As the conversation is interesting and the thread is nearly full. Does it matter if Sturgeon is guilty - do you know or care? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/scotsnet/4153007-Does-it-matter-if-Sturgeon-is-guilty-do-you-know-or-care

What I find fairly chilling is her laughing and the way she spoke to Jackie baillie

And almost like how dare anyone question me

littlbrowndog · 03/03/2021 11:24

Why is the justice minister doing a live commentary on Twitter

Salmond v Sturgeon Round 2.
TheShadowyFeminist · 03/03/2021 11:24

She's so far fudged on a serious breach of confidentiality & data leaks (the senior official & DR leak).

Wonder what she'll say about the allegation of obstruction of justice in the document released to the committee (eventually) which confirmed contact of the deciding officer with complainants, not previously released for JR or the criminal case.

TheShadowyFeminist · 03/03/2021 11:26

"Why is the justice minister doing a live commentary on Twitter"

I suspect sturgeon demands loyalty & this is the expectation of visual compliance. Given his somewhat skewed interpretation of events so far, he seems to have an issue with interpretation. Not a great attribute for a Justice Minister IMO.

Isn’t she right on that- that she hopes to persuade her supporters on the committee and beyond that she’s still the real deal? I mean she has to make sure her SNP colleagues will rate her.

That’s what this performance is about: not explaining but talking to the SNP to say “I’m still the best ticket”.

She said right at the beginning that the released documents are basically of no consequence which is why they were never released...

Do we think somebody should be on new thread duty? I know we have ten pages left, but I'm just thinking how quickly we're getting through this one!

When you consider how quickly Catherine Calderwood stood down, for checking on a second property (where I think the rest of her family might have been?), this is far more serious.

I hope he has taken a day's annual holiday for that? It's not what he is getting paid for by the tax payer.
TheShadowyFeminist · 03/03/2021 11:28

Think that's you volunteering polka 😁

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 03/03/2021 11:29

The social media stuff pisses me off. She's had Blackford singing her praises this morning as well.

WaxOnFeckOff · 03/03/2021 11:29

Can anyone on twitter ask humza if he's on holiday or is this part of his job?

derxa · 03/03/2021 11:30

When do we get to the 'Did you issue a code red' moment a la A Few Good Men?

Bytheloch · 03/03/2021 11:31

Blackford’s post on Twitter is baulk-inducing, he goes on to default to his usual wanging on about independence. He is an arse of the highest order for many reasons.

littlbrowndog · 03/03/2021 11:36

But yousaf is ttweeting against members of the committee asking questions

Is he completely mad

daisyfraser · 03/03/2021 11:36

IN fact every response to his tweets is asking exactly this question.

you know you're the justice secretary, right, and that you're providing live commentary on evidence being given under oath?

daisyfraser · 03/03/2021 11:37

Also 'Jackie Baillie is not on trial here'

VG

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 03/03/2021 11:37

Is that not some sort of breach by Humza?

littlbrowndog · 03/03/2021 11:39

I find it incredible that he is doing this

Slagging off committee members by the justice secretary

Bytheloch · 03/03/2021 11:41

Plenty of folk calling him out, example:
Is it really the best use of government resources to second the Justice Secretary for the purposes of live tweeting a Committee session that is literally being broadcast live? Or in other words - don't you have a job?

dancemom · 03/03/2021 11:41

Incredibly inappropriate

TheShadowyFeminist · 03/03/2021 11:42

"When do we get to the 'Did you issue a code red' moment a la A Few Good Men?"

I'm guessing this'll be the last 10 mins as Jackie Bailey dumps the shackles & hits her with the killer Q.

Maybe if Scotland wasn't the sort of country where the Justice Secretary spends all day tweeting about the politics of evidence given under oath to a parliamentary inquiry, we might not be where we are today.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 03/03/2021 11:43

Let me be very clear. I can’t remember anything.

Amortentia · 03/03/2021 11:43

@IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021

Is that not some sort of breach by Humza?
No. There is a problem with the rules around these committees. The members of the committee have been freely tweeting throughout this process in a prejudice way that would be unacceptable in any other legal process.
boobashka · 03/03/2021 11:44

^ This

She doesn't care about convincing the committee or the wider public, just her supporters.
