The tone stays low and the railing goes on

@Coquohvan

Well I broke the rules today and I don’t give a rats a@@. DD was held up at work asked if I’d go and pick up DGD. I did and I gave her the biggest hugs and kisses in front of everyone at the school. Not saw any GC since Xmas day. It was blooming amazing.
Love this. Couldn't tell you last time I cuddled someone out with my household.
Nipoleonthenoncommital · 10/03/2021 19:29

@GirlLovesWorld

I want to be a Quaker so I can sit in contemplative silence for an hour once a week.
This is why I thought about going to mass again!

@Peppafrig do what you have to do.

After all noone will be giving us a medal for self sacrifice at the end of this.

Oh can I join in?
Whilst I’m happy at school going back for secondary it seems like a huge lot of work for 3 weeks. I’ve got one in on a Monday only, one in on a Friday only (she’s S4) and one in on a Thurs/Fri (she’s S5) I’m thinking what’s the point for 3 days before Easter hols? 10-12 to a class, not usual timetable or teachers. It’ll be good for them to actually get out the house and see their friends I suppose.

They are probably waiting to see what effect it has on the numbers after the Easter holidays, so open schools for 3 weeks, 2 weeks Easter then schools back.

So many people are now saying there’s no way they are staying at home/local at Easter and I don’t blame them having gone nowhere since before Christmas.

Awwww! Love this! That must have felt so good.

I agree with this, totally. When there was the whole Christmas shenanigans of "well, you can meet, but you really really shouldn't and don't share spoons, and actually, we're going to make it so you're not allowed to stay overnight so you can only meet if you live close anyway..." we decided not to, and said we'd do easter instead. So that was a good plan! And this was having not been allowed to go inside anyone else's house since September. It's just too long to put such restrictions on people really, over the grimmest half of the year.

This made me feel warm and fuzzy. I miss hugs
OldRailer · 10/03/2021 20:00

I have to say I'm happier outdoors until I have both doses of vaccine.

PoloMintPatty · 10/03/2021 20:01

If only the weather would play ball then outside is fine with me. I'm uncomfortable asking my parents to meet us outside when it's so absolutely miserable.

OldRailer · 10/03/2021 20:07

I'm looking forward to better weather!

@Coquohvan lovely ☺️

I’m happier indoors and don’t care about vaccine. I’m over 50 and a bit fat, but statistically ok and I need to live now, not exist.

God yes. The highlight of our week is the wager DH and I have as to how long it will take the bins to blow over in the gale that invariably happens on bin night (tonight, of course).
IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 10/03/2021 20:11

@Coquohvan that's lovely :)

My most strict rule following friend text to say she's had enough today and she does have a baby under 1 so going to pop there tomorrow. Still plenty of moaning left in me right enough 😂 got a lovely shiny new car yesterday. First proper drive today only it was pissing down and it has those cris cross wipers so it scared the shite out of me and I stalled it! Not happy

WouldBeGood · 10/03/2021 20:17

My very elderly relative died tonight of cancer not diagnosed until very advanced “cos Covid”.

It meant I wasn’t able to see him beforehand, hadn’t seen him for over a year, and he’d spent that year shut up avoiding Covid. How is this right?

OldRailer · 10/03/2021 20:17

I'm happier if I spend time outdoors tbh. My railing is usually against not being able to leave our area.

shouldistop · 10/03/2021 20:18

@WouldBeGood I'm so sorry Thanks That's very unfair.

OldRailer · 10/03/2021 20:18

I'm so sorry. That's awful.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 10/03/2021 20:19

@WouldBeGood so sorry to hear that.

@WouldBeGood I’m so sorry Flowers we had a similar experience with FIL who died in December and the feeling of unfairness is overwhelming sometimes. Rail away, it helps Flowers
WouldBeGood · 10/03/2021 20:23

Thanks all. He was very old, but it’s made me reflect even more on what on earth we are doing. Along with my work in mental health.

@OldRailer even people who like the great outdoors are welcome here 😊

DH who is younger than me with no health issues (late 30s) has been invited for his jag before me (early 40s with disabilities and apparently vulnerable)

I'm raging!

We are with different GPs and practices though.

WouldBeGood · 10/03/2021 20:25

@jabbathebutt that’s rubbish!
