The tone stays low and the railing goes on

We already have tighter restrictions on alcohol than the rUK so it really wouldn't surprise me

Icannever · 16/03/2021 19:59

@IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 yep me too. Initially I was like if it’s very exciting but as another poster said (in the other thread) once you look at the small print and what’s not included it feels a bit pants.
@shouldistop I had that thought too, you’ll need to pop outside for a quick drink from now on just like the smokers 😂

WouldBeGood · 16/03/2021 20:04

@cyclingbear

I want my life how it was before and this is the realisation that it won’t ever be even with the plans they have outlined today and that makes me so sad
Me too

Looks like who ever predicted we would get to thread 10 of this could have been right!

Yes to that I want my normal life back. I don't want to hear about daily briefings etc. I have a question without being to political. This roadmap goes beyond the election ... what would happen if they didn't win would it all go to shit?

WouldBeGood · 16/03/2021 20:10

Christ I hope so @IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021! I’ll vote for anyone who will scrap it

Can't think they've had good news on alcoholism - perhaps it's harder to measure with people drinking at home? Perhaps they've had less public disorder to police?

Drinking outside banned in a lot of US states permanently!

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/03/2021 20:14

@WouldBeGood obv they have been in power so long that I don't even think it has crossed their mind that they might not make it back. I don't see the tories getting a stonghold here but maybe labour? Probably wishful thinking on my part but the 17th is a big date for restrictions so would be interesting to see how that would go with a change in government

Joul · 16/03/2021 20:58

I'm feeling glum at another 6 weeks of lockdown. I want to go somewhere fun during the Easter holidays. Petulant I know.

Has anyone seen a side by side comparison of England and Scotland easing plan?

anon444877 · 16/03/2021 21:42

I know, another dreadful month and Easter holidays to trudge through yet, and no chance of an Easter egg hunt at the grandparents. Still, at least the end of all these restrictions has started, let's hope.

Icannever · 16/03/2021 22:18

Yep I feel like the kids need something fun to do in the holidays for once. This is the fifth crappy school holiday
At this rate it will be a daily walk and more roblox. Joy of joys

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/03/2021 23:57

Yeah feeling fairly glum here too. We're still months from a normal gathering with friends, months from a birthday party or our much delayed housewarming. I just want some normality. I want to take my eldest for a wander round the shops then out for lunch. I want to introduce my tot to softplay, take her to the zoo for the first time...

I'm done with this!

littlbrowndog · 17/03/2021 07:31

I don’t understand why we can’t book our vaccinations online

In England now the over 50s can book both vaccinations online

Control, control. You can't do it for yourself. The government do it for you.
icanboogieboogiewoogie · 17/03/2021 08:40

I'd have thought a lot of the issue would be that a lot of people in priority groups may not be able to book appointments online. My dad or my PIL certainly couldn't, and I'd imagine plenty of people are in the same position.

I also agree with a pp, who suggested that perhaps getting people to book their own would cause procrastination, particularly as it gets down the groups, whereas a time and place means you will just go.

WouldBeGood · 17/03/2021 08:48

I think that people in their sixties downwards would be well able to book their own and all have smartphones or internet access

OP posts:
shouldistop · 17/03/2021 08:50

My perception is maybe off because of the job I do (charity helping people claim benefits) but I meet a lot of people who can't fill out online forms, can't use the internet, don't have access etc. We're only small and we've helped literally thousands of people across Glasgow who if told to book a vaccination appointment online wouldn't do it / wouldn't be able to do it

littlbrowndog · 17/03/2021 09:04

I think nhs are trying to get more people to book jabs and opening up to the over 50s and others in different groups

From nhs below

Book now if you're eligible

You do not need to wait to be contacted if any of the following apply:

you are aged 50 or over
you are at high risk from coronavirus (clinically extremely vulnerable)
you are an eligible frontline health or social care worker
you have a condition that puts you at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)
you have a learning disability
you are a main carer for someone at high risk from coronavirus
You can book appointments at a larger vaccination centre or a pharmacy that provides COVID-19 vaccinations.

littlbrowndog · 17/03/2021 09:04

But yesshouldistop

I see your point as well

WouldBeGood · 17/03/2021 09:04

Maybe. But it seems to be working in England.

Will people who are struggling open their mail or attend when told to? It’s tricky.

I’m eagerly awaiting my blue envelope. Crabbit as fuck today. Months more of this pish and the puritanical crap about pubs and drink again. It’s truly Groundhog Day

@littlbrowndog is that NHS Scotland??

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 17/03/2021 09:07

I can see that service for NI but can’t find it for here

OP posts:
littlbrowndog · 17/03/2021 09:09

No that is England

littlbrowndog · 17/03/2021 09:11

Sorry wouldbegood

I could imagine you running to book. But I don’t know if you are that age group 🤦‍♀️

littlbrowndog · 17/03/2021 09:16

Unpaid carers can now register for the vaccine in Scotland. That is great news. Covers people from 16-64
