SNP supporters and the hate crime bill

Scottish government are passing a bill tonight that will give hate crime protection to every protected characteristic - apart from sex. Yes, women apparently don't register as far as hate crimes go.

But cross dressers will be protected so that's fine - don't insult a man in a kilt even in your own home, as you could be arrested. However, every day misogyny - that's fine.

SNP supporters - are you ok with this????

FWS doing a fantastic job there keeping the pressure on
I bloody hope Kennedy actually listens to Johann Lamont

FWS are amazing. I don't know how they keep the energy up!

In a few years time, what Scotland is doing to women right now is going to look incredibly bigotted and old fashioned. It is astonishing in the year 2021 in western Europe that, not only do we have something like the hate crime bill going through, women are the only protected category left out of it.

Scottish Government missing the mood of the moment as usual. How can they possibly think this is justifiable? The entire Scottish legislature is leaving itself open to accusations that it is biased against women and discriminatory.

Extraordinary. It looks like there’s a push on to oust Joanna Cherry and Joan McAlpine from the SNP before the election! twitter.com/Scotpol1314/status/1372905164559036429?s=20

Wow that really gives credence to the idea that free speech about women’s rights won’t be framed as hate speech doesn’t it? Hmm
