Just came to post on this. There's some pretty explosive allegations on how long this is been an issue & who has covered it up. If true, I can see this becoming a huge, huge issue (for more than one reason).

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/03/2021 23:43

Do we have a link to anything? sounds shocking.

ATieLikeRichardGere · 09/03/2021 23:52

So this is what the Daily Record was referring to?

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/03/2021 00:00

Herald story

archive.is/2Twrm

Twitter has a name for the female too as well as Grady

Graffitiqueen · 10/03/2021 00:03

Folk on Twitter saying the female has been given time to explain to her husband.

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/03/2021 00:03

Thanks both.

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/03/2021 00:11

Twitter goss ( possibly complete bollocks) is also naming someone else who apparently handled the original complaint and is now a candidate.

Whole thing may be balls, who knows. But the SNP isn't looking so clean these days

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/03/2021 08:30

I think the committee have asked Salmond's lawyers to release some information. Presumably this is the stuff that AS couldn't use as scotgov were refusing to release it?

LexMitior · 10/03/2021 08:42

Oh now that’s super interesting! It could mean that they have decided that the Lord Advocate is wrong as are the Crown Office! This is not going away...

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/03/2021 08:52

I bet NS and scotgov are loving all the Harry and Megan stuff that is drawing attention away.

daisyfraser · 10/03/2021 09:11

There go Angus Robertson's chances of taking Ruth Davidson's old seat in Central Edinburgh.
Since he ignored a sex pest while in charge of Westminster's SNP MPs.

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/03/2021 09:19

Was Angus Robertson implicated? I thought it was Patrick Grady another female mp and it was Blackford who dealt or didn't deal with it?

daisyfraser · 10/03/2021 09:25

If it is the woman named on Twitter (a woman I guarantee you will never have heard of), then her husband - an SNP MSP (of course) will have a light shone on him too as apparently an 'urgent call' went out in October to try and find a replacement candidate for him in time for May 6.

This was after not one but a string of controversies over EIGHTEEN YEARS inc. aggressive behaviour (esp towards women), employing family members (wife) and failing to register financial interests.
The SNP, eh?

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/03/2021 09:36

The Herald story has the first incident as 2016 which would have been while Robertson was commons leader for SNP so that's why his name is in the frame, but it's not entirely clear to me if the 2016 issue was reported then. There's mention of a 2017 report but no date so hard to tell.

There's also another MSP candidate who is being implicated in a similar way i.e. they may have been involved in not addressing it.

So we have

  • the male mp
  • the female mp
  • Blackford for mishandling
  • Robertson for maybe mishandling
  • another msp candidate for maybe mishandling
  • and possibly the female MPs husband who is an MSP caught up in something similar

Have I got everyone Blush

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/03/2021 09:44

"Have I got everyone"

Who can tell? More murk bubbling up through the drains on a daily basis.

Nipoleonthenoncommital · 10/03/2021 09:48

Was Robertson the one who had to resign due to having an affair?

Christ almighty this is harder to follow than game of thrones.

WouldBeGood · 10/03/2021 09:48

I actually really dislike the nepotism too

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/03/2021 09:51

Graham Campbell (think that's right, the lothian list guy) referred to it as horizontal recruitment

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/03/2021 09:55

I used to think, regardless of which party, that MPs and MSPs needed brains and a bit of gravitas. If I'd realised it was a job that you could just get any random relative to do then I might have gone for it and enjoyed a much higher salary than I'm on.

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/03/2021 09:57

I've just seen a tweet saying "I've known Patrick Harvey since he was 16...."

LexMitior · 10/03/2021 10:02

They look very grubby. And perversely, independently so. These behaviours are not accidents but deliberately so.

The incident with Blackford and a weeping MP on the sofa with this young man confronted is the least of it but really, would you want to be a young person involved with these people? It is just good old pervy stuff, with a woke veneer.

Graffitiqueen · 10/03/2021 10:08

@Nipoleonthenoncommital

Was Robertson the one who had to resign due to having an affair?

Christ almighty this is harder to follow than game of thrones.

Angus McNeil and Stewart Hosie had an affair with the same person if that's what you're thinking of?

McNeil also cheated on his pregnant wife with two teenage girls. Lovely chap.

Beepbeeprichie · 10/03/2021 10:10

I read someone say that Tories used to have sex scandals, Labour used to have financial scandals and the SNP have managed both.

Just gets murkier and murkier. I see he’s resigned- as whip. Still collecting his salary, pension, benefits......
