New thread, imaginatively titled.

The second one is just a booster.

You’ll get an invitation in a blue envelope if you’re vulnerable.

I know you’re worried though @jabbathebutt 💐

I think at rate they're vaccinating by June people in 40s will have had it too, plus all vulnerable people. And many people will have had 2nd dose.

shouldistop · 22/02/2021 17:18

@jabbathebutt if you're extremely vulnerable and haven't been called you should probably call the help line to make sure there isn't a mistake. I thought everyone who was previously shielding had been offered it now? Sorry you're worried.

Groovee · 22/02/2021 17:25

@Cocacola12 at our practice you phone and they call you back. If they deem you need to be seen they give you an app that day. Hoping you can make that call x

WouldBeGood · 22/02/2021 17:34

@Groovee how are you and Mr Groovee?

OP posts:
jabbathebutt · 22/02/2021 17:41

I'm not CEV but my doctor said I was 'vulnerable' and should WFH and limit travelling anywhere. I have a letter from him saying this.

I've messaged him to ask about the jag as I don't know where I am in terms of priority but heard nothing.

So I am rather confused.

kurtrussellsbeard · 22/02/2021 17:56

@jabbathebutt this might sound a bit silly but could you google your condition/ conditions plus covid vaccination. It might bring something up or experiences of others in a similar situation to you might give an idea as to when you might be called?

That's probably super obvious and I'm sorry if it is!

Sootess · 22/02/2021 18:03

@jabbathebutt that's good that you're checking with your GP.

I'm an HCP and see many people who are vulnerable due to medical conditions, but they're not necessarily at any more risk of Covid.
There is a list of medical conditions which make people more at risk of serious illness if they catch Covid. II you have one of those you should be on the list of people just about to be called over next couple weeks.

Your GP can check for you

shouldistop · 22/02/2021 18:05

@jabbathebutt ok so it sounds like you're in the same group as my dh (he takes a steroid inhaler for asthma), I believe that group are currently beginning to be called.
It looks like the first vaccination gives very good protection and the second is a booster that gives longer term immunity.

NotAnActualSheep · 22/02/2021 18:57

Glad your first day went well jabba! I think others have given good advice re checking to see when you're likely to be called. Sounds like it won't be long now. I think the supply issues they have had seem to be resolving (that's the impression I got from today's briefing anyway) so hopefully you'll get called in the next week or so.

Groovee · 22/02/2021 19:23
@Groovee how are you and Mr Groovee?
Mr G has a virus. Thanks for asking.

I'm bloody knackered but it was so good to have the wee ones back, we had some tears but on the whole a fab day all round for us. It was so nice to be back. The lovely weather helped.

jabbathebutt · 22/02/2021 19:25

despite being vulnerable, I really want to go abroad. Could that really really happen in July???

WouldBeGood · 22/02/2021 19:43

@Groovee hope he feels better and glad your day went well. Even for a grumpy old fucker like me the weather makes a difference

@jabbathebutt I’d be so excited!

Do I book England for July?? Thinking Alton Towers surely we will be able to go? Why can't I shake the feeling I am going to rage tomorrow 😂

rookiemere · 22/02/2021 20:01

@IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 I suspect it will be the same situation as last year. Scotland will trail a week or so behind England - just because- but by mid July any imperative to stop us leaving Scotland should have gone, and I doubt the police will be guarding the borders when it's not justified.

WouldBeGood · 22/02/2021 20:02

I want to go back to Derbyshire

*words I never thought I’d say

😆 reminds me of the time my dd was being such a little beggar that getting a Brazilian wax was actually enjoyable. It's all relative I suppose.

ah that patrick vallance has just said masks next winter, work from home next winter too. Fuck right off with the former. Happy with the latter (hate office politics)

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 22/02/2021 20:15

@rookiemere I'm looking at the 8th it's a decent price with the water park and stuff. I just want to have something so fun planned for the kids and if it was restriction free down south even better.

What's the predictions for tomorrow? How cautious are we all thinking? I have a feeling she might do something random before Boris for some reason. Seen stuff on Twitter Linda Bauld saying how the strategies differ but NS said today it wouldn't be too different to rest of uk

jabbathebutt · 22/02/2021 20:21

did she not say a return to tiers?

littlbrowndog · 22/02/2021 20:26

Nice you had good day jabba

Sorry for mrg

Great day with school and nursery 🙌🏽

Why will we go back to tiers ffs. Done with that now

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 22/02/2021 20:33

She did @jabbathebutt but also said it wouldn't be too different to UK so that's what's confusing me. I'm central belt so fucked if if it's tiers again.

Even tier 3 is rubbish. Do we think we will get a 21st of June type scenario? I can't see it but would love it
