No, they all love the SNP round my way.

Sootess · 23/02/2021 15:14

Was there actually any detail on the exam years going back to school?
Or just fleeting mention about more of them going back 15th March?

Chrysanthemum5 · 23/02/2021 15:17

I could cry as well. DD is in S2 but is autistic, and she just can't work at home. School have offered her a place but she's so anxious about being different that she won't go back until everyone is back. So, every day she feels worse about herself as she falls behind in her work, and she won't even talk to me about it.

Plus I've been working at home for a year now (like most of us) and I'm sick of it.

I mustn't post any more or I really will just cry

OldRailer · 23/02/2021 15:21

@Chrysanthemum5 Flowers
It's so awful for too many of our kids and their parents.

reprehensibleme · 23/02/2021 15:23

We're in an area which has had consistently tiny levels of infection. The tiers didn't work last year - we were in tier one and inundated with people from tier three and four areas visiting pubs, restaurants, hotels.

Really starting to wonder why anyone is bothering to get vaccine because it doesn't look as if it's going to make any difference to our lives Hmm.

shouldistop · 23/02/2021 15:24

I tell you what, I'll be paying no heed to the travel rule / law this time round.

TartanTed · 23/02/2021 15:31

What a disgrace.
I didn't think I could despise her more.... but I do.
Surely many people are just going to look the remarkably low rates in their area and the ever increasing vaccination rates and travel/ visit each other indoors.

I feel so sorry for the secondary kids though and the businesses struggling to keep their heads above water.

I really really hope the SNP get a nasty shock at the polls in May.

MintPI · 23/02/2021 15:33

I really didn't think I could loathe a British politician more than Boris (too young to have been scared by thatcher)

DeepfriedPizza · 23/02/2021 15:33

@DeepfriedPizza I thought the previous level 4s will move to level 3??! Christ it's worse than I thought if it's back to level 4

She did say that but she'll prob put my area back in 4 as we've been one of the highest number of positives throughout

shouldistop · 23/02/2021 15:35

@DeepfriedPizza I'm EDC, we just get lumped in with Glasgow.

TartanTed · 23/02/2021 15:41

There is a real dearth of decent politicians across the entire UK political spectrum unfortunately.

Just fleeting mention of at least some time in school, so not even a guarantee of full time. I just despair at how schools can gather enough evidence to then do moderation and submit by end June. That only really gives 6 weeks as they will have to keep June free for moderation. So basically an exam diet in all but name at end April/May.
TeenTraumaTrials · 23/02/2021 15:47

@IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021

What the fuck are these opposition parties doing. She needs to be reigned in!
I know, much as I hate to say it the only one who even remotely challenged was RD. The rest were so wishy-washy.
anon444877 · 23/02/2021 16:12

well I'm glad I didn't waste time watching as I had to do pick up today. What a crock. Whoop-whoop.

anon444877 · 23/02/2021 16:13

it was even worse than the low expectations they had set - so 2 weeks back before Easter holidays, but only part time? WTAF.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 23/02/2021 16:15

I'm just so angry today. 2 suicides of you by men in my area and I have just had enough of her fucking caution.

The non answers to the questions. Also I wasn't listening properly but I heard of extra financial support? Where is this coming from and why hasn't it already been given? Has she held some back for this exact reason?

Zero covid is a thing for rich people

WouldBeGood · 23/02/2021 16:16

No hope will mean people just ignore it. And visit in houses

WouldBeGood · 23/02/2021 16:17

Yep. All the stay the fuck at home! And Devi’s platitudes are no good if you’re poor

Zero covid is a thing for rich people

This, exactly this.

I had a rant today when poor DH mentioned that it's a stupid idea because "other countries aren't doing it". No, it's a stupid idea because to achieve it you'd need to weld people into their homes, turn off all infrastructure such as water and power, close the hospitals (bye bye anyone in intensive care I suppose) and finally lock up all the house welders into barracks. Then sit for a month, or maybe longer to be on the safe side.
Should ensure plenty of deaths but hey at least not covid deaths!
Plus it wouldn't work anyway because somehow it would pop up again afterwards as we emerged blinking into the wasteland of our previous country.

Sweetpotatoaddict · 23/02/2021 16:23

Last week I was angry, this week I'm just in a state of dismay and misery. Yesterday I felt some hope, today all dashed.

I feel like this and my life is reasonably normal, with my children attending for education and me and dh going to work. No idea how awful folk without this must feel.

TeenTraumaTrials · 23/02/2021 16:26

Was just chatting online to a colleague who sent me link to an uplifting poem and said we should just be grateful our family are all ok and have got through this - yes, but at what cost to my kids education and futures. I really had to bite my tongue (well fingers).

I know I should be grateful, and I really am, but as the risk falls dramatically with vaccinations, so should the restrictions.

I'm the opposite. I was miserable but I'm getting increasingly angry.

My employer is proposing an online get-together next month to celebrate everything we've achieved in the past year. I think I may be unwell that day.

Electrocute1980 · 23/02/2021 16:31

I was so angry I was shaky. Now I’ve decided I’m done. I’ve invited my DD’s best friend over and I will be seeing my parents and my best friend. This has gone on long enough and I just can’t do it anymore.

Sootess · 23/02/2021 16:35

Thanks @TeenTraumaTrials
I just wondered if I'd missed some detail on the exam years but clearly not!
Our young people are really stuffed nowConfused

WouldBeGood · 23/02/2021 16:38

I’m actually feeling ill cos of it.. shaky and cold, and quite weird!
