Scottish government are passing a bill tonight that will give hate crime protection to every protected characteristic - apart from sex. Yes, women apparently don't register as far as hate crimes go.

But cross dressers will be protected so that's fine - don't insult a man in a kilt even in your own home, as you could be arrested. However, every day misogyny - that's fine.

Those organisations also opposed Johann Lamont’s amendment 28 to the Forensic Medical Services (Victims of Sexual Offences) (Scotland) Bill, which ensured that rape victims were able to choose the sex, not just the gender, of their medical examiner. Make no mistake—such positions are as ideological as they are absurd and they have nothing to do with protecting women. I am therefore proud to support Johann Lamont’s amendments today.

Hate crime bill passed just a police find body possibly of young woman who disappeared on her way home. Nothing further to see on women's rights presumably. Gaaah.

So, looking at the voting on the amendment - all SNP with the exception of Joan McAlpine, all greens with the exception of Andy wightman and all the lib dems voted No. All the tories, all labour, those names above and Mark McDonald voted for it.

I think we can see where all women should be voting.

Well that’s true of course but it tells you that effectively a biological woman has, if assessed as such by another person, a lesser status in law than a person who assumes the status of “woman”.

I don’t know if you can call that a form of institutional misogyny? It would not be correct by a domestic violence bill either IMO
