My work colleagues said they can't wait for Monday to give me a much needed hug. I burst into tears this morning as I feel so anxious about Mr G, I'd not slept and I miss my dad. But we had a lovely day in nursery.

WouldBeGood · 11/05/2021 18:53

Oh, @Groovee have an awkward backpat from me and book you and Mr G into the sanitorium.

riverrunning · 11/05/2021 19:15

A sunny sanatorium would be just the thing. Surely most people are sick to the back teeth of politics right now, if you aren't you should probably go into politics for a job.

RedactedTaeFeck · 11/05/2021 20:34

I'm in for the sanatorium, cocktails and no political chat. I'm railing against the folk that could cause an argument in an empty room. Fuck em!

I'm not a hugger so nothing in that for me but I'm looking forward to a drink in a pub just for no reason at all (I'm not much of a drinker normally).

WouldBeGood · 11/05/2021 20:44

Pull up a bath chair, @RedactedTaeFeck and watch the sunset.

I hate hugging, so will be pretending to be a Covid maniac for the foreseeable 😃

That'll be the sleepwalking majority @RedactedTaeFeck

You and @WouldBeGood could rollerblade around with drinks trays, that'll save you from cuddling anyone.

WouldBeGood · 11/05/2021 20:52

@titsintiers that’s made me laugh - the picture in my head! 😂 I’m not a natural for that

Unfortunately I have the co-ordination of a giraffe with 3 legs so the drinks will be spilt and i'll have broken my wrists 10 minutes into my shift. I think i'll be better off in the bath chair as suggested by @wouldbegood, I can tuck my arms in and give my best hard stare to any potential huggers. Or maybe just have a cocktail in each hand...
Lockdownbear · 11/05/2021 23:21

Scottishskifun I hope you are better soon. How long have you had it?

My friend has struggled since last March very very slowly getting better. Still not fit to return to work.

HappyPumpkin81 · 12/05/2021 09:54

Can I book into the Scotsnet Sanatorium please, I'm really struggling with depression this week. I'm a single mum to a three year old, live in Moray, and have been stuck in a tiny house with a shrieking 3 year old for a week, as she is not allowed to leave home due to a case of Covid in her nursery. All tests have come back negative, and she is in full healthy stroppy toddler mode, I don't want to eat another plastic icecream, or play another game of doctors. I cannot even relax in the evenings because as soon as she goes to bed I start work until midnight, normally I would get my work done during the day while she's at nursery Sad Only 24 hours to go until I'm free, but no relaxation of restrictions for us. I can't say I feel seen, or supported by anyone. A week relaxing in the sanatorium while my daughter is cared for in the excellent adjoining creche sounds ideal.

WouldBeGood · 12/05/2021 10:04

Oh, god, @HappyPumpkin81 that sounds truly horrendous.

Pull up a chair.. I think a gentle float in a spa pool, gazing at the azure sky, before a delicious wholesome lunch and then afternoon snooze, then cocktails

Scottishskifun · 12/05/2021 10:40

@Lockdownbear week 7 from tomorrow I keep thinking I'm doing OK then hit another set back!

@happypumpkin81 oh I feel for we had 3 isolation periods (last one DS was positive) if you have Disney plus channel Winnie the Pooh saved our sanity!

Lockdownbear · 12/05/2021 11:27

@Scottishskifun fingers crossed that you recover soon. Must be horrendous not knowing when things will improve.

Coming over here to check in too, I’ve worn myself out trying to keep up with the debates elsewhere. Same old discussions getting nowhere. I’m done with that. Would much prefer a cocktail and a float. Could almost float in the garden today there’s been so much rain. Can I rail about how it’s normally so nice in May, what’s happened? Or shall I keep my voice down, people are just trying to relax here, float and ward off unsolicited hugs (I don’t need/want hugs either!).

RedactedTaeFeck · 12/05/2021 14:30

Come join the relaxing, I'd like to pretend I was lying somewhere warm but I currently have no heating. Engineer came yesterday but needs a part so hopefully back later, no heating since Sunday and house is feeling cold.

Railing or floating, it’s all welcome here @Bytheloch.

The weather is truly appalling, I’m sitting having some soup to warm up after getting drenched on a dog walk and then losing my phone somewhere on my car...now recovered

@RedactedTaeFeck oh no! It’s far too cold for no heating. Hope you get it sorted asap.

Dunno why two posts, sorry

Website is a bit glitchy today.

It wasn't too bad yesterday as it was a bit milder, Monday was cold. We found an immersion switch so we've had hot water but no heat. Sun seems to be breaking through so might have to go sit at the back of the house where its warmer, or it might be warmer outside instead!

Cat is hating the lack of heat but she has a fur coat so can just get on with it.

He said he'd be back about 4ish unless he had a gap. Was only serviced 2 weeks ago. They said then that they can no longer get parts and basically want us to get a new boiler. Funnily enough, the new part we need is available so hopefully get a few more years out of it.
