Daft question but as of Friday, is it 4 people allowed to meet outside, like a bigger bubble, or as long as the total number is 4 we can meet others?

Lorelaithe1st · 09/03/2021 14:41

Are we allowed to travel out of local authority area to meet outdoors with other households? We’re over 100 miles away from family and friends and desperate to see them!

Scottishskifun · 09/03/2021 14:42

Summary from Friday
up to 4 people outside from 2 households also for socialisation and including garden

12-17 year olds up to 4 from 4 households outside

Organised outdoor sports up to 15

Travel restriction for childrens organised sport lifted

Placed of worship up to 50 if social distancing allows for communual worship (prob won't change weddings or funerals) from 26th March

fluffyugg · 09/03/2021 14:43

@Lorelaithe1st I was wondering that as my parents are in the next local authority (only 15miles away). I would have thought it needs to be people within an authority?

Scottishskifun · 09/03/2021 14:44

Still a big fat no I'm afraid
ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 09/03/2021 14:44

Quite a few significant religious events coming up soon though.

LizzieMacQueen · 09/03/2021 14:44

@Justmuddlingalong It is 4 from a max of 2 households. U17s ( might be 17 and under actually ) can be up to 4 from up to 4 households.

I don't think you're allowed out of your area for social purposes but are for regulated sports.

GirlLovesWorld · 09/03/2021 14:45

@rookiemere

BBC usually has a good summary *@runningpink* . Public worship to be allowed from 26th March. I mean I know I'm a egregious atheist but really should religious services be a priority?
I was thinking that too but then thought, well, congregations tend to be made up of mostly people in the older age groups who are vaccinated so why not?

Not sure if it includes funerals or weddings though. Maybe not as they wouldn't be allowed that many guests in a hospitality setting afterwards.

Lorelaithe1st · 09/03/2021 14:47
Sad
Scottishskifun · 09/03/2021 14:47

Plus side I'm finally allowed that drink of wine and fire pit in the garden with my pal..... Downside it's due to pee it down great.....

Off to hunt for a sail cover!

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 09/03/2021 14:47

Frustrated there's no change re travel limits - no family within the limits. Sigh. Maybe I need to take up 5-a-side football I'd chew my own leg off before getting involved in football
I'm clinging to the hope that if the positive trend continues, that will be lifted sooner than originally suggested.

It's good news for teens, although plenty of them are already meeting up in groups of more than 4 anyway.

Justmuddlingalong · 09/03/2021 14:49

Thanks, @LizzieMacQueen. What I mean is can DP and I visit DS1 and DIL in the morning, and then visit DS2 and DIL in the afternoon? Or do we have to pick 2 people and stick to them until restrictions are loosened again?

runningpink · 09/03/2021 14:50

Thanks folks.
I didn’t want garden visits yet due to purely selfish reasons
I appreciate that it’s actually a good thing overall though for most people

GirlLovesWorld · 09/03/2021 14:50

Nah that's contact sport @ICouldHaveCheckedFirst so don't bother Grin

GirlLovesWorld · 09/03/2021 14:51

I don't think it's a 'bubble' thing @Justmuddlingalong

WouldBeGood · 09/03/2021 14:51

Garden visits are shite in Scotland in March

dancemom · 09/03/2021 14:53

@Justmuddlingalong not a bubble, you can meet others as before and still just 2 households but can be different households each time

dancemom · 09/03/2021 14:53

@Lorelaithe1st travel restrictions still apply with flexibility for children's organised activities only

So if DH organises to meet 4 friends for a hike is that organised group exercise and now allowed?

Scottishskifun · 09/03/2021 14:57

@anon444877

Yes if they have a designated covid officer who has done the free online training and have a risk assessment in place, a start time and finish time - the sports guidance will help 😉

Oh and as long as the hike is in your LA and all of the people are from there.

dancemom · 09/03/2021 14:57

It says organised group exercise so I guess it depends on your interpretation of this unless further clarification is issued

It already exists under the sports section of SG and then the affiliated body also has information.

Crucially it doesn't have to be a paid for activity just properly organised with a designated covid officer, risk assessment, start and finish time and within LA.

So it's things like a cycle club, wild swimming, hiking etc and max 15.

anon444877 · 09/03/2021 15:03

hmm they can meet those criteria scottishskifun - wonder if we'll see a mushrooming of outdoor exercise groups.

OldRailer · 09/03/2021 15:04

Outdoor exercise makes sense.

Lockdownbear · 09/03/2021 15:06

Are the dry ski centres getting to open yet?
