Guilt free railing

The place to vent, moan, rail, cheer: whatever you’re feeling about Covid, and the rules, and life and the universe.

I’ve started this as I’m feeling scared and fed up with increasing restrictions despite vaccines. I feel that what should be a more positive time is instead bringing more and more doom.

I want the simple pleasures of life back, as well as all the big stuff.

Im sick to death of my sister in law, who is the only blasted person we see as she's our extended household. She visits regularly, makes herself too much at home, stays the night, spends half the weekends with us, eats our food, drinks our coffee, and then was recently really rude and awful to us for no reason. She also makes insensitive comments all the time and I just want her to bog off.

titsbumfannythelot · 11/02/2021 13:36

That would piss me off too. Can you tell her you need a weekend off?

ssd · 11/02/2021 13:45

Theres a thread on here in active just now that's pissing me off. It's called something like 'stop with the competitive moaning, we are all suffering'. I'm desperate to post on it 'feck off, we'll moan if we like '...I mean christ, if we cant moan here ,where the hell are we meant to go?!? I get the sentiment behind it but I just want to scream fuck off at it Blush

StopTouchingYourFairyGarden · 11/02/2021 14:13

Well if it cheers anybody up...

I've just had a surprise positive pregnancy test after 10 years of infertility. TEN YEARS. Our two children were born via IVF treatment.

Huh.

I'm in complete shock and can't process it at all. Only DH and I to discuss it (obviously) so letting you all know that an actual medical miracle has occured. Fingers crossed by mid-October there will be another little Scot to join our whinging Grin

Right, as you were, let the moaning recommence Wink

Dyinghouseplant · 11/02/2021 14:14

Oh @StopTouchingYourFairyGarden congratulations!!! That's amazing after 10 years.

shouldistop · 11/02/2021 14:14

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/02/2021 14:19

Fab news! maybe it's because you stopped touching your fairy garden? :o

Were you trying or just not not trying?

Hopefully by the time he or she is here you can pass them round us all for a snuggie and a head sniff.

WouldBeGood · 11/02/2021 14:21

Thank you all. I just feel numb and shocked (and happy obviously) but it's so surreal. In the early years of infertility I dreamed and dreamed of this moment, then it was too painful to even imagine so I stopped. We had the IVF which was successful and I thought I couldn't possibly get luckier, but I have.

My two are just turned 5 and just turned 3. We've given away all our baby stuff!

I'm still fucked off about all the Covid shite mind

ssd · 11/02/2021 14:22

@StopTouchingYourFairyGarden brilliant news,congratulations Flowers

WouldBeGood · 11/02/2021 14:23

Fab news! maybe it's because you stopped touching your fairy garden?

Grin that was screamed in rage at my DC the other day when the mud/grass seeds from the My Fairy Garden ended up strewn through the hall for the 14th time that day. As I was a screeching it I began to laugh and they were very confused!

Not trying because we 'knew' there was no way we'd ever conceive, so actual TTC stopped years ago.

ssd · 11/02/2021 14:25

That's such good news, gives me hope theres still good in the world after all..

StopTouchingYourFairyGarden · 11/02/2021 14:28

There definitely is good out there ssd, and happiness and hope. It can just be really hard to see it some days.

anon444877 · 11/02/2021 14:32

congratulations stop that's lovely - I had a friend that similar happened to, a surprise baby 10 years after she gave up on IVF. Our DC2 was a completely lovely surprise after having treatment for DC1. It's such a mystery sometimes!

WouldBeGood · 11/02/2021 14:39

I too had a surprise baby! It is funny how life works.

I do love a baby 😊
