@WouldBeGood

I’m thinking of creating a nightclub in a soft play centre for maximum outrage from the SG
I’m in. Where can I buy a ticket for this?
NotAnActualSheep · 22/02/2021 12:58

@anon444877

Worksheets - school with the fun missing.
Grin Precisely. Thanks for the sympathy folks. He's fine now, making up a ridiculously complicated plot for a short story, which I think he's forgotten he actually has to write down... I think he's on about chapter 4.

Yes, the vaccine success news is great! I really hope it does lead to some changes in policy.

cocacola I'm so sorry you're feeling like that. I think how GPs operate is a bit of a lottery. I believe ours are sort of triaging by phone, but they will see you if they think that is needed and they can't get the info over the phone/ are a bit worried by a photo you've sent through and need to see in person or whatever. In your case, I think it will be obvious that a phone appointment wouldn't be great. Maybe you could write down how you're feeling if that is easier... It may be easier to ask for an in person appt that way too? I know how you feel about the phone - I get like that. Though I'm pretty bad in person too actually... the opening bit of a GP appointment is always a bit painful "so, how can I help you" "oh, no, I'm fine thanks, um, actually, well, no, I've got a dodgy foot and my arm keeps falling off...".

anon444877 · 22/02/2021 13:07

@cocacola12 it's worth calling your DS's school too, I've got a couple of friends who've got part time places at school for their DC because the DC are showing signs of anxiety - it depends on your HT a bit but it's worth asking if you've not already.

anon444877 · 22/02/2021 13:08

and I see that phoning is hard - you can also email the school about your DS.

WouldBeGood · 22/02/2021 13:15

Please ring your GP @Cocacola12. I had to do that last summer and they were really lovely. I was having those dark thoughts, horrible. I was prescribed medication and it really helped just to get my mind back to normal. Well, as normal as it ever is.

And if you’re feeling down feel free to post here. It’s for all the ups and downs of life just now. And you’ll qualify for complimentary tickets for my soft play nightclub.

I know this is a place for railing but I've had a pretty good day so far. Ds1 went off to nursery happily this morning, I washed my hair and put make up on (!) then had a 90 minute walk with another mum and our prams, dh took the baby out at lunch time so I had an hour to have lunch in peace, now sitting on my front door step with baby sleeping in the pram and the sun shining.
Will go to collect ds1 about 4pm, can't wait to hear all about his day Smile

shouldistop · 22/02/2021 15:00

Softplay night club sounds great, count me in

anon444877 · 22/02/2021 15:04

me too should officially the best Monday for a long while.

WouldBeGood · 22/02/2021 15:15

@shouldistop so pleased you’ve had a nice day

I have just waved my teen off to school at 2.45pm!!! How surreal is that??

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/02/2021 15:30

Just looking at stats - where I am is solidly tier 2 in old money. My town of roughly 10k has had 4 cases in the last week.

Sigh

WouldBeGood · 22/02/2021 15:41

I think people will vote with their feet when the vaccines process and won’t be so accepting of all this.

That day sounds pretty good for 2021!
titsbumfannythelot · 22/02/2021 16:17

What time is heid the baw making an announcement tomorrow? And what do we reckon it will say?

WouldBeGood · 22/02/2021 16:19

Well.. I’m hoping she’ll follow Boris!!

OP posts:
frasersmummy · 22/02/2021 16:25

i reckon she will say that she wont be bullied into opening up too soon just because other parts of the uk are.
she will tell us that we are in a very precarious position and she cant afford to let this virus run out of control because then we will have to go back into lockdown
she will say the schools have only just started re-opening and they need to wait to see the impact of that before making any more decisions

and there will be a lot of railing on here tomorrow night

I really really hope I am wrong ..

noname55 · 22/02/2021 16:37

I think you're right @frasersmummy can already picture her calling the UK gov reckless and so on. Hopefully not though!!!!

You are NSs scriptwriter and I claim my £5! I'm predicting railing tomorrow too, sadly.

So glad you've had a better day shouldistop!

On the tiers, if we go back to the old system (as it should have been) , Edinburgh should still be in tier 2, even though cases have been increasing mysteriously and annoyingly for the past week. We were at about 50 per 100k and now at 90ish, and %positive is creeping back up to 5% though still just below. So we'll be back into tier 3 or 4 because we're going in the wrong direction... Feckers. Even though we've been in lockdown for 47 years, keeping us there a bit longer will obviously make all the difference in bringing numbers back down again.

jabbathebutt · 22/02/2021 16:39

WTF? BJ opening everything in June, before we are all vacc'd?

Is he mental?

I mean it all sounds good but not if you are vulnerable like me.

Hello 4th wave!

jabbathebutt · 22/02/2021 16:57

In other news. My first day went okay.

WouldBeGood · 22/02/2021 17:00

I’m feeling much happier.
@jabbathebutt will you not be vaccinated by then? My DP is getting it this week and he’s not ECV just has an underlying condition (though it doesn’t affect Covid in fact)

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 22/02/2021 17:00

Glad to hear that about your work

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 22/02/2021 17:03

I think all vulnerable groups should be vaccinated by then- bbc has all over 50 plus vulnerable by 15th April

jabbathebutt · 22/02/2021 17:07

I've heard nothing about a jag yet and we need two jags remember

I'm not convinced this is a cautious approach at all
