I've still got the app, but it's never pinged so I forget it's there.

Although my boss' wife has just been for a Covid test so that's a wee reminder for me.

shouldistop · 20/04/2021 12:47

Why do scotgov and the press keep claiming level 0 is normality?

latissimusdorsi · 20/04/2021 12:54

We've lost the standardisation from the "exams". Schools all doing it differently. Going to lead to complaints of unfairness.
I've also got one stressing about maths, hasn't coped well with it being taught online.

It's not just the school kids. There's all the college and Uni students who haven't been properly taught practical skills they need for future careers.
I know everyones made the most of a bad situation but all education this last year been really badly affected but the Gov/SQA pretending it's all fineAngry

@shouldistop

Why do scotgov and the press keep claiming level 0 is normality?
No idea! I think they will have adjusted their documents by then they are going to need to as they currently still say level 0 = 0 test positivity rate and 0/100,000.......

Much like our own William Wallace once cried Grin
shouldistop · 20/04/2021 13:09

Do they think if they call it normality enough then they'll brainwash us?

user1487194234 · 20/04/2021 13:23

There seems to be no scientific justification, based on their own previous figures for levels, for the progress through the levels to be so slow

Why do we not have a provisional end date( as England do)

In the absence of any evidence why has the hospitality trade been treated so badly

So fucked off now

emmathedilemma · 20/04/2021 13:26

such is the irony @BettysCardigan ;)

emmathedilemma · 20/04/2021 13:27

I think there was mention a while ago that the previous figures for levels were being made higher for the same level of restrictions this time round @user1487194234 so basically cases for level 4 would now be level 3, cases for level 3 would now be 2.....etc. But cases are so low now that we're back to where we were in September before the levels came in.

user1487194234 · 20/04/2021 13:32

I know ,its ridiculous

Why can't they tell us the truth about when we can get back to normal, not necessarily a date, but what the numbers have to be

I am so worried that they won't let us get back to normal until we reach the mythical Zero Covid i.e never and they don't want to tell us that before the election

WouldBeGood · 20/04/2021 13:50

She’s also now decreed that everyone in a group must give their details for track and trace in hospitality venues.

She really is determined to make it a crap experience.

OP posts:
DeepfriedPizza · 20/04/2021 14:04

It is already a crap experience with not being able to spontaneously pop to a cafe as everything will have to be booked in advance. Then once you get there you have to spend 10 mins giving all your details.

At least we will be able to get the wains back swimming. DD's dancing is starting back next week too so that's positive.

WouldBeGood · 20/04/2021 14:07

Do you have to pre book too?

This is all so shite.

I do not understand it. It’s worse than last year, yet we have very effective vaccines. Despite what the doom merchants say.

Ffs, woman, let us have some normality.

DeepfriedPizza · 20/04/2021 14:11

A lot of the places where we are are advertising on FB to book tables, even cafes. We have very few beer gardens and they started taking bookings last week and some are full for all weekends in April/May already

WouldBeGood · 20/04/2021 14:12

Gosh, @DeepfriedPizza it’s rubbish. I want spontaneous fun.

Hey ho. Dinner parties it is. Like the 70s.

titsintiers · 20/04/2021 14:14

Whereabouts are you @DeepfriedPizza? There are some places in Glasgow city centre operating on a first come, first served basis if that helps?

DeepfriedPizza · 20/04/2021 14:18

Renfrewshire. First come first served will lead to queues in the pishing rain. I've booked a couple of restaurants which is fine but I am sure a lot of people want a mooch about the shops then a wee lunch wherever takes their fancy at the time.

titsintiers · 20/04/2021 14:24

It's bollocks isn't it. Taking the spontaneity out of life.

runningpink · 20/04/2021 15:14

I really really want a cold pint of cider. But I ain’t going to a pub due to track and trace so guess I’ll be waiting a while!

WouldBeGood · 20/04/2021 15:15

This has led to my biting the bullet and ordering a tent 😱 And a SIM. At least I will know in advance my trips will be shit, but cheap, and no bloody masks/track and trace/pre booking.

I might become an outdoorsy guru for people who hate the great outdoors.

If any of you know a place for drinks in Glasgow city centre not taking bookings can you pm me? My friend has just announced she's coming a week on Saturday and thinks we can find somewhere 🙈
