I've done Tokyo for a work trip, but because it was for work it was business class flights which made it ok. I wouldn't want to do it in economy though!

He's going to phone tomorrow as he doesn't fancy out of hours. Not sure if he's picked up a virus or has a wee infection somewhere.

Aargh.. that’s a long flight. But I think I’ll just be so excited and it can’t be worse than sitting on my arse in my house for a year

Only took 10 hours. Dh is negative for Covid. He's going to phone the dr in the morning. He has a temp and is exhausted. This is how he was prior to turning yellow so yes I am over reacting to it all.

Back with all my kiddies tomorrow 🎉🎉 first LF test at 6am. Off to bed as I'm back to normal hours tomorrow x

@WouldBeGood at least a long haul flight would be someone else making your dinner. Plus people watching. I'd even be glad of the progressively pissier bogs right now. And the departure lounge would be joy unrestrained.

I've been looking at holiday cottages all day as doubt our big family cottage will happen.No cottages left in Cornwall this summer unless you're an Oligarch. Mind you prices for Whitby are ludicrous as well. I've managed to find something relatively cheap and nice near Barnards Castle which I've fancied since all the publicity. Should probably book it on the chance we'll be allowed out of Scotland by mid July.

At this point I'd go to a departure lounge for a day trip!

DP booked the fancy lounge bit as a surprise when we went away a couple of years ago.. it was soo exciting.

I always end up buying a nice lipstick too 😃

honestly, the departure lounge really would be a holiday in itself.

I've been looking at cornwall dog friendly holiday cottages and there does seem to be a few still available. we can only go in august as DH can only take his annual leave then. He might not be able to change the dates.

Unless....in the very unlikely event....we can go abroad.

But we might have to wear masks on the beach. White tits. white bum. White chin. every other part of the body tanned

Departure lounges - like everything else - have currently been spoilt by Covid.

I made it as far as the boarding gate in August when I'd planned to go to Lisbon. My friend dropped out on the morning we were meant to be going and the freaky airport just put me off.

No shops open, but strangely Weatherspoon's full as usual of hoards of people drinking beer in the morning. Only one wee part of the airport open, I got some steps in walking from one end to the other.
Then I got so spooked I decided to go home.

I hope they go back to normal. We used to go super early so we could get something to eat - usually an argument between Yo Sushi (me) and the pub (DH) , if we had enough time I'd get an impromptu pedicure.

Doesn't sound like many restrictions will be lifted.

I feel kind of relieved, as a vulnerable person and someone who likes WFH. I'm also pleased that meeting up with family will be allowed soon. That's the main thing I missed. Can go sit in my mum's garden if the weather gets better for Easter. Gives me an excuse to walk there and back. She's fairly local and we've been doing doorstep visits really but would be good to have proper chats and a cuppa!

Are we allowed to go inside to pee?

Yeah same here, I'm estranged from my family. MiL is in our bubble. The one we can't see is BIL who is in London so god knows when his sort will be allowed over the border.

I want to get out and meet people, try to make friends in my new town, take the little one to toddler groups or soft play.
