldistop oh, I hope you do get away! Just assure MIL he sleeps through, and switch your phone off 😃

Don't be daft.
frasersmummy · 13/05/2021 09:08

Concern over rising case numbers in Glasgow..we are monitoring it very closely .

I am.guessing this is code for it will be "sticking with it for a few more weeks" while England returns to normality

And she better not be thinking tier 4.. I couldn't cope

riverrunning · 13/05/2021 09:10

You've hit on my summer plan wpuldbegood if Europe falls through - Sunday and Monday nights in hotels are the easiest nights to get generally. The lovely people at Clachaig inn told me that a few years back.

Did you see the Scottish tourist industry is saying the start has been very slow - sad for them, they've not had any decent weather to pick up short notice bookings.

WouldBeGood · 13/05/2021 09:17

Ah! It really is miles cheaper.

It’s a shame about Scottish tourism. I reckon people will be wanting better weather, or have had the shit scared out of them by the government.

I’m seriously pissed off with this wittering about Glasgow today and might cancel my Scottish bookings and go to England. I’d booked another couple of nights in Fife to follow Edinburgh - seeming pretty hopeless to be honest

@frasersmummy I mean the wittering of NS and the dentist, not you 😂

Anyway.. on the programme at the sanatorium today is a gentle stroll to the promenade. Sit on the benches and watch the world go by, and listen to the swish of the waves on the beach, whilst feeling the sun on our faces and the warm fresh air in our lungs.

In my mind I'm wearing a pair of sandals and a nice summer dress at this san! And not looking at yet more cardies!

Sounds perfect. In reality I've slept in, now got a headache, still in my dressing gown and house is a coup. It is a warm coup though so that's a positive 😁

So my day will be a gentle stroll to the kitchen for some paracetamol, then sitting on the sofa, looking at the grey sky and listening to the dog over the road bark it's head off.

WouldBeGood · 13/05/2021 10:28

Definitely no cardi @riverrunning.

I’m imaging myself in gorgeous floaty number in pale floral print, like twenties deshabille. Wholly unsuited to my massive boobed old self, but hey, I can dream.

@RedactedTaeFeck oh no! I’m knackered as old dog up a lot. So I’m hungry in that tired way? Going to venture out for a long walk to tire me and other dog out and distract from everything.

shouldistop · 13/05/2021 11:08

Can I imagine myself 2 stone lighter? Also can there be a nanny?

RedactedTaeFeck · 13/05/2021 11:13

Absolutely there can be a nanny and I'm taking my body from my late 20s, 5'10 and just over 9 stone. 😁

WouldBeGood · 13/05/2021 11:15

There will have to be many nannies to minimise stress and allow full recovery.. night and day nannies who will hand you your baby clean fresh and sunny of disposition.

And I envisage myself as willowy 😂

Lockdownbear · 13/05/2021 12:55

I'd love to be 2 stone lighter. I dream of the day.

I don't know why they didn't focus on getting all of Glasgow vaccinated in the first place. You just knew this would happen. Glasgow behind other places with the vaccine roll out and covid spikes again.

I deliberately avoided booking in Scotland for our main summer break. I couldn't cope if my hottub was cancelled.

They can't keep locking Scotland down. I might be a cynic but it wouldn't surprise me is it was the Scot Government that's made McVites decide to close their plant.

riverrunning · 13/05/2021 12:58

I did have the same thought - why haven't we done a bit more targeting of vaccines by hot spots area...

shouldistop · 13/05/2021 13:19

@riverrunning yeah, I thought the same thing a while back.

Dh got a spare vaccine the other day, family member works in nhs contact centre. He's told me there will probably be spares for me on Sunday. People often don't turn up for their weekend appointments. Dh has asthma so feel a bit justified in him skipping the queue but feel a bit guilty about me. Family member told me there's the possibility of spares going to waste so just take it.

Scottishskifun · 13/05/2021 13:27

@shouldistop both DH and myself were on the bin list as they are at the stage of doing Pfizer if they don't finish the vial because of the temp control required and how long it can be open for it literally goes in the bin if they don't call people to come get it!

Its not queue jumping just making sure there is no waste then when you're letter comes through you cancel the appointment so they don't have extra that day.

There were 25 of us there yesterday evening at 7.30pm all of which would have gone to waste if they don't call people.
They are through the front facing lists of teachers/police officers/firefighters etc already in most areas.

Lidlfix · 13/05/2021 14:27

"On the bin list" love it! Grin

riverrunning · 13/05/2021 14:40

Bin list seems efficient to me - being ahead is the reward for flexibility.

Lockdownbear · 13/05/2021 14:43

Absolutely take it, your not jumping the que you're saving waste.
It's something like the phizer vials have 6 doses in them so your saving a dose going down the sink.

That's the way the police and fire brigade have got their doses.

The more people vaccinated the better, your doing your bit, it help protect the little people who can't be vaccinated.

Groovee · 13/05/2021 15:02

My 12 weeks for my 2nd dose is up on the 27th but I phoned and they aren't doing me until the 2nd of June. Everyone else round me have appointments next week. So Mr G gets home from hospital and I'll be ill with side effects 🤬🤬 seriously tempted to not turn up.

WouldBeGood · 13/05/2021 15:48

Oh that’s pants @Groovee

Could you try ringing the helpline? To rearrange?

I don't know of any such lists, got lots of unvaccinated colleagues. I do agree it's a good idea and much better than wasting the stuff.
