I'm a bit confused @WaxOnFeckOff am I taking to you or @RedactedTaeFeck ?

Bit of sock puppeting going on here maybe?

No sock puppeting, it seems to vary in which username it uses, I thought it depends on when I use the app or the website but not exactly sure. I've pointed this out myself previously.

I've also not pretended to talk to myself or about myself in the 3rd party so it doesn't fit the definition of sock puppetry anyway, just seems to be a quirk of the system.

I've never intended to deceive anyone, I posted when I changed my name to let folks on the threads know who I was, appreciate you may have missed that.

forfucksakenett · 27/04/2021 00:05

It actually does fit the definition of sock puppeting because it appears that two people are arguing a point when in fact it is just the one.

RedactedTaeFeck · 27/04/2021 00:32

No it's not as there is no intention to deceive or manipulate or hide an identity. I don't change anything, it's just what comes up.

forfucksakenett · 27/04/2021 06:21

It doesn't matter what you intend. If you are posting similar opinions under two different usernames on the same thread then it's deceptive.

forfucksakenett · 27/04/2021 06:22

MN changes your username for you? Weird.

WouldBeGood · 27/04/2021 06:36

I can say that MN can change your user name back to what must be default setting sometimes. That’s why people get mixed up sometimes if they’ve name changed for a sensitive thread.

CirclesWithinCircles · 27/04/2021 08:04

I see there's an article in the P&J today accusing the Scottish Government of sex discrimination over restart grants. A woman who runs 2 beauty salon businesses has pointed out that, unlike in England, these predominately female led businesses have only been given a flat rate of £6000 by the Scottish Government, instead of one of the three levels of funding available in England which depend on the size of the business.

She also points out that the Scottish government have been granted £600 million by Westminster for this purpose and wonders why there's less funding available for Scottish businesses from the Scottish government. She points out that she receives £2000 less than the lowest level of English funding, and up to £18000 less than larger English businesses.

Certain name changes on Scotsnet are very obvious by their writing style, their arguments and which other posters they attack.

I completely agree.
WouldBeGood · 27/04/2021 08:24

I agree with that too.

CirclesWithinCircles · 27/04/2021 08:40

Name changes is it now? I held up my hands many posts back that I changed from GreenlandTheMovie to my current name. Because I was fed up being called a film that's been out for months now, although it was a great film.

Is there nothing sone posters won't bitch about? You've wasted pages on sniping about name changes but you have nothing to say about the lower business restart funding being handed out in Scotland to businesses run predominately by women?

This is pathetic. Again, I'm wondering if the intention is actually to drive voters away from the SNP. Or is it that you just can't help yourselves because you don't know any better?

formerly GreenlandTheMovie.

😂 Yep!

I think it's managed to be adjusted for a day or two then it's pretty obvious! 😂

Don't judge others by your own standards. Confusing maybe but not deceptive.

Deception implies that there is intention and there is no intention, I don't even notice which name it uses.

Do you honestly think that I go into settings somewhere and alter my name every time I post? Who has time for that?

And yes, writing style etc is pretty obvious.

I don't want to cause any unintended confusion though so I'll see what mn can do or see if I can resolve by changing name back.

I don't have anything to hide.

Also, you seem to think that someone swearing means they've lost their temper, and yet your username is swearing?

Scottishskifun · 27/04/2021 08:48

@CirclesWithinCircles Personally I think there should be a full enquiry into scottish govt spending on the pandemic. The NHS money should also be examined alongside business loans.

Unfortunately though they aren't going to do this in the eye of the storm as it were.

WouldBeGood · 27/04/2021 08:49

That’s interesting about the business funding. I had heard that the funds allocated by WM for this purpose hadn’t been passed on, at least as yet, which is not good. Interesting that it’s women who are feeling the brunt of it once again.

forfucksakenett · 27/04/2021 08:50

If a person is deceived then surely it is deceptive. It may not have been your intention but that doesn't change the fact that many posters will have assumed your posts are two different people because they are two different names.

I have no idea why you are posting under two names and have no clue as to how you manage it.

Scottishskifun · 27/04/2021 08:55

@forfucksakenett want to get back to the topic thread now you've finished on your soap box?! 😉

WouldBeGood · 27/04/2021 08:56

Can’t believe the arguing about name changes whilst the SNP government continues to try to destroy the country and the very existence of women.

CirclesWithinCircles · 27/04/2021 09:00

I have to admit that obsessing about particular usenames, memorising them and then recalling them with vitriol is not a great passion of mine.

I honestly can't recall whether your'e the poster who thinks they know better than the Advocate-General of the European Court of justice, but perhaps the problem is that SNP supporters are so grandiose that they think they know the law better than judges, and therefore should be able to rude over it when it suits?

Will we ever find out if the SG has influence in decisions to prosecute in Scotland? Surely there should be a public enquiry at the very least?

I don't agree that that's the case.

Not me.

Hmmm I'm not sure questioning who I'm talking to is derailing then thread. Even if it is, it takes more than one person to keep a conversation going so its funny you single me out.

Scottishskifun · 27/04/2021 09:16

ignoring derail attempt

I watched the campaign last night which was very interesting on the proposed spending in manifesto versus reality....

SNP and Conservative spending on the NHS promises alone cannot be afforded for the next term without tax rise or a squeeze in other areas as confirmed by the financial review (I think they said the IFL)

Labour's would also be difficult but Labour has set out 2 years on focused recovery spending.

So basically none of the "promises" could be affordable!

WouldBeGood · 27/04/2021 09:27

With regard to the SG and the law, another concern is that as they have failed to invest in funding legal aid properly the criminal justice system is in crisis. There are no young lawyers entering criminal defence work. Huge concern from all the Bar Associations.
